I am nursing my 13 month old. Working on losing weight. I asked my doctor about making sure my calories are up for him to nurse but still enough to lose weight. He told me to don't add anymore calories because at this point he is getting most of his needs in food. Also my milk is so established now that it won't make a difference.

I nursed my middle son till 22 months when he self weaned.

I'm still nursing my son at 17 months. I have a difficult time losing weight when nursing (I know it should be the opposite!), but I still try to get in activity and eat well. At his age now, I don't really eat to keep up my supply, but just eat to feel comfortable. I plan to nurse until he self-weans. I've been slacking on exercise lately, but that's not any relation to nursing. We're just CRAZY busy.

My daughter is 1 now and she's still breastfeeding. Doing a decent job of shaping up at the same time. Breastfeeding doesn't prevent you from exercising. And I "limit" my calorie intake by eating balanced meals only when hungry. Listen to the cues from your body.

I did the same with my first daughter... I breastfed her up to 22 months.

Are there any other mothers that are currently breastfeeding a toddler and still trying to shape up?

I'm not about the weight loss but to get fit, so obviously I'm not on any kind of diet or restricting my calories. My toddler is 1y4m and I'm planning on breastfeeding her as long as she wants to but I still want to get my healthy body back.

I would love some support from others in the same situation and some mutual advice too.
