My hubby had to work today, so I got up early with him and got my walk out of the way as soon as he left. I't's good to have it done - it's supposed to be in the high 90's today. Blech. I'm SO ready for fall! :-)

Planning on vacuuming and dusting here in a bit, then off to take my mom grocery shopping. Hope you all have a fabulous day!

I haven't decided yet about the gym membership, but I did decide that I should ask them about a reduction in the rate. I've been a member for 6 years, and if that doesn't work, I am going to try the senior citizen discount!

I am doing better today. I cannot do sports for a month but can start up with yoga again. I am able to do full weigh and do not need anything not even PT.

Onicam, hope you're feeling better today.

Barbara, what did you decide to do? It's difficult trying to budget for stuff like that!

I'm so happy it's Friday. I just feel worn out today! Definitely looking forward to the long weekend. Work has been so stressful the last couple of weeks. Well, really all the time, but Health Care Reform makes my job a nightmare - LOL. With 2014 coming up, there's even more changes.

I have to make a decision--my gym membership is going up. It is a very small increase but I just feel as though I need to save money and it is about the only thing I can still cut out.

I am starting to panic again. I did just have the calm tea and then I got set off immediately after. I am not sure what to do right now. I am and have been listening to anxiety slayer podcasts which used to help. I do not know what to do.

Good morning all! I increased my walk last night and feel pretty good. I'm frustrated, though, because the scale had not moved at all, all week long. I"ve been sitting at the same weight ALL WEEK. I was hoping to avoid plateaus for awhile! So, I'm going to try to stay at the lower end of my calorie range for the next couple of days, and see if that helps.

My hubby hurt his shoulder at work yesterday. That poor guy can't catch a break. He's only been back at work for a few weeks after having knee surgery!

Off to work now! Have a great day!

I am having another anxiety issue again. It is a little after 8:30am and starting up. I have PT somewhere between 10 and noon. Right now the level is at a 5.

I had to take my car in for some very badly needed repair, but I walked home from the garage and did my Monday housework. I will have to miss the gym tomorrow because I won't have the car back, but I hope that I will get myself out for a walk before I do the laundry.

Today was a busy day. Hubby and I were out most of the day walking and taking part in various activities. We walked downtown and ended up with a total of 2 hours of walking today. It was fun. We did go out for dinner and consumed too many calories. The only downfall of the day.

Good Afternoon! I went back to sleep after hubby went to work this morning and had an awesome nap!

Now I've got to get a move on, do some vacuuming and mopping and decide what to make for dinner.

One of the good things about cooking healthier is that it is helping my hubby too. He had a back injury a couple of years ago, and has steadily gained weight since then. And about 2 months ago he had knee surgery, and put on nearly 20 pounds just sitting around the house. I'm truely worried about it, but don't want to make him feel bad. He would never dream of criticizing my weight. Anyway, I noticed this morning that his pants are fitting better, so the healthier meals are helping him, too. Even if he doesn't know it!

Daddy had another good day today - I am cherishing each one!

Doctor called me today with results of my x-ray - "arthritic changes" was the diagnosis. He made me an appointment for 4:15 pm Tuesday the 27th for a cortisone shot. I know the shots are not a cure all but I am desperate for some relief and it has not progressed far enough for a surgical intervention or knee replacement yet.

Happy Friday!

I have an unexpected day off today. I worked 4 tens this week because DS was supposed to have infusion today. But his white count is too low, so no trip to the children's hospital for us. Which means I have a whole day with no long drive and no work!

Kathy, glad to hear your dad is doing well!

PS. I just realized I sound kind of heartless about him not being able to get the infusion and getting a day off because of it. I don't really mean it that way. But as long as he's not sick or in pain, I'll take a day off and enjoy it!

I am hoping that my leg will let me walk. I am not sure what happened but I am felling it right now. I just took med so I am going to have to ease up a little and still finish my room.

running late tonight - sat outside with hubby while he worked on the transmission in the black truck (my nemesis - I will fit into the drivers seat again one day)

Daddy got through his chemo ok today - in fact he is much better than he was yesterday - I just love his good days - there aren't nearly enough of them!

Got my x-ray done - now to wait and see if the doctor will give me a cortisone shot or if something else is wrong with my knee

another day of chemo tomorrow - but it won't be as long as it was today - and I still got my workout in plus over an hour of walking!

Still working on my routines - but am getting them done most days and house looks better than ever

Today I went to the dermatologist for a few moles that were bothering me. I have a biopsy scheduled tomorrow for one of them that is darker and a bit larger than it was a year ago. I had a biopsy on the side of my face last year (another mole). It turned out okay. I am hopeful that this is also benign.

Kathy, hope your dad's treatment goes well today!

Happy Wednesday, everyone! Got a busy day in front of me. Working 9 hours, then gotta stop by the vet to pick up flea treatment for the critters, then off to get DS's weekly blood work. Then, have to make a dreaded Walmart run to pick up my mom's prescriptions and go fill her pill box.

Daddy resumes his chemo treatments tomorrow and I have to go for an x-ray on my knee so tomorrow will be a busy day!

Got my workout in this morning so I am cruising along

House keeps looking better and better....Daddy's physical therapy lady asked to use bathroom today and I didn't panic cause it was clean!!!!!

Good morning everyone! Have a fabulous day!

Kind of pround of myself. I almost always make the bed, swish and swipe, and unload the dishwasher. I do laundry at least every other day. But I really have been having problems doing the daily chore. I told myself yesterday that I needed to get with it, and I did! Not only did I work a 10 hour day, I managed a walk and swiped all the dusties from the bedroom when I got home! Yay!

Good Monday Morning, everyone!

I've got 4 10 hour days coming up this week, so I can take DS for infusion on Friday.

I had been walking on my morning breaks, and that has to end now since I have to use that break to go get DS and take him to school. I'm going to try to be motivated enough to get in some exercise after dinner in the evenings. My original plan was to get up early this morning and get it done, but when the alarm went off at 4, after a terrible night's sleep, that didn't happen!

Pretty happy about a 2 pound loss on my scale this morning! Less than 5 pounds away from my first small goal!

Woke up today and went to church. On the way home we stopped and ate brunch. I only ate half of mine. I worked on some laundry today. I also took a walk and helped DD with some moving today. I carried a few things but could not really do much.

Happy Sunday everyone!

Just got back from our Sunday "running". We went to 5 different stores, Dollar General, Rite Aid, Kroger, Grants, and Family Dollar - I walked through each one except for Rite Aid. I got over an hour of walking in!!!! Plus I got my workout in this morning. Still took a nap, but didn't nap as long as usual and slept good last night..

I'm ready for another week with Daddy - not sure exactly what the week will hold...we see his chemo Doctor tomorrow and she will give us the new schedule.

Hope everyone had a good Sunday and as good a week as is possible.

Today was pretty busy. We went to the hospital to visit our friend. His cancer surgery went well and he should recuperate well, according to the doctor. Had a great visit and some of his family was in from out of state. Hadn't seem them in years and very enjoyable to chat with them. Afterwards hubby and I went out to dinner.

Now I am trying to catch up on Spark and then play a game or two.

Ah, yes - Friday! I don't know why I still love them even though I've been retired for several years.

DH and I had a great walk on the river walk. Our halfway turnaround spot was at a park with a nice bench to rest on for a few minutes and enjoy the shady trees.

Jan - great news on lowering the metformin! I'm on 2000 every evening plus 90 units of levemir but my doc thinks I will be able to lower my insulin soon

Heather - don't fret too much on what you didn't do....just jump back in and get back on track!

Nola - hope your knee feels better. I know how knee pain does - my left knee never stops hurting and they have not diagnosed why yet. - guess I need new x-rays

Having a lazy day myself - Daddy nor I had any appointments today...so it has been a relaxing day. I did get my workout in and may even go for a walk later!

This morning my doctor's nurse called to give me the lab results and said I can now stop taking the evening Metformin.

I've been reorganizing the pantry and putting some things away. Could actually put a new tablecloth on the table.

Well, today has been better. Daddy is already feeling better from the effects of the blood transfusion. His final radiation treatment is tomorrow. (at least for now - who knows what the future holds)

My doctor visits have all went well lately - all results have come back in the good...have not got the results of the mammogram yet..hopefully that will be ok as well.

Got my workout in today...106 minutes total counting my walking. It feels good to do my workout each day.

I have a doctors appointment this afternoon. Just the three month Diabetes check. I expect all to go well since my last labs were good.

My dad and stepmom made it to town yesterday. We threw burgers on the grill when they got here, and had a nice time catching up!

I'm taking tomorrow off to go see my DS in St. Louis, and I'm pretty excited about that! I'm also pretty happy that the scale was headed back in the right direction this morning!

I saw a recipe for a smoothie with spinach, apple, and peach yogurt yesterday, and got brave this morning and decided to try it. It was surprisingly good, if you can get past the color! This was the first time I had tried spinach in a smoothie, but it's great!

yesterday was good going,though today hasn't been that good. Since i woke up with knee pain and swelling. But will try my best.

Went to my PCP today and she told me again about no bending pulling pushing or lifting more than 5 pounds. She also said to stay away from the fitness center. I asked her what I can do then. She said that I can walk starting with 5 minutes 3 times a day. And then next week add another 5 minutes until I am walking 3 miles a day. I also found out that my fibromyalgia is back and that one of the meds that the nurse practitioner from Rogers put me on was interfering with my other meds.
