My daughter got a kid's quad for Christmas, so she rides it the first mile I walk, then usually asks to set in the stroller for the second mile. That's all I can do right now. It feels like such a work out because its rough terrain. My arms are actually sore from fighting my stroller. The stroller always wants to go left. I think I just need a new one. emoticon When I do bootcamp, she does it with me. I thought it was funny yesterday I was doing the low impact version and I look up and my two year old is attempting the high impact. emoticon

I use play time as exercise. Chasing children around the playground, put on upbeat music and dance silly and fast with my daughter, put the baby in the stroller or bike wagon and the whole family goes for a long walk or bike ride. I actually use my children as fitness equipment. I lie on my back, raise them up onto my feet and push them up and down for a leg press. I hold them, with my legs evenly spread apart and do small squats; I sit on the sofa and lift the little one up 5 to 10 times in a row for biceps, then push him up over head for shoulder press. Also, I use my daily routines like vigorously cleaning house or gardning.

I manage to get my workout in at my gym because I work there part time so I get a free membership and childcare is free to everyone. There is a 2 hour limit per day that you can use the childcare so plenty of time to get in a workout.

I would love to get a Wii Fit for our home!! The childcare room I work in has it and the kids love it.

If you can get a handle on it as the other member stated that it is "ME" time than it will become part of your routine. I also feel my workout time is my ME time- I am doing something good for myself.

That would have me hopping up and down even without it! emoticon I've asked for one for Christmas and hope I get one. You'll have to let us know how it goes.

I got a Wii fit today! I'm so excited. I'm hoping I can do it while the boys are playing around me!

I had a double stroller and I used to pack them both up and walk all over town with them. I also exercised at work, walking during my breaks, or while they were asleep, I had purchased an elliptical. Now that I have a spouse it's much easier, but the little one tries to do my Callanetics with me and it's the cats that get in the way! Also my gym has a daycare in it where they'll watch your kids for $5/each.

I'm a stay at home mom (for the moment anyhow) and I get up early and walk with a buddy before my hubby has to leave for work. We walk from 6:30 to 7:30 AM.

Now, I used to be the biggest flake when it came to daily exercise (I still can be from time to time-but not like before!) AND I hated giving up my SLEEP that early in the morning.

With that said, once I started walking regularly, it became my ME time. It was a time for me to get out, move my body, listen to music, chat with another adult, no kids, no house, no chores, no one but ME. I think that is what kept me so motivated to keep doing it, I wanted my ME time and I always felt better afterwards. Now that I have regained my health and slimmer figure, I don't regret the less sleep at ALL! =)

I try to take my boys for walks to the park but I don't think I get much out of it since a three year old doesn't walk very fast.

I like the idea of doing it after they fall asleep but it gets too late and exercising before bed makes me have a restless sleep.

So I think I'm concluding that you just need to tell hubby to watch the kids and make time for it. Easier said than done!!!

Stacy,
I wait until they are asleep or before they get up. I have some friends that do hourly care at the center three days a week and work out then. It is hard and it has to planned.
take care,
Pauline
