Yvonne - Congratulations (?) on your work anniversary. It's great that you usually love your job. Sorry to hear about your co-worker who drives you crazy though. On your plateau - it's hard to say without knowing what you're doing but maybe add intervals to your exercise to kick it up a notch if you aren't already doing that?

Hi Everyone:

I was wondering about Dusty myself. Haven't seen her in a while. I've hit a "plateau" and it's very frustrating. Warming up here in Wisconsin so plan to start walking at night with the hubby and dogs. I need to "kick start" my weight loss again. Any suggestions?

I am celebrating(?) 39 years with my company today. For the most part, I love my job but when systems don't work it is very frustrating. Have one co-worker that is driving me crazy also. Need to log back in for a bit and clean up a "mess" she left me.

Everyone have a good evening.

Hi Everyone!

My goals - keep doing what I'm doing but I got a bit lax with food and water to the end of the week so getting back on track there. Exercise has actually been really good. Of course now that I said that I've probably jinxed myself and it'll be an awful week. emoticon

Cat - I'm sorry to hear you couldn't recover all of your stolen money. Though being more financially aware is always a good thing, I'm sorry it had to come from a bad thing.

Frances - I hope you can move to a better work environment. Everyone doesn't have to like everyone but a level of respect is necessary. I hope this new opportunity pans out.

Happy Sunday!

Melissa - Financially, things are tough right now, but in a way, this was a wake up call. Having to do all that fraud paperwork made me think about my finances and about security. So ... lesson learned. I got back some money but not all.

Frances - I love Hammock Kitten! Too cute! I'm sorry to hear about the job stress and hope this other opportunity pans out for you. Fingers crossed!

Does anyone have particular goals for this week?

Been so stressed at work the last 2 nights that I thought I was going to blow a fuse and smoke was going to come out of my ears. LOL. Seriously though this was the wrong week to mess with me since I had a lovely visit from TOM. I got myself a nice sweat Wed & Thursday before I went to work. However, I was rushing to get to work. I have to work better at waking up earlier and getting myself together to work out with time to spare so that I am not rushing out the door with a sandwich in my hand for my dinner.

On a good note: I was made aware of a potential job. Got to get more details about it, but I think I am going to apply. I haven't been the happiest camper since October at my current employer. Been with them since 2007 and have been in my current position for 3.5 years. There is a serious lack of respect. When I see those under me having no respect for each other and then I see the management team not practicing what they preach.. I just want to scream. I am from NC and people were never like that where I worked.

Now I am off to bed. Been up since about 5pm yesterday. Had to run some errands right when I got off from work. This left me with a burst of energy and I was not sleepy. Now I hope I pass out until tomorrow morning. Gotta be up and out the door by 0915 for my Weight Watcher's meeting

Have a great day

I stayed the same this week. I'm cool with that.

I'm trying something different this time with changing my lifestyle. Instead of doing a hardcore complete diet overhaul that I can't keep up with I'm trying incremental changes. Right now I'm just focusing on drinking more water and eating only when hungry.

For exercise goals, Ideally I'm trying to get in at least 10 minutes at least 5 days a week aiming for 120 minutes a week.

emoticon Yvonne ... our journeys are really similar ... I'm 2.7 pounds away from hitting the 100 pounds loss that took 3 years also and 15 pounds away from hitting my halfway mark as well emoticon
Is it just me though or do you guys find that even when you lose on the scale it doesn't really show in measurements ?
I noticed a huge difference in my clothing ... lost my pants again while walking this time. I'm in between 2 sizes and the smaller size doesn't fit me yet but I don't own any pair of pants in the in-between size and don't really want to spend the money to change size again in a couple of weeks. Those jeans were brand new too. Someone else will be able to enjoy them now emoticon

Frances great job on the workouts. I love Leslie's workouts. It's doable for me and yet I do sweat a lot and the HR goes up a lot as well.

Melissa I hope you have an awesome week.

Frances - Way to go on the exercise! I don't know which WATP I borrowed from my mom but it kicked my butt. By the end it was less walking in place and more shuffling in place but that's still movement right?

I'm doing alright. I had an awesome last week but not so much this week. Is it so much to ask to have a year where I don't have mystery symptoms of some sort that freak me out. Since I'm a bit of a hypochondriac I always do watchful waiting (while staying depressed and freaked out unfortunately) because doctor visits are expensive and my symptoms almost always resolve themselves.

Just added exercise into my weight loss journey, which started 12/26. I exercised 3 times last week. I am doing the Leslie Sampson WATP (Miracle miles). I did the 3 mile walk today and I swear she was trying to kill me. I wear a heart rate monitor with a strap around my chest. Max HR was 185 and Aver HR was 170. Yeah I know the HR is a bit high, but I did decrease it when I felt like it was too much. My face stayed red for almost 30 minutes afterwards.

My goal is to exercise 4-5 times this week. So far I'm off to a good start!

So close and yet so far: I am 6 tenths of a pound from hitting the 100 pound milestone. What a journey this has been. Three years and a lot of up and downs. Another 15 pounds and I'll be halfway to my goal. A few people are actually starting to notice, too.

Hope we'll have a new contest soon. The challenge always helps me stay motivated.

How is everyone else doing?

Yeah, it's a Monday. I've been down and out the last three days with the creeping crud or something. emoticon Whatever it is includes fever, cough, headache, high blood pressure. I've been taking Nyquil for cough supression, drinking water and orange juice for hydration, and switching off between Excedrin dn Tylenol for the headache. And this morning I feel a bit better...but I'm not going to jinx myself by saying anything else. emoticon

This will be my first illness in a year. Overall, not bad I guess.

More fun facts about leap year.

Leap years are not in century years unless it's divisible by 400. That's why 1900 was not a leap year but 2000 was.

Without leap days, the calendar would be off by 5 hours, 48 minutes, 45 seconds each year. After 100 years, the seasons would be off by 25 days.

BUT leap years actually compensate a few seconds too much. Every 10,000 years it'll have accumulated 3 extra days.

A little trivia regarding February 29 - Leap Year!

Why do we have Leap Years?

The number four seems to play a special role in the passage of time. The time of year can be defined by one of four seasons, there are four phases of our Moon, and our measurements for time (a minute, an hour, a day) are all divisible by four. We also tend to experience major, world-wide events in a four-year cycle: the Olympics, the World Cup, and the Leap Year. We see February 29th come and go, but have you ever wondered why its there? Why is there an extra day added? Why not keep it simple with 365 days every year?

It begins with the length of time it takes the Earth to complete a full circle around the Sun, also known as a solar year. It turns out, our lovely Earth takes approximately 365.242 days to complete its orbit. Rather than adding a quarter of a day every year, a whole new day is added to the calendar year every four years. This correction was first introduced in 46 BC with the introduction of the Julian calendar. If a year could be divided by 4, it was a Leap Year. Now you know! (If you didn't already)

Today I am starting over with a clean slate. Yesterday is past. I hardly eat any sweets cause I am diabetic yesterday I went overboard with the sweets had such a bad stomach ache and my B/S was through the roof this morning.I will have to adjust my insulin accordingly. I have to be more honest with myself and log EVERYTHING I eat.

I have a lot on my plate right my mom is still here but not much time left and my sister I just found out has blood clots on the left side of her brain. I will be helping my sister. I know what is going on with my life right now doesn't give me the green light to eat anything I want.

I have reset my goal so here I go!!!

Pretty snow!!! :)

We have gotten a couple storms in Cincinnati this year so far...

Last Sunday we got about 1/2 Inch and then on Wednesday we got another 1/2 inch or so! We are predicted to get very little of this huge storm blowing through the eastern parts of the country .. they are saying we could get up to 2 inches! Which is a huge deal for us, we are actually closing early today at 12:30 so I'm finishing up some work to getting ready to start that weekend!!! :)

Hope you guys are all well..

Good afternoon everyone! Water has become my friend! I read somewhere if you crave water ~ it's a good thing! The article also stated for my size, I should drink at least a gallon. Sounds a lot but very do able. I'm a Canadian so 1 gallon = 4 Liters = 16 cups : 8oz = 1 cup. So I need to drink 8 LARGE glasses of water a day. Done. My struggle is how good food taste. I can't get enough of it. Portion size, right?! Easier said than done. So this week for my meals I am going to measure my food on my plate, first drink a large glass of water and have a second on for during a meal, cut everything in small pieces and eat a fork full and then count to ten slowly. Did I mention I put the computer in the basement?! Increasing movement. This weekend our family went shopping and I walked in two super stores without finding a sit! I am enjoying the little things that I use to enjoy that I have not be able to do in the last few years. Looking forwards to living again!

Angela,

I've been journaling my food and I've gotten my calories up to 1500 to 1800 a day. I'm trying to be okay with that.

I start a weekly distress tolerance group tomorrow morning based on DBT skills. DBT has helped me tremendously in the past. In two more weeks, I'll start seeing my therapist weekly.

I'm hoping with that support that I stop having a battle in my head every time I try to eat something.

I have a question-when you put your exercise on your fitness tracker, how do you find out how many calories that exercise burns if its not listed when you click search? Right now I am doing a sitting video which was on there, but I am also doing a bodyblade workout and its not listed so I got no calories burned for it. If someone can explain-Thanks!

Good Morning! I'm getting ready to head out and shovel some snow! Winter arrived with a vengeance last night. It was in the 50's and raining yesterday afternoon. This morning it's 7 and snowing. Ugh!

Sometimes it really sucks being the only one in the house that's healthy enough to shovel snow! emoticon With Spencer's rheumatoid arthritis and Ben's bad back and leg, that leaves moi! Oh well, the exercise will be good for me! I'll get plenty of it too - as soon as I finish up here, I have to head up to the shop and take care of it there!

Hope you all have a great day!

Hi Nora,

I am going through early menopause now and my emotions are nuts. I have always been an emotional eater so that really makes it worse...well, I am an emotional eater, hedonic eater, whatever reason there is for eating...I eat. Heck, I even eat when I am not hungry or emotional. *sigh* I am learning that about myself lately.

Please try to be careful about limiting your intake so harshly. It is really bad for your body and I know that you do not need additional issues. If I am learning one thing...it is that losing weight is not easy, it might be simple (more movement than calories) but it is not easy!

If you are anything like me, you have childhood food issues, young adult food issues, current food issues and all of this has to be dealt with at some time or the other.

I hope that you know that you have done so great with your weight loss!! Try not to beat yourself up over things...you are an amazing person! I hope that your therapist is able to help you with this and that others are able to chime in with encouragement as well. You are a super woman and just know that you can do anything!

Too many calories today, but 95 minutes of walking today should help minimize the damage.

Be active Eat more veggies, whole grains and fruits. Love who you are!
