Have you ever been checked out to see if you've got MS or some other neurological disorder? I've got MS and I can (and frequently do) trip on lines in the floor tile. Until I got sick enough to be diagnosed I thought that I was just clumsy, too. Anyway, just a thought and I hope that the swelling of your ankle goes down soon.

There was much rejoicing!

Thanks! This helps out a LOT! The swelling has gone down some, but the pain is still there... like an annoying little brother who won't let you forget that he's with you! emoticon I still have another week to go before I go back to the dr. I'll try to give the stationary bike a go...

Sorry to hear about your ankle. I know what it's like trying to exercise when your lower limbs are damaged. Check out the exercises for the upper body (many can be done while sitting) and some of the core exercises like the reverse crunch does not require the use of your ankle. Finding cardio exercises will be your biggest challenge. Until the swelling goes down, I think you might be hooped, afterwards you might look at some low impact cardio. After my accident, I was put on a stationary bike with very low resistance (lots of spinning and movement but no pain), and I also tried aquacise.
Hope this helps.

For anyone who knows me... they know I tend to be a bit clumsy. It's inevitable that not a day goes by that I don't somehow find myself running into a wall, tripping over something, etc. Unfortunately, I just recently fell down a couple of stairs. Now I have to wait two weeks for the swelling to go down in my ankle so that I can get an MRI done. This will let the dr know if the ligaments are torn and if surgery is needed (this is also the same ankle I've already had surgery on before for torn ligaments). emoticon Does anyone have ideas of any exercises I can do in the meantime that won't further injur the ankle???
