That's really neat. He is getting his cert now, and working in reading. He's got one more class to go.
Edited to say: Reading, PA-it's an inner city school, with lots of dominican kids...he loves it.

Awesome! I tried to convince mine to get something interesting....some kind of a design or even a double band but he likes it plain! This will be his 6th tat and if I get one it'll be my third......but not "biker" either. I'm a teacher too! What do you two teach?

We are totally doing this. My FH is a tat freak-kind of. We are both teachers-his aren't like biker tattoo's though. He has snoopy on his ankle, some from goofy early 'Army' days, and two ones from the last year. It'll be my first and only tattoo. He likes to take off his ring b/c he coaches baseball and wrestling, (so I was told...he was married before) and I told him NO WAY could he go ringless! So, as a compromise, he's getting the tattoo and I'll do it too. Don't know what we want though...maybe our initials too, or something?

For a registry, try myregistry.com. You can shop online at any store you want and add the item, picture included, to your registry. When your guests want to buy from it they click on the item and it automatically sends them to the item at the appropriate store for purchase. I really like it.
I am also registered at Sears.

I can and I will! Just try to stop me!

Awe, that does sound stressful. I'm not having either a bridal shower or a bachelorette party....no one has offered to plan or throw one. Just be glad that you're getting a party and remind yourself that it's not your responsibility, they'll get it together in the end.

I def need need to get on the registry boat asap!

I am feeling so stressed again.....geez
Well to make a long story short, my maid of honor (my sister) and my mom are planning my bridal shower and bachelorette party...the problem is my bridal shower is supposed to be in August..which is close now and my sister and mom are freakin procrastinating!!! What the heck! I don't understand why they haven't started anything!

Plus my mom is totally lieing to me! She told me that they started planning already but they can't tell me anything...which means in my mom's language that she hasn't started anything and she is just trying to pacify me!!!!

Then my sister-in-law said she wants to help out and threw some suggestions, and my mom gets offended! My sister-in-law is just trying to help.

Mean while my mom and sister are just thinking we have all this time in the world..hello I get married in 3 months!!!!!!!!!!

I just feel really upset now. Trust me I am not whinning, I am just hurt they haven't put much effort into these things.

That is really awesome! They can get pretty expensive. Funny enough, my fiance and I picked rings that happened to be the same price, so neither of us feels like the other got something more special.

I was thinking about doing 2 stores for the registry but I couldn't decide what the second store should be.

Got married May 30th, 2009!

Awesome! Me and Tony have looked at rings and actually picked some out, but we are waiting to get them. one of Tony's uncles offered to pay for the bands, which is awesome!

As for registries we are planning on registering at 2 stores. I'm thinking Macy's and Target perhaps???? I have to find out what to register for....heck probrably everything!

My fiance and I just set up our registry and bought our wedding rings on Saturday and I'm sooooooo excited. My ring looks sooo good with my engagement ring.

We live in Canada so our choices for registries are pretty different - we don't have Crate and Barrel or Macy's. I registered at The Bay (it's a big department store up here, sort of like Macy's I suppose).

Everything I've read in wedding books and magazines about registries recommends registering in at least three places. Is anyone doing this? In my experience with family weddings, most people have registered at only one or two and now I don't know what to do.

Got married May 30th, 2009!

If you have Bed Bath and Beyond or Crate and Barrel near you, those are awesome places to register...or Macy's is always good too!

I am also a florist, and I have to disagree with the comment about using lilies(respectfully of course, hehe) Lilies are very thin and fragile and wilt easily and if they are handled all day long, they wont last. They brown and shrivel up. Just a word of caution. I would stay away from lilies unless you use Calla lilies.

If you are doing white silver and black as your colors, why not use a flower that pops out? Like gerbera daisies..have you thought of having your flowers be differnt colors so that they do stand out? Or do you want them to be neutral like the colors you chose? You can do white roses, cala lilies, stephanotis, orchids, tulips(depending on the season)...then you could wrap the stems in a great silver ribbon and accent it with black ribbon.

If it were me, I would use some bright flowers to really stand out. I love love love flowers so thats going to be a big part of it for me, haha.

I had no idea machinists cant wear rings, it totally makes sense though!!
I think a tattoo ring is pretty cool! Do you want to get one? It may show through the other rings you wear though. You could always get a really skinny tattoo ring that way it wont interfere with the other rings.

Rings!!
So Cole (fiance) has finally decided that he will indeed get a ring tattooed on. He's a machinist and cannot were a ring and that made me kinda bummed. We bought him one to wear on the weekends but still....so I suggested a tattoo and he's totally in! Yahoo!
Now I have to consider if I will to.....I'm not sure just b/c I love my rings and plan on always wearing them...and you might see the tatoo underneath.

Anyone else doing this?

I am a florist but I'm npt having any flowers. My girls have paper umbrellas. As for flowers to match white silver and black, why not go with white lily's? I know they arn't as stunning but they are classy and elegant. Orchids, although you can get them in white are hard to arrange ina bouquet because they are so fragile and they would cost you the earth. White roses are elegant and easy to arrange although very traditional. You could break out of the norm and do something stunning. Have everything else for the wedding in black white and silver but have the bouquets really bright and vibrant. reds, yellows, stargazers, iris's it would have quite the impact. Just avoid stem dyed blue roses...they can bleed on your dress.

I can and I will! Just try to stop me!

I love stargazers!!! I am not good with flower combinations hahahaa, that's why I asked my mom what to do, she used to be a florist.
I'm having silk flowers, it's cheaper and my mom is assembling the flower arrangements.
If I think of anything I will let you know :)

Have you thouht about candles instead? I have fresh flower boquets, however have made candle centrepeices out of Votive glassess, candles and fake roses. I'm going to sell them on ebay after the wedding and try and re-coup some of the cost. (my decoration budget was only 150 AUD, but I reckon I can get about 100 AUD back from the centre peices, everyone says they look very professional and my MOH has asked me to do hers if she gets married!)

Black, white and silver are very elegant! I'm not sure about what kind of flowers it would go with...hmmm I would say red and white flowers would be nice, I will have to think more about that! Do you have any favorite flowers?

My colors are red, white and gold. I decided the girls would have white flowers and I will have red and white flowers.

Are you doing silk or fresh flowers?
