Sometimes I have to take a break from exercise, but I don't beat myself up about it, I just keep moving in some form or another, but formal exercise gets boring sometimes so I have to be creative.

I give in to some of the urge, but set limits.

Like today I bought a whole fruit pie (and I live alone). So I took it home, sliced it into 8 small serving, took out one serving and covered the rest and froze it. Now I can treat myself, satisfy that craving and make the temptation to overeat harder to fall for. (I need to take the time to defrost the pie before I eat it and that gives me time to rethink if I want to put in the effort.)

It also gives me a chance to think why do I want to overindulge. If I am bored, do something. If I am lonely, call someone. If I am hungry, I can find something more nutritious and easier to munch on (like the cut up veggies I have in the fridge.)

When you feel yourself slipping away from that very secure place...(the one where you are in control of your food and your food is not in control of you)...
