What program do you use and why? Do you use a App?
I used the C25K App ( by Zen Labs) and completed 5K May 6, 2012. After that race I downloaded an App( Zen Labs) for a 10 K and that is what I am doing now but it started off with the C25K program again and then just continues on until I can run a 10 K. I am starting to wonder even though I have built on increasing my pace. I am feeling that am I loosing endurance of doing the distance. Yesterday I tried to run and I found that I had to run 10 mins and walk 90 and start again I only went about 2. 25 K but at a faster pace than when I did the 5K so I really do not know what to do. The Half is this October coming. The other part is that the other reason why I started doing the C25K again as got my daughter age 16 and mother age 64 running doing the C25K. So I am not sure how I can run with them as I really want to keep doing and how to balance that with what training I need to do to train the the half.
I walked my first Half Marathon last year as that was my goal but at the time I have not trained enough. Your right when I crossed the finish line no mater how I crossed it I did feel that I had kept the commitment to myself and It was a fantastic experience. I was last but I think I was the most excited. There was a group of women that where strangers, that came out to meet me and asked if they could walk over the finish line with me. They had heard I was still walking and the race was long over. The Time Keeper actual stayed at the finish line and clocked me. What an experience I will never forget and it is definitely the one that has hooked me for life.
