My hubby and I have been touring and researching kindergarten programs for months, and finally settled on our top picks. Now, we just have to jump through all their hoops and hope they accept her! We're really, really hoping she gets into the Performing Arts Magnet school. I think it would be the best possible fit for her. Whew! I swear, I didn't do this much work to get into college!

My oldest is starting Kindergarten as well. It's going to be a really hard transition for her as she been homeschooled preschool. She is going to be in full day kindergarten and she acting up so much. With that said, it's going to be good for her no matter how scary it is. She will learn personal discipline at school. We were going to homeschool her but my middle child has to go to school and she sees what fun he does by his art projects.

I wouldn't worry about the art program being cut. The teachers still have to include art in their class because it's part of standards. It's rough on the teachers but they will give her a way to express herself.

My oldest is graduating from pre-K next week. She's all registered for Kindergarten in fall. I'm becoming anxious over her transition probably more than she is. She'll be leaving all her friends because all her current classmates fall in the next school district over. And she's going from being able to wear pretty much whatever she wants to a school with a pretty strict dress code. I'm not sure the best way to approach the changes with her. We were already discussing the dress code change with her and I know she's very distraught over it. Yesterday, the school district announced that they're cutting the art programs. I'm seriously concerned that she's going to suffer from not being able to express herself.
