when my daughter was 2 it was all about dolls, so we got a couple of the baby alive dolls with the stuff to go with, art stuff has always been a hit in our house and pretend dr set she would use it on her stuff animals and of course books, now that she is 4 for her birthday we just got her the tag pen for reading books and her grandpa and uncle got her a TON of playdough thank goodness for hardwood floors lol. for christmas we are going to maybe an outside ride on toy as we live in florida its never too too cold to go outside, art stuff she still loves her books as well not for sure on what else we really need to start thinking about it huh?

I was thinking about pretend cook stuff. She loves her tea sets and is always pretending to make soup/tea etc. would love to get her a mini kitchen but I just don't have the space.

My DS is almost 3 and his birthday is right after Christmas so we have twice the gift giving. Last year we got him a balance bike, a small train set and a Green Toys recycling truck. Other things he enjoyed this year were puzzles, duplo legos and lots of books. He also likes to pretend cook and build things with blocks of wood. (The random pieces of wood from the shop are way more fun than the real blocks he has.) He also has a small dust pan that he likes to use to help clean up. Although, he is less interested in that as he gets closer to 3. This year we're thinking about a tricycle and I don't know what else.

We've got tons of crayons and coloring books and artsy stuff too. Can't wait to teach her cross stitch. Right now she loves dollhouses and I never had one myself so I enjoy playing with her and listen to her "stories".

I love the dress up clothes idea too. She should get more zipping/buttoning practice too.

My kids loved the Little People sets. They make ones especially suited for little hands now, and they are durable. Both my son and daughter loved the Little People dollhouse. Also, my daughter LOVED dress-up clothes at 2, and still does. She likes the fancy dresses, but also doctor coats, fireman coats, hats, purses, etc. My son liked things he could push around, like big Tonka trucks, as well. My daughter wasn't as into things like that, but she isn't as active as he is, and enjoys spending time with her imagination more.

for my young ones, I buy items that are more for play and imagination. I don't spend a lot of money on them either, becuase most of the time, the stuff gets forgotten quickly or broken. We do buy a lot of drawing stuff, arts and crafts, and maybe some small toys.

We're getting my 2 year old the little people Disney princess castle. And my in laws are buying the princesses that don't come with the set (only comes with Cinderella and Snow White)

Any other two year old Christmas ideas/finds?
