I find weekends are actually a bit easi for me because my husband is home and can help prepare snacks and desserts for the kids...for me, prepping food for the kids all day long surfing the week can be the start of too much snacking for me.

Love the topic. Weekends are such a struggle for me. I'm either over-eating cause "I earned it" when I lose or gorging when I gain cause I am eating my frustration. These are bad habits. Monday through Friday has been much better though.

Before the weekend begins, I check restaurants online that I think I may need to go to and figure out what is lower in calories and I wouldn't mind eating. I also don't eat everything on my plate. If I think I could try to eat more, I'll request a box to come with the meal so that I can put food away before I start to eat it.

The same thing happens to me, I have tried to plan ahead. I also just try to make better choices. It is getting easier and easier to make the better choices. Not easy, just easier. emoticon

I noticed the same issue when I started worked perfect all week and then let it slide on the weekends. My biggest thing is we have people over almost every weekend where we do dinners and other fun stuff but it does get hard to keep track of those calories. one thing that I have really learned is just watch yourself. this weekend I had an amazing steak dinner with a caesar salad and potatos. then on saturday I had a bacon wrapped chicken breast all in all I partied and I loved it. The caesar dressing I found is made with yogurt and has only 25 calories per tablespoon. the bacon wrapped chicken breast i ate with only a salad with ranch dressing that was only 40 calories per tablespoon. If you are having a really hard time and think you can't control the cravings don't just make smart choices I lost 3 lbs last week and ate like a queen...also the spark people cookbook rocks
the dressings that I have been using are Bolthouse farms and you can buy it at walmart in the fresh food isle. Hope this gave you guys some ideas.

If at first you don't succeed TRY TRY again

I feel the same way. I do great during the week, but on the weekends is when I don't stick to my plans (I can plan ahead all I want, but it doesn't work out that way a lot). I am working on doing better at making a plan and sticking to it.

even if you do choose to eat fast food, now a days there are healthier options on the menu.
you can eat a salad with dressing on the side, or even carry dressing with you.
nuts are a good snack and easy to carry around. those 100 calorie packs are good, just watch the sodium content. do you have a good water bottle? sometimes just drinking some water
throughout the busy weekend will help with your hunger and your choices of food. this is tough sometimes, especially when you are busy and on the go.

Thanks for the tips @Flyingtofreedom! It's so tough when we are out and about running around! My family eats out a LOT during the weekends because we stay so busy, and I always find myself making such terrible decisions! I like the idea of packing snacks though and planning ahead.

plan ahead. that is what helps me. if we decide to grill out, i make sure i grill some chicken breast or something for myself. if stop at a fast food place, i usually will just get water until i get home and eat there. my biggest issue is eating when i'm not hungry. so i have made it a point now to wait until i'm actually hungry. i often carry snacks with me to help with hunger.
good luck. you can do this.

Hi guys!

I am relatively new to this group, so I will first tell you that I am 25 years old, the mother of two spunky toddles (Kendall (4) and Kinsleigh (2)), and I have roughly 100 pounds that I want to lose.

I do SO well during the week, while I'm at work and my children are at daycare. I eat balanced meals, make healthy decisions, drink tons of water, etc. But come Saturday and Sunday, when we are running around doing "fun" stuff, I always end up making bad decisions and gain back whatever weight I lost the week prior! Does this happen to anyone else?! Anyone have any advice as to how you stay motivated and on track during the weekends when you are out enjoying the day with your children?

Kelly
