I have fibro and some of my tenderpoints feel MUCH better with pressure (mainly the ones in my neck and back). So that doesn't necessarily mean it's not fibro. I used to see a massage therapist that did a fibro massage and it was great at relieving my pain, especially the myofascia release which involves a strong pushing on the skin.

Good luck and I hope you find the info you need. One of the most frustrating things about fibro is that the symptoms AND what helps them is different for almost everyone!

Hey everyone! Hope y'all don't mind me picking your brains. My mother and I have some sort of wonky disorder that behaves a great deal like fibro (she does have a fibro diagnosis from a while ago), but we're both convinced it's not ACTUALLY fibromyalgia for a number of reasons. One of the big discrepancies is that the best way for us to find relief (beyond avoiding our triggers), is to APPLY pressure. For example, when my leg pain flares up, I will wrap whatever regions are hurting and I'm almost totally normal feeling. Same with pain in my wrists or arms. Whole-body pain usually results in a blanket-burrito and a desperate yearning for Temple Grandin's Hug Machine.

Do any of you know of any fibro-like disorders that would manifest in this manner?
