I have been paying for a lot of our wedding accessories through the credit union and a major credit card. He will pay for the reception through his savings account.
We were lucky to have my mother pay for our honeymoon for a four night cruise. We will use any money given at honeymoon for excursions on the cruise. We don't have financial well to do friends.
But, even if you can have just $20-30.00 put away in a credit union then you can put a lot of the wedding expenses on a low interst rate credit card. The deposits into your credit union account can be used for monthly credit card statements. Once it is deducted out of your pay check for awhile ,you won't really miss it. It is money you didn't see any ways.
It is costing us a lot more than expected. Simple is very expensive. But the planning has already been started and no turning back, now. Wedding is saturday!

I totally feel your pain. My wedding is still months away, but booking everything has made me feel the burden of the payments yet to come. lol My parents are paying for the supper and the decorator, so that helps a LOT, but the venue (no church, non-religious) is costing me a small fortune, and the photographer I decided on is almost three times what I was planning on spending. It's very frustrating, but I guess that's the result of getting the kind of wedding you want!

I would if I could, but I can't. I have a mortgage and student loans and credit cards that all went into default after I got laid off last year (real estate paralegal at the time) and that was right after we got engaged and had booked things and needed to start paying. Now he quit his full time job to go back to school because he was in a dead end job that was killing him and I am the bread winner with crappy credit.

People hear the word wedding and the dollar signs start rolling through their eyes - seriously you can see it happen - I've been feeling VERY stressed about the money we are outlaying for the wedding and thinking the same thing. I'm under two months away and panicking about where the money is coming from.

Instead of selling your car try to get a loan or a credit card from the bank. Use that then you have time to pay it off after the wedding. You could even use some of your wedding money to pay it off.

We were the same way. When we got married it seemed like all the little things jumped up for us to pay. Little things including food like what we were going to eat for lunch. Things like that. But, we managed to make it through. It seems like the money will just catch you at the end. You just have to be careful... Good Luck!!!

I know how you feel and I still have 8 months to go!! As a teacher assistant, I can't work overtime so I will be looking for a part time job. We are in the process of buying a house and furniture so that takes a lot of money. My $5,000 budget for the wedding has now slipped to $3,000. We have decided to have a yard sale to earn a little bit of money. Other than that, I'm not sure what we are going to do to get some more money!! Hope things work out for you!!

Does anyone else feel like all of the sudden they don't have enough money? My dad is paying for almost everything - but we need to finish paying for our honeymoon and get everyone's gifts (and pay our regular bills) and all of the sudden we have 32 days left and I feel like I will not have enough money! AHHHH! Does anyone have any suggestions for how to quick raise a few bucks??? Of course it doesn't help that I had been getting lots of overtime at work and now there is NO OT! Could it be at a worse time?
