I love the preportioned snack bags- so things like almonds, 100-cal cookies, cereal/snack bars etc. I usually keep things like this in my purse so that if I am out and about I have something that doesn't go bad and is easy to grab.

Almonds in little baggies. They always fill me up but I have to put them in small portions.

My kids are huge on cheese sticks. They're a family staple. Apple slices are a biggie, and trail mix works wonders for us too.

Apples travel easy, but they can be messy so don't forget a napkin!

I agree- apples, bananas, grapes, cheese sticks, clementines, celery, and carrot sticks are all easy to eat on-the-go and store pretty well in a cooler. One word of caution- don't store your bananas and apples together. The apples turn the bananas brown like within a day.

Low fat cheese sticks, bananas, apples, peaches (when in season), hard boiled egg, greek yogurt, carrot sticks, fiber one bars.

Planning is the key to healthy eating on-the-go!

I have been struggling with my eating habits when I am out and about. Some people say keeping a mini cooler in the car, stocked with snacks helps. Is this true? What would you put in your cooler?
