Gold Bond Powder works well. They have one out now that smells pretty good too. The doc told me to blow dry my areas after a shower and apply the powder or get an antifungal spray to try.

For us guys here...we have the same problems, usually under belly folds and in the groin area. I use a roll-on deodorant (Ban), and roll it under my belly on both sides. This keeps moisture from building up and keeps the folds dry and odor-free.

I read through this stream the other day in search of a product. Just FYI --- I found lanacane antichafing gel ---- works very well even after a workout. Makes the skin feel smooth and dry. Was about $9 at Walgreens.

I wash under my skin flaps and dry them well. Also I have found a wonderful secret to keep dry and prevent the yeast before it happens. It is made by "Monistat" but is not a treatment for yeast. ////////
It is called" monistat antichafing gel". it keeps sweat down , prevents chafing frpm developing or existing chaffing is able to clear up. if i get yeast i use the actual Monistat crem 1st then the antichaffing cream last. i have trouble with powder and cornstarch rolling up or getting gummy but the gel i mentions makes a very fine coating that is very smooth and comforting to my flap. also cost is around 5.oo at walmart. emoticon

The key for me is staying dry. After showering I lay on my bed in front of a fan, lifting my tummy/breasts up to make sure they are completely dry and then use cornstarch. When I have an incident and get "rashy", I do the same, but before putting on the cornstarch I use some hydrocortisone cream then use the cornstarch. I can usually catch it before it gets bad. But if it does, then the Nystatin cream/powder works great!

I have experienced the yeast in my skin folds on numerous occasions and have just recently gotten some relief. I have a new Wound Specialist who I see for occasional leg ulcers due to venous insufficiency and newly- diagnosed lymphedema, which I had never even heard of before! She discovered my yeast flare-ups and prescribed Nystatin powder for me in addition to some cloths that have silver in them to treat the yeast and I believe are available by prescription only. I use them under my belly and on the folds in my upper thighs and they have worked miraculously. It also helps to eat yogurt.

Every day is another chance to get it right.

Yeah, when the time comes, insurance will pay for a tummy tuck for me. I've been hospitalized three times now for skin infections. Heck, they'd remove it now if I would allow them. But it's too risky at my weight. My doctor says I should have it done when I'm under 400.

That pill is great butkeeping the moisture is the keey i dry myself well and when i feel i'm sweating i dry often i also use baby powder and nyastop powder which is like an antifungal powder my mom has the same issue but under her boobie... She had a right radical mysectomy on one and the prostesies she wears makes her sweat more now so she uses this power in the creases of her lymphnoid area that was her problem area and it works. I also was use tshirts cotten that have been torn up to fit my under my belly flap and change them up 2-3 times a day it keeps the moiture out. I know unless i win lotto evenif i loss all my weight i'll still have belly flap skin... i have no money for tips and tucks ;)

The doctor gave me a prescription for Difulcan (not sure about the spelling), one pill when u get it, then 1 more 3 days later. It took care of mine. It will most likely come back, but then I get a refill. I also use a blow dryer after a shower, to help get those places dry.

As an apple shape I carry most of my weight in my belly, which results in the fabulous belly flap.

I use an anti-bacterial wipe first; it stings but I like knowing the area is cleaner. Next, I apply calamine lotion (the pink stuff for poison ivy) with cotton balls. The calamine lotion dries and stays put in the area until you wash again.

This has always worked really well for me and is really inexpensive. Cheap anti-bacterial wipes cost about $1.50 and I find the calamine lotion for $1 at Dollar General. emoticon

The following fruits cause yeast to flare up. I don't know if you eat lots of these fruits or not but hope this helps: Fruits that are high in fructose sugar as well such as, cherries, grapes, bananas, dried fruits, raisins, tangerines, mangoes, prunes and pomegranates.

I use Wal-Mart brand baby powder with corn starch! I use it liberally after showering! I find even if you have small flare up it does not irritate like a powder that has talc.

I'm going to throw something different out there. I have a huge belly apron and haven't had yeast infection ever. I use avon skin so soft bath oil. After I take shower I rub it on like lotion and under the belly. It does work and it also makes you smell so fresh. My doctor even commented on the fact that I looked and smelled fresh. I gues he thought I would fit the mode of being fat and funky. but seriously this does work. Give it a try.

I have suffered from this too, yet I have done much better over the past 6 months. I, like Ashbug 1 use the deodorant thing.

I keep a small towel for "just those places" and I keep a deodorant for the "folds" and another one for under arms. I use an anti perspiration solid. After your shower, pat dry and use the deodorant. I do it under the boobs and under the tummy fold. I have been clear for the past 6 months and that was over summer.............my worst time!!!

Try and air dry by laying on your bed with your problem areas open. Yeast likes the warm dark places so once you let the air circulate and have it dry this should help.

Wish you the best!

Watching salt intake also trying not to buy foods that have high fructose corn syrup, sugar, rice syrup, corn syrup, fructose, sucrose etc. in the first three ingredients.

No foods that have more than 3 ingredients that I can not pronounce.

If an item has more than 10 ingredients I put it on the Do Not Buy List as it is too processed.

I use Monistat Chafing Relief Powder-Gel, it goes on like a gel but dries immediately to a powder soft. It contains Dimethicone 1.2%. In Canada it comes under the brand name of Lanacane... Bactroban antibiotic cream also helps me. Hope this info will help you or others who read this. Hugs, Wilma

Nystatin powder works well if you can get a perscription from your dr. Other wise I have seen good results from calmoseptine cream. It is over the counter and I know that target and walgreens carry it. But keep doing the things your doing and add the t-shirts.

Cut a cotten t-shirt (soft and absorbant) and place in the fold area to keep dry. Dr. told me to do i used to get it underneath my belly flab I take old tshirest and cut them into strips they work really well and just change them up 2-4 times a day depending how sweating you get. As for a powder call Nystatin Powder it's better then the creams (creams keep moister in)

I'm...

#1 Showering every morning
#2 Wiping down every evening with a fresh washcloth
#3 Using anti-yeast/fungal cream at night
#4 Taking an oral anti-yeast pill
#5 Taking Acidophiles pills daily

Any other suggestions? I'm at my wit's end.
