I am so glad I read this thread. I have never heard of anyone else having the vivid dreams and the weird far off voices before. I thought I was crazy. And I have also started with the horrible scalp itching. I even went to the Dr thinking I might have lice or something, but he couldn't find anything wrong, just suggested I try a moisturizing shampoo which just made my hair greasy and itch more. I've taken 120mg of cymbalta for over 6 years now and have tried cutting down a few times but everytime I do the horrible depression and fibro pain come back within 1 week. After 2 weeks lowering the dose I am a mess and begging to go back up to the full dose. About 5 years ago I developed gastroparisis which is a slowing or stopping of the stomach muscles. Cymbalta has been known to cause this. I have been on pretty much every antidepressant out there except the newer ones, I stick with cymbalta because it helps with the depression and the fibro.

Cymbalta didn't do anything for me either other than make me constipated. I'm now on Pristiq which is helping the anxiety a good deal but I'm still struggling with constipation, and doesn't do anything for my fibro symptoms.

Anyone have suggestions for dealing with the fatigue? That is my number one main fibro issue at this point; the pain/achy-ness is really secondary.

All Cymbalta did for me was make me gain 20 pounds and gave me nightmares that made me scared to sleep when I was coming off of it.

Smiles are contagious...spread them! ;)

I didn't have a good experience on Cymbalta at all. It made my depression so much worse, I couldn't sleep no matter how exhausted I was, and I was having some really strange dreams. Lyrica has worked well for me though.

I'm not playing a role. I'm being myself, whatever the hell that is.

I just started on an older antidepressant, and the first night of a small dose made a significant difference in my pain. I couldn't tolerate Cymbalta (muscle twitches and irregular heart beat even on extremely small doses.) Good luck to you...don't hesitate to change meds if you think it might help.

After a few more months, the noises and voices in my head are subsiding, or maybe I've just learned to tune them out better. There's still the constant eeeeeeeeee noise in my head. I've gotten used to that for the most part. I don't feel much relief from pain or muscle spasms anymore. I take a strong muscle spasm medicine, Baclofen.
The Cymbalta still helps the anxiety, so I'll stick with it for now.

I didn't have a very good experience with it. It made me very on edge and highly irritable.. I felt like I was a crazy woman. I have been on many many different type of meds for my Fibro and so far Lycria has worked the best for me. :)

Shirley, although I am sorry you are having some of the side effects, I a m glad that finally someone on here is experiencing the same thing. Mine is not the clock, but I hear music and voices like far away on a radio. I have lived here for five years, and this is new. I am very lucid, and totally aware. It is never like a voice telling me something. Then when I am cleaning, I would here voices near like in the house. It does not frighten me as much as startle me. I have been on the Cymbalta for three months, and went off of it a few days. Sure enough, the noise stopped, but the pain came back in full force. Googled it, and there are other incidences of this.. It is bazaar.

That sounds a little scary to me. Make sure you tell your doctor everything. Good luck.

At first Cymbalta 30mg a day worked very well for me. I thought it was the miracle drug. It decreased my pain about 50% and decreased the muscle spasms about 90%. Then it stopped working after 3 months. I've taken it about 6 months now. It started causing severe headaches, skull itching, different types of life altering tinnitus, and this is crazy but I swear the ticking of the clock now sounds like the clock is talking to me.
Cymbalta does still help my anxiety and depression. It also give me the most fantastic amazing and intricate dreams ! I've suffered with traumatic nightmares all my life but now I love dreaming !
I'm still taking 30mg of Cymbalta daily with mixed opinion whether the benefits outweigh the crazy side effects. I'll get my doctors opinion in a couple weeks.
