My kids came home from a band trip and informed me that the Holy Ghost did not go to bed at midnight because they and a nonmemeber friend had a wonderful and informative discussion after midnight. My 2 sons both said that they could feel the Holy Ghost.

I like the let's not and say we did. My husband says "Lets nt and say we DIDN'T" When he thinks the kids have a really bad idea. It is kind of funny. You know the kind of kid stupid ideas that made great sense before you turned 20.

Great topic. I think it is funny what we say to our kids and what our parents said. I think it is even funnier when my kids say family stuff.

While growing up it seemed like my mom was forever saying to us, "patience is a virtue". According to my kids, I said/say that quite a bit too. :-)

My mom used to tell us that the Holy Ghost went to bed at midnight, and that the Devil NEVER slept!

Great saying.

(P.S. I had never heard that the Holy Ghost went to bed at midnight. That's neat)

I had never heard that before. I like it.

ONE of many of my mother's favorite sayings was, "Remember who you are," as you walked out of the house on a date, followed by, "and remember what day you left!" That her way of reminding us that the Holy Ghost went to bed at midnight.

Thanks. That is a nice thought.

As a young child my mother would often say "Let's not and say we did"

The first memory I have of that was when I was 3 years old. We had gone to town and my twin sister and I had been treated to balloons at the pharmacy. There was a foyer that seperated the pharmacy from the entrance to the main grocery section of the store, and in the corner was a great big ol plant of some type that had sharp pointy leaves. My sister walked to close and her balloon was popped by one of those nasty leaves. She started to cry so of course I started to cry and kept saying we had to go back for another balloon. Mom said "Let's not and say we did"

I heard her say those same words many many times in many different situations over the years To me it always ment "Don't sweat the small stuff"
