Friday – We made it! Yesterday was a gorgeous weather day. Spent LOTS of time outdoors. Little man really wore himself out. Wow! I’m impressed w/that.

Looks like today is going to be a repeat of yesterday’s weather. I’ll take it.

Bonus points as Jas is working from home again today and it’s a long holiday weekend! Wahoo.

TGIF

Sharon: OMG, the taco skillet was a total hit . . . no left overs.

Thiry: wishing you luck.

Kelly, Sunny: Hope that things are all well.

Hugs and prayers for our soldiers, families and our country.

See y'all @ 3 pm.

Oh – needing your prayers. My dear little sis’ husband is on Hospice and death is eminent. **SIGH**

BARB – WE have had rain here also several days this week. The other day as I was going to work the western sky was almost black. We had some heavy rain at the office but nothing severe, PTL.

KELLY – I haven’t had a chance to try to call the number that was left on DD phone, which is the one that she called and was told that they had an arrest warrant out for her. There are 2 2 places noted on the IRS website, one is the Phishing email and there is another one that I can’t remember right off hand. I gave DD the information to report the scam and am praying that she followed through with reporting it. Those scammers sure do come up with some unique ways to put their scams on unsuspecting people. I like the way John would handle the sales calls. I might have to try to remember that and try to use it myself. Belated happy birthday to you MIL.

SHARON - I hope you had a good time with your BF. Glad you survived the storms. We didn’t get puppy day this week. The boss’s wife came in Tuesday with the boss but didn’t bring the puppies. Since she looked over payroll and the checks for the payables she didn’t come in on Wednesday. I won’t get puppy day next week either as I won’t be in the office on Wednesday as we will be driving home from Montana that day. Glad you had a good talk with your cousin. Glad you had an easy day. It has been a busy week.

SUNNY – I hope all is well in your world.

It has been a busy week. After doing payroll on Monday Judy and I got back to the financials. As we were getting ready to leave Monday afternoon I sent an email to the boss and his wife. In the email I reminded them that I had talked about going to Montana over the memorial day weekend and that at one point I didn’t think we would be able to as DH had requested the wrong dates off when he put in the request but he had since worked with the store and was able to get all but one of the days off that he actually needed so we would be leaving for Montana on Saturday and that we wouldn’t come back until Wednesday so I wouldn’t be back into the office until Thursday. I also told them that I had talked with Judy and she would be working Tuesday & Wednesday while I was gone. I also mentioned that I hoped it wouldn’t be a problem with the late confirmation about being gone next week. When I arrived at work Tuesday I had an email from the boss saying it was OK with them. Later that morning they came is as he wanted to be there when the consultant was there talking to us about the issues with QuickBooks. She talked to the consultant for a little bit when he first got there but other than that they didn’t talk to him and actually left before we finished and he left. When she first got to the office she came into my office and closed the door. She started in by saying that this was the worst time for us to be going on this trip with needing to get the financials in order. I told her that our hope was that after our meeting with the consultant that the first quarter financials would be done by Wednesday afternoon and the April ones by the end of the day Thursday. This calmed her a slight bit but then she went on to say that I can’t expect Judy to come in and do payroll since she doesn’t know QuickBooks. I then told her that with Monday being a holiday I would be doing payroll on Friday since the payroll company and the banks would be closed for the holiday. This satisfied her a little bit. Then she went on to tell me that I need to put my job as a higher priority in my life. I am currently working between 40-46 hours during the week and she isn’t happy with the “priority” I have for my job. I will be letting her know that on the weekend, which is my time, if there is a decision to be made between working or attending something with my family the family will win out 100% of the time.

Yesterday, Judy and I thought we had the first quarter financials done so we went to lunch to celebrate. After returning we worked on the April financials and went over our notes on the changes that we had made on the first quarter financials. This morning we presented the first quarter financials to the boss and he requested a write up on why the first quarter still showed a loss. We worked on that then sent a copy of the first quarter financials to the accountant to look over. We then started looking at April and found a problem with the WIP (work in progress) report so we ended up calling the consultant to get some help from him. After talking to him we realized that there was a formula error in the WIP spreadsheet which affected the first quarter financials so we had to redo them. We completed the changes before I left this afternoon and plan to look them over again in the morning before representing them. Then we need to complete the April financials. I also need to do the payroll for this week and get the 401K stuff entered so it can be taken care of before the changes go through on that. This all needs to be done tomorrow before I leave for the trip to Montana or the boss’s wife is going to have a fit.

Yesterday as I was leaving work I got a call from the staffing agency that placed me with the old job, even though I have told them I changed jobs and wasn’t looking any longer. She was calling me about a job opportunity and emailed me the information to look over and respond to her today. I am tempted to talk to the boss and ask him if I need to worry about my job but tell him that I really like my job with his company, because of the conversations with his wife over the past few weeks as if it is I would need to be looking for a different one as I can’t afford to be without a job since my paycheck pays the majority of the bills (rent, car payment, utilities, etc.). I had thought about doing this today but he was not having a good day and he left early due to his not having his strength built up from his surgery 3 weeks ago and that he needed to go to one of the job sites in the afternoon.

Well I had better get to bed.

Have a great week.
Thiry

Hey all! Late drive-by to say Hi!

Not much going on here today. Went grocery shopping. Other than that took it easy.

Yes, it has been "catch-up" here, but I am glad. It was really strange. . . Last night I dreamed about some other relatives, and some friends I have not seen in years. We were all having a picnic in front of this beautiful big Southern white, mansion on the front lawn. There was a baby there and that was my son. It was really strange that I remembered so much!

Kelly, sounds like a great cocktail, and my kinda bartender!!! If you can't taste the booze in your drink, what's the point?! emoticon

Barb, hope you managed to have Rylund occupied today, and you were able to relax a little yourself! How did the Taco skillet go over with the family?

Sunny and Thiry, hope all is good in your week so far.

Pollen up the whazoo here, too! So much so you can see it all over our walkway to the front porch. Here's an early Happy Friday to you all!

Mom would be so happy to know she had so many toasts, thanks Ladies!

I ordered a whiskey sour, me thinks the barkeep put enough in there for her and me. Interesting and did not get a chance to ask about the sour, had a bit of an orange taste actually quite good. Hmmm, puttenesca sounds good, can not tell you when I had that last. Won't be for tonight but soon. Looks like you have had some great time with your friends, you don't have to be face to face do you?

Barb have you checked with the board of Ed for leads for summer programs? Used to be they would do their best to work in kids that age that were moving in. Anyway, some kind of camp is a great idea and no doubt he will do fine.

Sunny and Thiry, hope all is quiet in your corner of the world!

Nothing exciting going on here, hot, humid, pollen up the whazoo, but it is Friday Eve! Everyone have a great one, hugs and prayers

Kelly

Sharon: The taco skillet is on the menu tomorrow! And they're excited!

YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES . . .looking into a Daycamp. My kids were in one thru our park district for years. I think he'll like it and I KNOW he'll come home dirty, sweaty and TIRED (THAT'S the one I'm interested in. LOL)

Oh, glad you survived the storms. We did have rain last night, but this morning was dry and finally the sun came out.

Here's a toast to your MIL, Kelly! HUGS to her.

Happy OTH Wednesday!

More storms blew through yesterday. Lots of thunder & lightning! Glad to read thay you and Rylund got to go to the park, Barb. I hear you on those yayas! How about a "Summer Camp" for him ( Code: Summer Daycare). We have lots of half day and full day camps. Good chance for socializing and making friends. DGD went to a week long rock camp (full day near home), and she loved it. What about Cub Scouts? Just a couple of ides that came to mind.

Did you happen to make that taco skillet with your family yet Barb? You said you were putting it on the menu. Just wondering what your rating is?

Sunny today, and quite nice. Pollen though is crazy.

I too will raise a toast to John's mother tonight, Kelly. 99 and still going strong. What's her secret?

Thiry, hope you enjoyed your puppy day today. Pretty soon we'll have to rename it.

Spent half the day talking on the phone with my cousin who's the sister I never had. We talked about anything and everything! We have always been able to do that.

Here’s to a wonderful Wednesday evening for all.

Wednesday – Wow! Mid-week already. Time flies!

Had a cloudy day yesterday till about 2 pm. Then the sun finally showed up! So, Rylund got to go to the park. PHEW. Had lots of ya-yas to get out.

The weather is warming up today! Looks like it is a quick spring moving right to summer.

Here’s to a wonderful Wednesday.

Thiry: Yes! I read Miss Nebraska won the title of Miss USA.

Sharon: Sounds delicious! You’re the hostess w/the moistest!

Kelly: Yes I surely hope that Rylund makes friends @ the park before he starts school. Right now so many his age are in Pre-School (He really SHOULD BE, but a little late now). It’ll all work out. He’s outgoing so he’ll make friends quickly I think.

Oh my goodness. Happy 99th birthday to your MIL. Awesome.

Hugs and prayers for our soldiers, families and our country.

See y’all @ 3 pm, and a special toast to your MIL, Kelly!

HUGS ladies.

Thiry, you gave your daughter the right solution to that jerk scammer. Usually the number is blocked for call backs and they are aware of being reported, but it is always fun to hear their reaction if you can manage to turn the tables. Man do I know you would be a master at it Thiry!! it is best to not even answer these calls. I am looking for the list of places to report incidences like this as well as all the other scams that come up. I have gotten IRS calls like that, have gotten calls from the US Marshall's office. the first one I happened to walk in at the end of his msg reminding me I had 40 minutes to call back before they show up with an arrest warrant...well, I picked up the phone told them I was now homeless and they could come by right now I need a roof over my head. AND yes there is nothing more annoying, scary or any other thing than that danged IRS envelope - we have had more than our share of them and except for this last lapse of paying attention to what was missing, they owed us! Luckily we always managed to get an agent that was willing to help us and not themselves so it did not involve legal fees or the time of our accountant.
Last month locals were bombarded with calls from ATT and microsoft. Amazing how they can override a company's number to scam.

We used to get a lot of sales calls, I am sure I have told this before but John would answer and depending on what the caller id was he do one or the other. He'd pretend to be a Homicide Detective (a long running comedy routine he heard years ago) or he would try to sell the caller a bizarre product he carries.

Sounds like a great idea you are putting together for your trip to Montana. That is cool that your state is the winner in that pagdent (sorry i forgot already which it was already)

Barb, it is okay to let Ryland fend for himself sometimes (although me thinks you are really enjoying yourself). If you mix dish soap with a little glycerine that makes great bubbles, don't ask me the ratio because I don't remember. Seems like the last time I just winged it and it worked okay for the block party. Now that the weather is getting better, hopefully he will be making friends at the park before school starts.

Sharon, good for you having a jammie day!!! AND a long visit with your best bud!!! Good for the soul for sure.

Sunny have you recovered from your whirlwind trip?

We had a popup rain storm yesterday afternoon, followed by high humidity, today hot and humid again. Will take it, considering what parts of the country have been through.

Oh will wait til 6 to imbide but will celebrate at 3 my dear Mother in Law's 99th birthday! I can only hope to be like her when I grown up (she says she hopes to see that haha).

What a night for the Midwest last night. I watched the Miss USA pageant last night and the winner is from Nebraska, Papillion which is one of the suburbs of Omaha. I also heard that the winner of American Idol is from Clarksville, IA which is about 4 hours northeast of Omaha.

Tuesday – Well, yesterday was a washout. Rylund and I cooked, washed dishes, played w/trucks, played w/playdoh, read books, watched a movie (Inside Out) and he actually took a nap!

Hoping today dries out a little so we can go to the park. We shall see.

Jason is back to the office today.

Thiry: Hope that your DH has an epiphany about his health! Lord.

Yes, that would be sort of revenge, calling that # and then revealing that you’re a tax preparer AND telling them they’d be reported! **SIGH**

Glad you had a busy, but quiet day.

Hope you have a safe trip to Montana.

Sharon, Sunny, Marsha: Hope all is well in your neck of the woods.

See y’all @ 3 pm.

BARB – Glad the weather cooperated so you could get that little guy outside to run off some of his energy. Yes, it was a good weekend and yes, I was not happy especially after the meeting we had at that son’s house a few weeks ago and one thing that was brought up was that DH needed to be on a food and exercise schedule. I am glad DD called me also instead of trying to find someone to give her money to pay. I have thought about calling the number and pretend that I had received the call and play with them for a while then tell them I work as a tax preparer and know that they are a bunch of scam artists. I wanted to do it Thursday but we were so busy with the financials that I didn’t have time and haven’t gotten to it Friday or today.

KELLY – I hope you had a good day today and that the weather is cooperating for you.

SHARON - Glad that the rain stopped even if it is only for one day. We have had a lot of rainy days but not as many as you all have. Oh, to have a lazy day like you had yesterday. Yes, that call was very scary. We have talked about the fact that the IRS wouldn’t call or email so hopefully she will keep that in the back of her mind for future reference. I haven’t received one of those “envelopes” so I don’t know the scare that a person feels when they receive one of those letters and I hope I never have to deal with something like that. OMG what was the IL senate thinking? I just can’t imagine why they would give the go ahead for children to take medical marijuana to school.

SUNNY – I hope all is well for you.

Busy day at work today doing payroll. I got it totally completed and then Judy and I looked a few things over for the financials and in preparation for the meeting tomorrow with the consultant. Other than that it was a quite day. DH did call me at one point today and said he wanted to purchase a wreath that was made of yellow roses and has “in loving memory” on it to take up to Montana and put on his mothers grave while we are there this weekend. I told him that I didn’t think there was enough money in the account for that so after I got off work I headed to the store to get the wreath, some paper for making copies, a binder to put the copies in and dividers to separate the different families as we copy the family history that Aunt Ruth has. I also need ink cartridges for the printer but couldn’t remember the number for the ink cartridges so I will have to get that later this week. Other than that nothing much is going on here.

Have a great week.
Thiry

Sharon: Glad you at least got to relax a little bit. That helps. JAMMIES ALL DAY. That rocks.

I just read about the IL senate in my IL Nursing daily news. Good heavens . . . . to say the least, I don’t agree with it.

A little bit more relaxed this weekend. Still tired! Rylund keeps on going and going.

Morning ladies!

It's too bright this morning, after 8 straight days of rain. DH corrected me yesterday when I was talking to my college roommate, and telling her it had been 4 straight days. But short lived , as rain forecasted for tomorrow again!

Lazy day yesterday, and it felt good, too! Jammies all day. . . No nap, but just relaxed and watched movies, talked to my roommate from collge for 2 1/2 hors on FT. It was nice.

Nothing reaaly important for today scheduled so will just do some tidying up. Also need to go to grocery store for a few things. Other than that, going to take advantage of another slow day.

Hope you all had a good weekend. Hard to believe Memorial Day is here this weekend already. Have to plan for that, too. Getting together for a coikout with friends.

Thiry, that was scary for your daughter. You need to give her a course in phising emails 101. You are right, IRS does not send emails or phone calls. We have been the victims of audits a few times, and you literaaly freeze when you receive that "envelope" in the mail!

Kelly, hope you had fun at your brunch with your friends.

Just saw that IL senate has given a green light for children to bring medical marijuana to school!! WTH?! This is insane!

Barb, hope you had a more relaxing weekend . . But I guess that's not going to be possible until your house occupancy returns to normal. Hope you at least have som nice weather.

Sunny, I'm sure you spent the weekend recovering from your trip and busy week.

Have a good day ladies, and i'll catch you later. emoticon

Monday – Back to the work week routine. At least the sun showed up for awhile yesterday. That was nice. Got Rylund to the part to get some of his ya-ya’s out.

Here’s to a motivated Monday!

Thiry: Sounds like you had a good weekend! OH my gosh! For a son to treat his Dad in that way . . . . that would not have made me happy.

YIKES! Yes, that is a scam call that I’ve had myself several years ago. That’s when I, too, learned if there is a problem, they will contact you by snail mail, NEVER a call. Glad your DD called you.

HUGS

Sharon, Sunny, Marsha: Hope you had a good weekend.

BARB – Glad you are having good weather and that Rylund is able to get outside and play. I’m sure that you were able to keep him busy on the rainy day. Thank you I have had a good weekend.

KELLY – Thank you, we had a good time at the cat show and found out some things that we didn’t know about some cat breeds. You might be right but she really has to realize that things take time and can’t be done in a matter of days when it has taken a year to get in the shape it is in. She will most likely be bringing the pups in on Wednesdays now as the boss has gotten clearance from the doctor after his hip replacement to start driving so she won’t have to bring him to the office and pick him up so she will be able to handle the pups. I hope you had a good time at your monthly breakfast the other day. Thanks, but I didn’t have to go in as on Friday we got enough done and can’t do any more until after our meeting with the QuickBooks trainer to learn more about inventory as I haven’t done much with inventory and Judy has no QuickBooks knowledge at all. I know the feeling as there was a beautiful cat for adoption at the cat show that I would have taken home in a nanosecond if I hadn’t already had the 4 already. I wasn’t home to watch the wedding but recorded it and watched it when I got home. It was a really nice wedding and the wedding dress was very simple but elegant. Many of the guests (brides mom, queen, and others) wore different shades of green to the wedding.

SHARON - sorry you are getting so much rain. It is scheduled to rain here most of the week, rained yesterday and today. Yes, I am so glad we got to the point that we didn’t need to go into work today. It has been a good weekend. After the cat show yesterday we returned to DIL house, picked up DH and headed home making a couple stops to look for a cat bowl similar to one I saw at the cat show that is said to make the cats eat slower so they don’t throw up their food from eating too fast. After getting home I didn’t do anything other than watch some TV and do more with my new phone, learning about it.

SUNNY – I hope all is well for you.

It has been a good weekend. We enjoyed the cat show, had lunch in Fremont then headed back to DIL house. When we arrived at the house DH said he and his son and DGD were just getting ready to go out but they were waiting for DGD to get ready (shirt, shoes and socks). DGD got really mouthy at one point and said that she was owed an apology, I don’t know if her dad or grandpa was to do the apologizing but I hadn’t heard anything that would require an apology since we had gotten back. After a little while DH decided he was ready to head home as he was tired of waiting for DGD to get ready to go. I found out that his DS had fed DGD and had eaten something himself but hadn’t offered his dad anything. We had taken the corn and ground beef over that we had planned on taking over there last weekend but he didn’t fix anything for his dad. On the way home, we stopped at a pet store to look for a cat bowl similar to one I saw at the cat show but we didn’t find any. We also stopped and got DH some food at Hardy’s as it was around 3 pm and he hadn’t had anything to eat yet that day. After getting home I watched the royal wedding and a couple other shows before falling asleep.

This morning I got up and went to church to sing with the choir and after church DH and I went to Walmart to send some money to DD as she sent a message yesterday that she had less than a quarter tank of gas and didn’t get paid until Tuesday. After that we went to Olive Garden and used the rest of the gift card that I received at the end of the year party for Jackson Hewitt. On our way home from Olive Garden we called Aunt Ruth to see what her plans are for next weekend and the first couple days next week as DH did get the time off from work so we are planning to head to Montana next weekend. The first thing she said after realizing it was us calling was “happy anniversary”. During our conversation she told us that next Saturday there is a family graduation and the following weekend is the memorial for her brother Henry. We found out that he died May second and they are having the memorial June 2nd. We hadn’t heard this before and I then told DH that I am so glad we made that flying trip to Montana in December as if we hadn’t we wouldn’t have seen Uncle Henry since 2007. We didn’t spend as much time with Hank and Barbara in December as we would have liked since he was just getting over the flu bug but at least we got to see him before he passed recently. This makes it even more important to me for us to get back up there and get that information from Aunt Ruth before something happens to her.

After getting home we called some of the kids to let them know about Uncle Henry and when DH was talking to one of his sons he was invited to join them while they worked on a car in the other son’s garage. I told him to go if he wanted but I didn’t want to go up and watch them work on a vehicle. He did go and I spent the time watching TV. When he got back he decided to repot a couple of the plants we purchased last weekend and hadn’t reported yet. During this he spilled a bunch of dirt on the carpet then spilled water on the carpet also while watering the plants he was repotting. After this he decided to run the vacuum and smeared the dirt in to the carpet. I told him I wouldn’t have run the vacuum over the dirt but would have used the hose and cleaned up what I could that way and the rest after the water dried. He then had to shampoo the carpet. While he was doing that I decided to clean the bathroom as he cleaned the cat water fountain and spilled stuff all over the bathroom floor. After cleaning the bathroom and taking a shower I came back to the living room and watched TV again. I have done a couple loads of clothes today also sitting on the couch watching TV.

Well I need to close and start getting ready for bed.

OMG, I have had so much happening that I totally forgot to mention the call from DD on Wednesday afternoon. When I talked to her the one time I told her that if she needed anything she could call but it would be best if she called after 4:30 but if it was absolutely necessary to call any time. When I saw it was from her I told Judy I needed to take the call. DD was upset, screeching and talking so fast I couldn’t understand a thing she was saying. I told her to calm down and talk slower so I could understand what she was saying. She told me she had finally gotten her voicemail set up and had a message to call a number about taxes that she owes. Not thinking and knowing that she owed from last year as she filled out the paperwork wrong and didn’t have taxes coming out of her check so she called the number. When they answered she was told that there was an arrest warrant out for her because of tax evasion and that she owed $3,000+ (she couldn’t remember the exact amount) and that she should call her friends and family to see if she could get help getting the money together to pay the taxes before she was arrested on the warrant. I asked if she had her tax returns and she said yes. I told her to get them together so she would have them available if needed. She said she would and that all she wanted to do was to go to the pool and relax after getting an adjustment and massage. I told her to get the stuff together and go have fun at the pool and I would call her back later. During all this Judy brought up the fact that this was a scam (I wasn’t thinking about that as my DD was upset and I was trying anything I could to help her). Once Judy said that it brought me back to reality as what she said was correct, the IRS doesn’t call or send emails, they only send letters by “snail mail”. I talked to DD a couple time after that and she had calmed down, gone to the pool and relaxed, at this time she had fully realized that the call was a scam and at this point we weren’t going to pursue it any farther except for contacting the IRS to report the scam.

Have a great week.
Thiry

Sunday – Relatively quiet yesterday. The subdivision had a rummage sale, but the weather wasn’t cooperative too much. Rainy early in the morning. Cool (that usually doesn’t keep anyone away.)

Rainy this morning, hope the weather improves!

Blessings!

Kelly: Yes, I watched the wedding and it was beautiful! The tiara . . . . what’s not to love! All those sparklers. NICE~

The Queen was dressed in a lime-green ensemble (sheath dress and overcoat) with her usual style hat in Lime Green as well w/lilac-type flowers on her hat. Interesting.

Sharon, Sunny, Thiry: Hope you have a good day.

Hugs and prayers for our soldiers, families and our country.

See y’all @ 3 pm.

Morning! It is going to be a nice day again, hopefully those of you on the East Coast are finally going to get to dry out!

Nothing much of interest around here, so hopefully all you all get some much needed down time. Thiry, hopefully your Sunday penance at work includes the pups.

Oh yesterday was a pup adoption fair, for the first time it included Greyhounds. What wonderful loving animals they are. It was all I could do to walk away AND to not get out of the car to go back to get the address of the female up for foster. We had three families with Greyhounds here, we are down to one and they rarely have her out lately.

Did not watch the wedding yesterday, actually forgot all about it. A beautiful wedding dress and the tiara she wore was truly a throw back from centuries ago! Never caught a glimpse of the rest of the wedding party or even the Queen though.

Have a great day!

Kelly

Mornin' ladies! Still raining here - 4 striaght days now, although it is a little brighter than it has bee. Not quite as dark and dreary.

Barb, hope you have a few things up your sleeve for Rylund today.

Kelly, hope you have fun at brunch today.

Thiry, hope you get some rest today, and glad to read that you got enough done with the extra hour last night so you don't have to go in tomorrow.

Sunny, hope you arrived home safely.

Going to take it easy today. I think a nap is definitely in the works!

Enjoy your Saturday all!

Saturday: What an absolutely gorgeous day yesterday. Spent almost all day outside. Rylund was suitably DIRTY. Sign he had a good time! Yup. . . not having fun if you’re not dirty!

Today . . . icky, rainy. Oh well, time to break out the crayons again and I think maybe make some cookies.

Have a good Saturday.

Thiry: Hpe you have a good weekend!

Kelly: YES. Jas experienced the nuclear kid (like that name . . .think it’s gonna stick!) He’s settling in better than what I anticipated, but for sure I am not sure if he’ll run out of steam! Don’t think they do @ that age.

Sharon, Sunny, Marsha: Hope you have a good day.

Hugs and prayers for our soldiers, families and our country.

See y’all @ 3 pm.

Thiry, ENJOY your outing today!!! Sounds like fun especially since you are doing it with the daughter in law and the crud has pretty much gone bye bye!

I'm thinking that the mess with the books has your boss in panic mode and is not coping well with the prospect of the what ifs of what can happen with misreported income, the way it all transferred etc. Bonus salaried folks get the short end most of the time, hopefully there will be a sumthin' in a paycheck down the line as a thank you, or extra time off. Also, she sees you survived tax season and two jobs and figured you also have a cape. Ask her to bring pups with her, that'll lighten the mood.

Sharon you two are wonderful grandparents I just hope the daughter in law shows her appreciation and realizes how lucky her children are that you two are in their lives. I am willing to bet it is not lost on your grands and your son though. Whew on those storms, it seems that storms like that are few between so it makes it even more unnerving. Anyway, happy all is well there.

HaHa Barb, so Jas got zapped with the nuclear kid! He is really enjoying settling into his new life isn't he? Hopefully he will run out of some of that steam soon.

Sunny, can't wait to hear all about the graduation and more about Rich and your son's trip to DC. Safe travels.

Marsha, breathe dear lady. Rains here have affected some of our farmers for our newly opened market too. Yummm, homemade noodles.

Well, today is our monthly breakfast feed, so should change out of my pj's. We have all been tempted to show up in our pj's since we meet at the Marriott and you would be surprised at how many folks, not just kids, show up looking like they just rolled out of bed. (Likely did) So I will be waddling out of there after lox, capers, fruit-lots of that, and my beloved blintzes. Oh and can not forget their yummy locally grown bacon.

So will see you Lassies at 3 on the front porch. The sun is out here all day supposedly, hope the same for all of you!

Hugs and Prayers. Especially for the fallen their families and the neat little town of SanteFe. Sigh.

BARB – Glad you are having some good weather and have been able to get out and enjoy it. I guess she has been talking to Judy and asking her if she had talked to me about working weekends or logging in from home to work on stuff that I haven’t gotten completed while at the office.

KELLY – I hope you are doing well and that all the storms missed you.

SHARON - It sounds like you have been really busy. I’m sure that you are enjoying the time with the grands. Sorry you are dealing with all the rain and glad you were spared from the terrible storms. Glad you made it through the storms yesterday and made it home safe. Sorry you haven’t been sleeping well and glad that you have been able to get a few cat-naps in. Yes, the meds have helped and I am feeling a lot better. I still have some crud that I am blowing out when I need to blow my nose but other than that and a slight cough I am feeling much better. Yes, she has been asking me about working weekends for a few weeks but I have had other plans and haven’t been able to do it. Yes, she just doesn’t realize that when something has been going on for a year it isn’t something that can be cleared up in a matter of days. It doesn’t help that last year at this time the company converted from a program called Evolution to QuickBooks and the conversion wasn’t a clean conversion. The numbers were all brought over in lump sums so information from the first 5 months of the year does not have any detail to it. In addition to that there were 2-3 different people in my position and each person had a different way of doing things so the employees that are still with the company are really frustrated due to the changes made by each person in the position. Also, there have been many entries made that make no since and some that absolutely shouldn’t have been made. In many cases, we have had to pull each entry and look at it over to see what was done and why it was done the way it was done. I will have to check into the laws to see what it says about hours expected to work when on salary. Yes, making sure the weekends are full is on my radar.

SUNNY – I hope all is well in your world

It was a busy day at the office today. Judy came in this morning and said that when she got home last night and talked to her DH she realized that they had plans for Sunday. She told him to go ahead with the plans without her. We completed out “audit” of the sales tax payable account and worked on some of the other accounts that we still had marked to look at. We pulled up an updated Profit & loss statement and Balance Sheet to look them over and determined that at this point we have done all we can until we have our meeting with the QuickBooks guy on Tuesday afternoon. The boss’s wife wasn’t happy that this meeting didn’t happen already this week but since he was out of town all week it was an impossibility to have the meeting this week. We then went through out backup information and wrote up notes on what we did and why we did it to include with the financials when we give them to the boss and his wife, the accountants and probably the bank. By midafternoon I told Judy that I would be willing to stay as late as needed today to finish what was needed in order to not have to drive in on Sunday. We both stayed until almost 6 tonight. The extra hour there tonight is the equivalent of the hour I would spend driving to and from the office on Sunday. The last thing we did before we left was to prepare and send an email to the boss’s wife to let her know that we wouldn’t be in on Sunday as there isn’t anything we can do now until after the meeting on Tuesday afternoon. Since she is only part time and paid hourly she is ending up with overtime this week because of the amount of time she has spent with me working on the financials with me. After work I headed to the cell phone store and picked up my new phone and the wireless charging pad and after fixing and eating supper I spent time setting up the new phone.

Our DIL has several plans for her and me tomorrow to “make up” for not getting together last weekend and for not getting back to me or showing up at the phone store Tuesday night. While we are out doing what she has planned DH will be at their house with his DS and DGD for the day. So, in the morning I need to get up and get ready so we can leave to be at the post office by 9 when it opens, fill the gas tank then drop DH off and pick up DIL so we can get on with our plans.

I hope all has a great weekend.
Thiry

Happy Friday all!

Sorry that I’ve been scare again this week, but things have been busy here the last couple of weeks. Yesterday we babysat again for the entire day. Took the kids out for lunch, and then to an indoor playground all afternoon, as it's been pouring rain here for the last three days. The ground is saturated and the grass is approaching half a foot tall, but no chance to mow until it dries out.

The storms on Wednesday were terrible. Kelly, glad you escaped the bad stuff! That front was really something!!!! We had tornado alert for almost an hour over a huge area. DS and family actually went to ground, and they got hail, torrential rain, and very high winds. We were ready to retreat to basement, but, thank God we didn’t get any hail, but got everything else. It continues to rain and drizzle, and we have had area wide flooding on some of the roads. We hit several of those patches yesterday while we were out and about. So as you can see it's just been that life has gotten in the way. I've also not been sleeping well, and so have been doing the minimum on here and been cat-napping in the afternoon when I can.

Barb, sorry the paperwork continues, but have to say I’m not surprised. Hope it ends soon for you. Hope Jas had his Wheaties this morning!!! That should be a real eye-opener!

Thiry, hope the meds have gotten you feeling better, and sorry to read that you have to work on Sunday. That stinks that the powers that be EXPECT that you should work on weekends, and this problem that took a year to be created should be cleared “overnight’?! Are laws being broken? That definitely “dilutes” the pay raise you received in this job, and I’d demand double overtime in the future to work anything other than a weekday. There have got to be state employment laws to protect you, salaried, or not. Seemed like things were going so well. . . I’d definitely make sure my weekends were “filled up” from here on out.

Kelly, I fully agree on the why bother to have laws if you are not going to bother to enforce them? Same way here . . .
That is dam scary about that shooting. I would imagine you are just “inviting trouble” by renting and throwing an unchaperoned party for kids. What were those parents thinking?! My personal opinion is that they know they can get away with stuff because of the political climate in the country and the lack of law enforcement. How about the HS shooting in TX this morning? I feel these perps are being paid off to do this, but that’s just my opinion.

Sunny, hope graduation was fun, and wishing you safe travels back home again.

I hope you all have a Happy Friday, and a relaxing, and enjoyable weekend.

Friday – Well hard to believe that the weekend is almost upon us! Another gorgeous day yesterday. Enjoyed it.

Jas is working from home today. I am glad. Have a few things I have to get done today, so he can “hold down the fort” a while!

Here’s to a great Friday.

TGIF

Thiry: Yes, Rylund is a joy.

I thought the paperwork was all completed as well, but NOPE.

Wow, that is not a nice side of the boss’ wife showing up. **SIGH** Hope it simmers down! You need your days off!

Kelly, Sharon, Sunny, Marsha: Here’s to a TGIF!

Hugs and prayers for our soldiers, families and our country.

See y’all @ 3 pm, if not sooner!

BARB – It sounds like you are having a lot of fun with Rylund. Sorry to hear that you are dealing with more paperwork for the estate again. I guess I thought you had completed all that and had it done. I am doing what needs to be done when it comes to DD. She needs support from somewhere since she isn’t getting any from down there. Yes, I am almost positive she doesn’t want to step on toes and have her sister decide to kick her out of the apartment. Yes, the phones waited until tonight.

KELLY – Sorry to hear that you are getting storms lately but glad to hear that they were short lived. Yes, I am starting to feel much better. Hopefully your zoning appeals go through. Oh, what were those parents thinking renting that house for a teenage party like that. Sorry to hear that there was a shooting at that party also. It has to be very scarry having that happen.

SHARON & SUNNY – I hope all is well in your worlds.

We have been really busy at work the last couple days. We have spent the last 2 days working on the Sales tax payable account. We have to figure out what states we are working with and then match those up with the payments that were made. We have been finding double posting of invoices with sales tax so there has been some overpayments on that. The boss’s wife is still pushing for the financials to be done. She is upset that I haven’t been remoting in at night and working on this from home. She also has been after me for the last 3 wekends to go to the office to work on Saturdays. She was in the office today and asked me if I could work Saturday and I told her no as DIL is planning some activities for herself and me since we ended up cancelling last weekend. That didn’t make her happy so she then asked if I could work Sunday. I told her that it wouldn’t do much good for me to go in and work alone as it is taking the 2 of us throwing ideas back and forth to figure things out. I told her that Sunday I would be in church in the morning. Judy said she would also but it was decided that we would meet there at noon and work until 4. When I got home tonight after meeting the kids at the store to get their phones, I told DH about working Sunday. He is absolutely livid that I am working Sunday. He said that is our day of worship and rest. I told him we have already committed to working this Sunday, he said this will be the only Sunday that I work. I don’t know when she thinks that I am to get my cleaning and personal things done if I am at work 6 days a week. She has housekeepers that clean her house which I don’t. She is going to have to realize that I can’t work 24/7 to clean up these financials that took a year to get as messed up as they are. She also needs to realize that in my life God comes first, then family then the job.

Have a great week.
Thiry

Thursday – what a gorgeous day yesterday was! LOTS of time at the park. Just beautiful.

Just cut the grass on Sunday and looks like it’s ready again. Ah yes – spring.

Pooped! Ready for the weekend already! But a little way to go yet.

Here’s to a great Thursday.

Kelly: On no on more t-storms!

Yes, Karlee is happy! She is good for John, he is good for her and they’re both good for Rylund. So . . . I just look @ it that way.

WTH! Parents rented a house for a party, and it was for teenagers WITH AN ASSAULT WEAPON! Couldn’t even begin to imagine what layer of the ozone those parents’ were in. Surely not one where their brains were even remotely engaged!

Sharon: Hope all is well by you!

Thiry and Marsha: Here’s to a good Thursday.

Hugs and prayers for our soldiers, families and our country.

See y’all @ 3 pm. Think it’s gonna be an Arnie day here, too.

Morning! Looked in on you lassies yesterday a couple of times, got distracted and thought well I'll say hi later. Well, I realized after 11p last night that I hadn't. I know enough not to be on the computer that late at night but did not want to check in before 4 when mother nature woke me up out of an already restless sleep.

We had some serious t-storms roll overhead last night, gladly they were short lived. We were all out on the restaurant patio watching the lightening off in the distance. Yes, we all know better but one strike was too close for me and I told them this chick was heading out. I am hearing Connecticut got hit pretty hard last night. Sharon I hope all was quiet around you yesterday.

Barb, that young lady is probably thrilled you think of her as a daughter in law. OH NO on more paper work...geez

Hope you are all better now Thiry!

Countdown to graduation Sunny. I know you are enjoying your visit.

Not much going on today, so will see all you all at 3 for an Arnie. It'll be in the parking lot waiting for zoning appeals hearings. There are a lot of folks operating short term rentals illegally, among other issues, and have been busted for it. Of course they are appealing. Sad thing is, they have been winning. Why have laws in the first place? Oh and get this incident from Sunday very early am at one of the weekend party houses. This place was rented by parents for a party for their teenaged kid, which was broken up by gunfire from a AK whatever shot from the street into the house!!! Three were injured by gunfire, three jumped through windows and were cut up pretty badly. Their permit was immediately pulled, ink wasn't even dry when they appealed it. It is reported there may have been 100 kids at this house. Rant over.

Hugs and Prayers all around!

Wednesday – Beautiful day yesterday. Spent a lot of time @ the park. Rylund was working on learning the fine art of pumping his legs forward and backward to swing on the swing. He is a natural climber.

It is hard to believe that there could POSSIBLY be any more paper to shuffle for the estate, but yup . . . MORE. Took care of that.

Hoping today is as beautiful as yesterday.

To Wednesday – mid-week. Going fast.

Kelly: Yes, I guess I’m a bit old fashioned, but can’t change it . . . so for now, DIL, I guess.

Sharon: Sorry to hear about the awful storms! Glad you and your DS are all right!

Oh my goodness, I think it takes a whole bucket of Wheaties to keep up w/this kid! Yes, John has been working since this past Friday.

Hope today is calmer for you!

Thiry: Glad your sinuses are improving!

Good job encouraging your DD. Can’t imagine she wouldn’t be upset w/her sister, but imagine she doesn’t want to “step on toes”.

Yes, kids these days do NOT think things thru. Well, guess their phone waits till another day!

Hugs and prayers for our soldiers, families and our country.

See y’all @ 3 pm.

BARB – Glad you had a wonderful Mother’s Day. Yes, I believe it was best to postpone the get together on Sunday. Yes, I commend DD on doing what it takes and I definitely know what it is like to work 2 jobs. I just hope that working the 2 jobs aren’t too much for her under the circumstances.

KELLY – the sinuses are getting better but still feel a little stuffy. I am using the nasal spray and taking the antibiotic as well as Mucinex DM. Yes, DD is definitely stepping up to the plate. I am also concerned that she can manage working the 2 jobs feeling the way she does. I am just glad she felt comfortable calling me instead of doing something drastic.

SHARON - It sounds like you have been really busy and sorry to hear about your getting the I bug. Yes, I am beginning to feel better after resting and sleeping most of the weekend. We actually haven’t been told the actual due date yet but know they found out that they were expecting around the first of the year so expect the due date to be August/September. Yes, I agree that the postponement of the get together was the best decision. It doesn’t look like DH got what I had as he doesn’t have the stuffy nose or cough. I did spend last night sleeping in the recliner as the elevated head made it easier to sleep with the congestion so we weren’t in real close proximity last week which was probably a good thing also. Yes, I do have multiple shirts to prove my having worked 2 jobs and plan to continue the positive reinforcement to her especially since she isn’t getting any from her sister. I’m sorry you didn’t have a get together with your son. The only one of my kids that acknowledged me for Mother’s Day was DD. None of the other 4 contacted me on Mother’s Day. Glad you are safe after the storms last night. We are still busy working on the financials and getting pressure from the boss’s wife to get them done but when we talk to him he is content to let us do what is needed and take what time is needed. He has talked to the bank and accountant to tell them what is going on and from what he says they seem to be patient and wait for us to do what is needed. DH is doing good, I don’t think he caught what I had last week which is good. Hopefully you were able to get a nap.

SUNNY – I hope your trip went well and that you had good weather for the trip.

It has been 2 really busy days at the office. After submitting payroll to ADP yesterday Judy and I started working on the financials again. We have found a few more problems. Yesterday we talked with the boss about what we have found and told him that at this point we believe we need assistance from the guy who taught the QuickBooks training I attended a couple weeks ago. He told us to do what we needed so we called him to set a time for him to come to the office and found that he is out of town this week so we couldn’t get him to come in until Tuesday next week. He was available Monday but I will be busy with payroll so felt it was better to wait until Tuesday for him to come out. The boss’s wife isn’t happy that we have to wait until then to get him out to help look at some of the things.

I left work at 2 today to go to my eye appointment which went well. No changes in my prescription so that is good. Just before I left I noticed a message from DIL asking if we could get together tonight to at least get her phone set up. I sent a message back telling her that I would but it wouldn’t be until about 7 when I got back from my appointment. As I was leaving Columbus to head back I sent another message telling her that I would be able to get to the phone office by 7. As I was sitting at a red light driving to the office I sent another message and another one when I got there. I also “shared my position” and let it go for 30 minutes before I sent another message telling them that we would have to get the phone another day as I was heading home. DH talked to his DS and told them I had waited at the phone place for half an hour only to find out that they were at the apartment looking for us. Now I don’t understand why anyone would send a message (through FaceBook messenger) about getting together then leave their computer and not be available to respond to the message in return but I guess that is the mentality of some of the kids of their age. I felt she could have at least sent a second message telling me they were leaving home and wouldn’t be able to meet as requested but that is just me I guess.

Well I had better get to bed so I can get to work in the morning and work on the financials again.

Have a great week.
Thiry

Sharon I was coming by to check on ya! So I am happy to see you all are fine! A friend's daughter lives in VA and they were at a swim meet when that storm blew through, scary times for them hunkered down in the locker rooms. Thankfully they had secure buildings to scramble to. There are delays out of Nashville today; we could hear the planes coming in from all directions way past midnight.

The unit is 15 yrs old, and it's been pretty good to us, hopefully this fix will hold for awhile.

Mornin' everyone.

Terrifying storms blew through last night! Tornado warnings, told to take cover, high winds that had trees bowing down almost in half! Everyone we know took cover in their basements, including us. DS said shy over his house was black, and they got hail, too. No damage to house that he could see, but going to have roof inspected. More forecasted or today, but not severe.

Kelly, sorry you're having to revive your AC. How old is your unit? We had no coice last year. There was a leak in the evaporator coil.

Thiry, hope you have a good dweek at work, and your daughter is getting some relief from her pain, and discomfort. How is DH doing?

Sunny, hope you had good weather for your travels.

Barb, hope you had your Wheaties this morning, and are ready for your day with Rylund.
Has John started his new job yet?

Well, off to start my day after a sketchy sleepless night of storms rolling through. Might be a nap this afternoon...

Have a trouble free Tuesday!

Hope you felt better today Sharon, YIKES!!! There really isn't an easy way to let them know the disappointment is there? If it was because you were not feeling so hot, he should have just said so considering his wife has been down for the count. Oh well, kids.

I wondered too if those two eloped. I'm not a fan of significant other either.

Thiry, hope the sinus' are behaving themselves by the way. That is very grown up that your daughter has taken a second job, gosh I hope she can manage that feeling the way she does. It is probably a comfort to her knowing that you are in her corner too.

Sunny, safe travels! Bet Rich is still flying high from his DC trip. OH and what handsome young men you have for sons!

I just read the repair estimate, I know it's late but I'm pouring myself a stiff one. If I'm going to be miserable might as well have company. Nitey Nite!!!

Sharon: Oh no in the GI bug.

Yes, it was a very welcomed surprise to get breakfast that *I* didn’t make!

No they’re not married, but I just hate the term “significant other” and they are committed. It’s just a different world!

YES, I am so glad he got a job quickly. PHEW.

The kids are definitely nuclear powered. Lord. I was exhausted yesterday. Just from ONE 5 yr. old. You had 2 kiddos.

That’s too bad that you didn’t have time w/the DS. **SIGH**

Here’s to a great week ahead.

Happy belated Mother’s Day to one and all.

I’m sorry I have not been on much this past week. Had kids until Wednesday afternoon, and got sick with some sort of intestinal bug until. Saturday, with some unexpected things happening, and Sunday I was just too pooped to pop, or catch up and post anything!!!!

Barb! How nice of your DIL to give you that daisy, and make breakfast for you!!!! Something you so richly deserve, but seldom get. What a wonderful surprise!
So, glad to hear that all went well for Jason with the meetings. Sounds like you are enjoying the family time. Did John get married and we didn’t know it? Am so glad to read that he and Rylund get along so well. Also, my congrats to John on getting a job so quickly, and I hope all goes well for him.
I hear you about the energy, Barb. Our DGS seems to be nuclear powered! I get exhausted just watching him! I would like a “daily dose” of that as well!

Thiry, I hope you are feeling better now that you’ve got some good medicine to knock ou the crud in your system, Good to hear that your mom is in a private room until all of that stuff is cleared up. It is wise to be cautious, even though they usually say it’s not contagious. What great news that your DIL is expecting! Congratulations! When is the baby due?
Thiry, sorry your get together had to be postponed, but I agree it was the best decision under the circumstances. Hope DH isn’t getting what you had, and is feeling better.
Glad your DD stepped up and is doing what it I right, whatever it takes. Working 2 jobs is difficult, and you have multiple T-shirts to prove it! Keep your positive reinforcement flowing to her, and it will help her get through it.

Kelly, I hope you enjoyed your brunch yesterday. Sounds very nice. I have an uncle who belongs to CC, and whenever we visit we always go to the club for at least one meal, and it’s usually pretty good fare, and reasonably priced. Sorry that you had to shell out to wake your AC. Ours has been on for two weeks now. The humidity is enough that we keep it set now until the frost returns. I do like that the nights are still cool enough not to run AC or heat. Not looking forward to the coming months ahead.

Sunny, safe travels today for the trip to Kansas. Hope the weather cooperates and it is a nice uneventful drive. I haven’t heard of those honor flights, and will have to check them out They sound really interesting. It’s nice to know that there’s a group that honors our vets and their service, and treats them with the respect and dignity they deserve. I hope your DH enjoyed the trip and the day. The Tomb of the Unknown is one of my top 3 favorite places to visit in DC - even though I get chills and it moves me to tears every time. It is such a sobering and moving experience.
Loved all the pictures you shared with us, too!

Marsha, I have to agree with Kelly, and I also hope you WILL take several steps back into the nearest soft and comfy, overstuffed chair, and have the full day off and let others do for you for a change.

My day was quiet, and no get together with DS which I found quite disturbing. DH cooked brunch, and then we went to our little neighborhood restaurant for dinner.

Happy Monday, and here’s to a good week for us all! emoticon

Monday – well back to the work day schedule. Busy week.

Had a wonderful Mother’s Day. Hope you all did, too.

Motivated to move today!

HUGS

Thiry: Too bad the visit was postponed, but sounds like the best decision under the circumstances. Hope DH is feeling better.

Well, your DD is to be commended on doing what it takes. Working 2 jobs is no fun (as YOU know), but it definitely is all about doing what needs to be done.

Kelly, Sharon, Sunny, Marsha: Hope y’all had good Mother’s Days.

Hugs and prayers for our soldiers, families and our country.

See y’all @ 3 pm. Think we’re going to have Duck Farts again. The kids love ‘em!

BARB – I bet the daisies are beautiful and bright. Oh, how nice to have breakfast made for you. By the time we were to go to DS and DIL I would have been on the antibiotic more than 24 hours but DH cancelled as he wasn’t feeling well this afternoon so we are hoping to get together next weekend.

KELLY – Yes, I figured that since the crud was hanging on so long it was best to check and make sure I didn’t have more than the crud. We didn’t end up spending time with the kids today, hopefully next weekend. I hope you had a good time with your son and his family.

SHARON – I hope you had a great Mother’s Day.

SUNNY – great photos from the trip. I’m sure they all had an amazing time. It doesn’t surprise me that the bus was late getting back as that seems to be the way most of those kind of events go. Nice picture of the boys.

It was a lazy day today. I got up and sang with the choir at the 10 am service this morning. As I was getting ready to leave the retired pastor that does the hospital visitations asked about DH. This pastor was the one that came to the hospital when DH had his quadruple bypass 3 years ago. He was hospitalized a few weeks ago and he and his wife jut got back to the choir since that time. They were greeters this morning and I guess when DH went upstairs to the sanctuary, pastor heard him wheezing so he asked me about it. We talked a little bit about DH and I was telling him about the office visit and the time since DH had to admit he needed to make some drastic changes or be in his grave in the next 5 years. I also talked about the things that have happened since. He gave me a hug and asked if we could have a moment of prayer. After that we parted and I headed for the car, seeing pastor’s wife sitting by the door so I told her he was on his way and that we had talked a little bit. When we left we headed to the gas station to fill my tank for this week then DH wanted to eat out so we went to Cheddar’s and used the gift card I received at the end of year party Wednesday night. After we finished we headed home and both of us were ready for a nap and both of us did fall asleep and napped for a couple hours. When we woke up he said he wasn’t feeling well so I suggested he contact the kids and ask if we could get together next weekend instead. I did repot some of the succulents we got yesterday but other than that the only other thing I did today was to run a couple loads of clothes so we would have clean clothes for next week.

I received a text from DD this evening wishing me happy Mother’s Day and asking about grandma. I told her what I know but told her I haven’t seen her since last weekend due to the crud I have been dealing with. She said she is feeling a little better and that she spent time at the pool the other night and was a bit sore from that. She also said that the first job came through just after she started the Panera job so she is currently working 2 jobs. I told her that it was great that she was doing what she needed to do right now to get through and be able to pay the bills and also told her that I hope that working the 2 jobs isn’t too much with the medical issues from the accident. She told me she doesn’t get paid until a week from Tuesday so she was doing what she can to make the half tank of gas last until she gets paid. I told her that if it turned out that she was running short on gas to let me know and I would put a little money in her account to help her through until her first paycheck.

Well, I have been wide awake since waking up from the nap, although I have had a touch of a headache, and am now starting to feel a little tired so I think I will see if I can get to sleep.

Have a great week.

Well Barb, you are certainly getting your pampering on!!! Can you see me grinnin' really big? I hope you take the day off for yourself. Goes without saying too, that goes for the rest of you. You all do so much for your families, take advantage since Hallmark says you can. emoticon Here's an idea, do it more than once a year.

Good you got yourself checked out Thiry. Also, this time of year the saline nose warsh has been a very good friend of mine this week. I agree with Barb on holding off. By the way Congratulations on the latest addition, when does the little one arrive?

Sharon, have you recovered from your Nana duties? You've been a bit quiet.

Sunny enjoy your trip. Hope you are back up to 100% again.

And Marsha, I do hope that for a change you have the full day off and are resisting the urge to do for others...

I'll lighten son's wallet, they have invited me to join them for brunch at their country club. Shoes required. Actually, it is a nice place. I teased him about joining it, then he reminded me we belonged to one almost like that back when we lived in Houston the first time. That is the extent of my plans, drive an hour each way, eat, laugh and be home by 3. I know, why bother, but couldn't find anyone else to get into mischief with around here. Yes, there will be plenty of laughter otherwise I'd be staying home. And they know that.

It is going to be another hot one, yesterday was not as humid not sure about today. I may have to hit the a/c on switch though. Almost did last night.

Hugs and Prayers to all. See you all at 3 on the porch, it'll be Arnie, forgot to pick up a libation.

Sunday – What a lovely day. My DIL gave me a beautiful Gerber daisy. Lovely colors. Had breakfast made for me! Wow! NEVER had that! Nice. I could get used to that for sure.

Cold here, still, but no precipitation.

Well, wishing all mothers, a wonderful Mother’s Day.

Blessings!'

Thiry: You're probably best to wait till you have the antibiotics in your system for 24 hrs. anyhow if your DIL is pregnant. She sure doesn't need a cold or sinus problem!

Sharon, Sunny, Kelly, Marsha: Blessings

Hugs and prayers for our soldiers, families and our country!

Hope y'all have a day of being treated like a queen!!!!

Love you all.

Well the nurse practitioner put the diagnosis as sinusitis. She gave me a prescription for an antibiotic and a nasal spray to help clear out my sinuses as they feel like I constantly need to blow my nose. She also suggested Mucinex DM for the cough. While they were being filled we drove up tot he shop to pick up the guitar as I received a call that it was done just as we were getting to the clinic. We then went across the street to look through the flower sale that was going on in the parking lot. We picked up a few succulents to put into a pot similar to the one they had there for $25.00 but we got to pick the ones that we liked instead of the ones that they picked. We then picked up the mail from the post office, stopped and cashed the mileage reimbursement check from work then to the store to get my medications. By the time we got home I was ready for a nap but I haven't fallen asleep since getting home. I have just been resting today while at home. Because of sitting and resting all day today my back is starting to hurt so I am ready to start feeling better so I can start exercising and get my back to feeling better again. DH son DIL wanted to get together for Mother's Day today but I asked if we could wait until tomorrow since I felt exhausted after the couple hours I was out. We are going to their place tomorrow to grill and spend the evening together after she gets back from whatever she has going on in the morning.

Happy Mother's Day to all

BARB – Yes, this week except for the end of year party for JH I have come home and crashed all week. Good to hear that Jason’s meetings went well. Great to hear that john found a job. That has to be a big relief for him and everyone. Still working on the financials and had a talk with the boss today while he was at the office to let him know where we are at with the financials and what we have been finding. He is being patient but his wife is still pushing for them to be done “soon” and asking if I had been talked to about putting in overtime to get them done. I am on salary so no matter how many hours I work I get the same pay every week. I did hear from my sister that mom is in a private room at the home until the c-dif is cleared up so I would assume that they are following protocol. Yes, I thought it would be fun to play a guitar. I had piano lessons for a little while as a kid but I don’t have room for a piano so the guitar is a good thing and doesn’t take as much room in the apartment. It sounds like you and the little guy have been really busy. Glad Jason made it home safe and sound and that the bad weather missed you.

KELLY – I’m still feeling crappy and coughing with some stuffy nose yet. Yes, the financials are a really big mess and Judy and I talked to the boss and his wife about that today at the office while we were waiting for the electricity to come back on. We explained what we have been finding and what we still have to get done which includes going through every inventory item to make sure that it is set up correctly as we found that some items are going into accounts that have been made “inactive”. Since Judy knows absolutely nothing about Quickbooks and I have very little history with inventory we are going to have to have someone come in to help with making sure that part is correct. I will be getting a minimum of 2 lessons a month (one per phone line) and with both our schedules it might be difficult getting those arranged for the time being. Oh yes, I remember the fun we had with silly putty. Hopefully things went well with the contractor. Here’s hoping that the solution doesn’t hit the pocket book too hard. We have had upper 80’ the last few days also.

SHARON – I hope things are going well for you and the grands. Also hoping that DIL is feeling better.

SUNNY – Good to see you and that you are doing well. Safe travels on the trip to Kansas Monday for the graduation. I have heard of those honor flights. They sound really interesting. I hope your DH enjoys the trip and the day. Time definitely has been flying by way too fast, that’s for sure.

It has been a busy week and not feeling well due to this crud that caught up with me hasn’t helped. Wednesday was spent getting payroll finished and checking on the credit cards to see why the AP person was having trouble getting the reconciliation done. I left work on time that day but didn’t head home as the JH end of the year party was that night. I went straight to the place for the party getting there over an hour before the party was scheduled to start. I sat in the bar area and had a couple shots of Raspberry Brandy to help with the crud I have been dealing with. It helped for a while but by the time the party was over I was feeling crappy again. The party was fun and I got to know a couple more of the JH tax preparers better. When I got home I crashed. Thursday and Friday were spent working on financials again at least until 10:30 Friday morning when we lost power. We found that a power pole a block or so away from the office was had sparks coming out the top and had smoke coming from the bottom. About 20 minutes later after finding out that it was going to be a minimum of 2 hours before electricity would be back on I called the boss. His wife answered and told me to have the staff hang out until the electricity came back on. We decided to go to lunch since we couldn’t warm our food there and couldn’t do anything with no computers. When we got back the boss and his wife were there. It was weird that she said that she called OPPD at 10:30 but she didn’t know anything about the power outage until I called her at 10:50. She also told us that they got to the office at 10:45 which we didn’t leave for lunch until at least 11:05. She also told us that when she called OPPD she put a rush on the repair and that she had been told it would be back on by 1:30. At this point Judy and I were talking with the boss about our findings and what we still had left to do on the financials. His wife came in about 2 and said she was letting us all go home as she now had been told it would be 8 pm before the power would be back on. When I left I headed to the repair shop to drop off the guitar to get restrung. I might me ready for pickup tomorrow, then the lessons can begin. I then headed to the store to pick up a couple prescriptions for DH and then came home. I had supper and then got in the recliner, leaned back and watched TV until I fell asleep for about 3 hours before waking up again.

I was awake between 3 & 4:30 this morning with storms rolling through. The apartment was shaking with the thunder.

DH son and DIL want to do something today for Mother’s day but I told them I would have to see what they say at the clinic as this crud is still hanging on so I am headed there to find out if it is something more than just a cold. If it is something more and contagious I don’t want to be around the DIL as she is pregnant.

Early Happy Mother’s Day to all.

Have a great day.
Thiry

Saturday – Hard to believe it rained all day today. UGH. Rylund was not happy but we had a PJ day and watched movies. Ok, we also put some music on and danced to keep moving. He’s got the moves! LOL

Glad it’s Saturday. Jas and I went out to breakfast. Everyone else was sleeping, which is fine. We will go out to supper tomorrow or BBQ, depending on the weather tomorrow, which looks iffy for BBQ'ing.

Sunny that is awesome on the Honor Flight! Was it your Dad that got to go too?
For sure the stories must have been something, and I am sure even your son came back wide eyed himself.

I know about how time flies, seems to go by even faster with the grands. Our grand niece graduates high school too this month. Mommy is having a hard time even though there are still two left at home and will be for awhile. Congratulations to the young man!

Lawd luv a duck, someone turned on the furnace yesterday and looks like the off switch is broken again today. It went into the 90's!!! Add to that the pollen is thick as a rug for some reason. I was going to the farmers market, decided I really did not need anything. The Log House had a fish fry fundraiser that is usually a lot of fun to go to, fried fish was the last thing I wanted in that heat; oddly enough even the sides didn't appeal to me. I'm not a fan of fried fish anyway but once a year is okay.

Speaking of the furnace, had the air unit woken up yesterday. A hit to the wallet, but will not complain because at 15 yrs old it could have been worse.

The contractor came by - was early at that! Good thing he had the business truck and the company shirt on, thought a very white Bob Marley was at the door. He offered some solutions so we shall see what the damages to the wallet will be. Oh well, didn't want to freshen up the inside or get a newer set of wheels anyway, winkwink

Sharon, Thiry and Marsha hope all is well there!

Have an awesome weekend, hugs! See ya on the porch at 3 for an Arnie...
