I will have a baked sweat potato at Lone Star with nothing on it. It is delicious and very sweat. If I could get them to bring it I might try a little ground cinnamon but have not tried to ask yet. I usually use less than a table spoon of dressing on my salads which I order on the side. The green have little taste so I like it with them but tomatoes, carrots and other vegetables are good without the dressing.
I think we have become so accustomed to sauces and dressings that we feel deprived without them. I also have dropped the gravy over my meat, potatoes and rice. I do use finadene, a local sauce made of soy sauce, diced onions, lemon juice, and hot peppers. Some people put diced avocado in also. It can be very spicy or mild.

Yes, surprisingly so. It's amazing how we can re-train our taste buds. PTL!

Oh, that's nice. We also use extra virgin olive oil to rub on our turkey. works really well.

Even though we didn't cook the meal, our daughter tried to keep it healthy for all of us.
LOW (or no) SALT . . . . apples were among the appetizers . . . . plenty of vegetables prepared in low fat or non fat ways, small portions of everything . . . .except for her home made dinner rolls. I couldn't resist those. That's were I was naughty. I had more than one of those rolls ....
Still, overall it was a successful healthy meal for Thanksgiving because I did not slather the rolls with butter or margarine. Just ate them plain.

We had a multi-family get together. I took a basket of tangerines, a vegetable tray and a green bean casserole and worked at eating healthy. I did OK but not great.
