Welcome! My advice is banish the diet word from your vocabulary. It's all about learning to eat nutritiously and passing good habits on to our kids. That doesn't mean you have to be perfect, but make good choices most of the time, limit the amount of the processed food in the house, drink water instead of soda, be active as much as you can, etc. Sounds easy, right? Haha! Not easy, but there a lots of resources and people around here to help!

Hi All!
I have been gradually and reluctantly crawling onto the bandwagon of weight loss over the last week. Today is the first day I feel fully committed (and feel like I can actually do it). I have never found losing weight so difficult until I had to feed kids at the same time. I am trying to start some healthy habits for us all without being too extreme and strict (which I tend to be when I am watching what I eat). Luckily my kids tend to eat anything (woo hoo!). I just want to be realistic and have meals that are good for a lifetime not just a stint of dieting. In fact, I don't even let my girls know I'm dieting. They are just 1 and 4 years old and they are perfect just the way they are. I just want to teach them good habits - not dieting. Any thoughts or tips?
Katie
