mel- welcome back, sorry about the pup. sourdough bread please send some my way.

renee- way to go on signing up for the 5k, it will be the first of many

trish - maybe he is following you, now you always have to watch what your doing. big brother is watching.

coops - 9:59 vs. 12:35 hummmm glad to see you are following the program that you searched so much for. you have speed work scheduled for wednesday, now what are you going to do since you should not do 2 speed workout per week, which is what i would consider your workout today.......be careful from your friend T.M.

ran 4.25 today, did a hard 5k to get a base of where i am at, 26:50 ap 8:52, first 1.5 miles 9:02 pace, second 8:21 pace then finished 8:03 for the last tenth. i'm happy with that but need to cut 4 minutes off to get back where i was in January and 7 minutes to reach my goal of 19:59. slow and steady, add the miles and the times will drop.
need to stretch out tonight legs a little sore, probably take next two days off to recover, use the time to walk the pups.

night all

Hey guys,
Just a quick check in...back in a while for more. Funny thing today: the kids and I went to Naramata May Day celebration - it is very traditional with a grade 5 May Queen, and may pole dancing etc. Well, the afternoon has races for kids and adults (three-legged, sack race, sprint, one-shoe race, etc). So we get there about 15 minutes late, and as I make my way to the kids park area to find a seat, I look to my left, and it is my beloved Brad (sports med dude)...there was no pretending to be ok today!! I did do the three-legged race with my kidlets (got the look, but he didn't say anything). Funny how my people even show up when I don't expect them.

Gotta fly, back later tonight.

If all you get is all you give, then you should only give all you''ve got.

Hi! My day off has consisted of-a 5.5 mile run at 10:15 avg pace-giving the two beasty dogs a shower (yes that's right, a shower-too darn big for a tub!)-lots and lots of laundry-and-I FINALLY cleaned out my closet!!!! Next is dinner (that's Bobby cooking on the grill) and then the nice clean pups go for a trail hike (hopefully I can keep them out of the creek!) My darn legs are tired from the 8 miler Sat and then today's run. Tomorrow I have an appt. for a cut, color and highlights (aka-the works) after work so maybe then they can get a rest!
Welcome back Mel!
Doris-I hear ya, don't check in on RR and you get way behind.
Beth-don't worry, Bobby isn't mad at you. He is just busy and hasn't been on to post. (I have been calling him thong man too now!)
Nera-I am with you on the oatmeal. I have tried and tried but can't choke it down. I will have to try some of the different ones suggested. For me it's also the texture and the no flavor. Bobby likes it tho!
Gonna go make some phone calls about the wedding. Trying to finalize plans. It looks like it's going to be a pig roast! This is my kind of wedding. Outdoors in the park, with beautiful surroundings! If I could just get these two motivated and organized-Holy Cow they are procrastinators!

Hello all,
Wow! Lots to catch up on. Great to read so much support and thong stories to boot!

I'm registered for my first 5K to benefit my local Veteran's Outreach Center. This means I'm committed! I'm stil walk/running but it is W2D1 on the coolrunnings plan. I repeat the first few weeks as I get into this.

I have the voice of Dorie from Finding Nemo in my head today. instead of "swimming" it is : "Just keep running...just keep running".

Coopsm: I'm in Rochester!

Have a good day everyone, Renee

Each day is an opportunity to do something different.

Hi team. Sheesh, I don't go on-line for two days and it takes an hour to catch up! Yikes.

Nera: I feel your pain about the way your son treated you. It does get better, eventually:) I am hugging you!

Far too much to comment on. It seems that most RRs are on track and doing well. Phew.

Happy trails,

Welcome to the team Kayakid! Thank you for the hello.

Neraus, are you familiar with Red River Cereal? I don't know if it's available in the USA but I just cooked up oatmeal using 1 cup Red River & 1 Cup oats with 6 cups of water and a heaping tsp of cinnamon. It's lovely! The Red River is a mixture of little grains and it adds some texture and flavour to the oats. Maybe try your local bulk store for some to see if you like it. It looks like bird seed but I like it. Bob Red Mill cereals may have something simular to add.
Today I added a 1/2 cup of blueberries. I like Cassie's yogurt idea.

As Cassie said, it's a long weekend in Canada. Today I'm catching up on housework, baking sourdough bread and I'm going to fit in an awesome workout!!!

Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.

Nera, I put a yogurt into my oatmeal. It gives it a little bit of sweet flavor, but still is healthy and gives me a serving of dairy products (which I have trouble fitting in).

Still working (day 8 of 12). I really wish I had today off. It's the long weekend in Canada.

Good morning everyone. I tried oatmeal this morning. Subtle nutty flavor my aunt fanny. Oatmeal has no flavor. At least this stuff was a gooey gloppy mess. Still not sure if I am going to try this again. I bought Silver Palate rough and ready oatmeal. I think that is what it is called. Anyway I am off to work.

Good Evening everyone, I want to thank all the good wishes from my race/Run yesterday and all the nice comments on my blog.

Nera - I love biking and find that I can almost do both in the same day. I live in very hilly area and biking is a great workout but it is different. I guess it depends on your fitness. I am pretty fit for 52 years old and do alot. Listen to your body. Sorry to hear about your son and his treatment of his mother, that is hard. teenagers don't always use their brains. I have a 16 year old son and sometimes I wonder what was he thinking on some of the things he does. I am with you if they woiuld do their homework I would be happy. I think you'll be happy with the food tracking on spark. It has made the difference for me in the last 2 months.

Mel - Congrats on completing your 10k. You can do it!!! Nice to meet you. I have only been a member of spark for 2 months, but I have found great friends to help each one of us. good luck to you.

Beth - Happy 17th - that is a great accomplishment. My wife and I celebrated are 29th this past march. Great job in sticking to your plan and your training. You will do great on your 5k.

Trish - Was today mother's day. It sounds like your kids treated you like it was. Moms should always be treated like that. I have a 5k in 2 weeks and a Hike with my YM on 6th of June. Hamilton Mountain in the columbia gorge. Elevation gain of 2600' They love it!!hehe

Cassie - Looks like work is a Marathon! We will be there to give you a party at the finish line.

Tanya - Try to be positive. You can do it.

Anne - Loved the thong story!!! I don't think I could wear a thong. Even as a joke. Great run you had with bobby.

Bobby- Thong man More guts than I have. great job on your run keep it up. I look foward to longer runs but I am taking it slow.

Mary Anne - I started using the food tracker when I joined Spark 2 months ago. I had been at a plateau around 230-235. I am now around 215-220 I credit that to tracking food. good luck to you.

IT was a wonderful day here to be outside. The hubby wanted to bike ride with me and due to how the day worked out we didn't get out until 5pm. I should have gone running but wasn't sure I had enough in the tank to do both.

For those of you who bike is that something that can be done daily? I went for half an hour and did around 6 miles. My heart was beating fast but I didn't I feel like I got the same kind of work out as when I run. To be honest it felt a little easy like I didn't really work out. So if anyone knows anything about biking and has some insights I would appreciate hearing them.

My son's friends were over and I almost put my running shorts on while they were here. If he is going to be disappointed in my behaviour he might as well be VERY disappointed. LOL!!!!

Today is the first the day I am putting my food on sparks. When I get a few days in I will make them public so people can take a look at them.

Hi Gang! Remember me?? lol!

Sorry I've been MIA. Life has been a little upside down lately...

Today I completed the Bluenose Marathon 10K. I walked most of it as I hadn't spent enough time training to run it. It felt really good though!
I did notice though how much harder is was because I've gained around 20 pounds since this time last year. Time to make a change!

I am registered to run my first 1/2 marathon on Sept 27th in Toronto, Canada. I'm really excited. I'll be running in support of Joints In Motion & the Arthritis Society. Training starts tomorrow.
I'm going to register for a 1/2 marathon clinic beginning in June as well. That should give me the extra push I will need.

This has been a rough week. We lost our precious Libby on Tuesday. She was 12 and was such a HUGE part of my life. When I started running, she started too. She was the best 4-legged furry personal trainer a girl could ask for! She will be greatly missed. Today was for her.

I hope you are all well. I will try to be more active around here. I could use the encouragement and accountability. emoticon

Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.

Hey All,

I hope all is well this weekend. I am hanging in there. I felt a little discouraged this morning. Just annoying negative thoughts but I am back to my more positive self. I will be going out to take on W4D1 on the track after my post here.

BlueDaisy - it is nice to have another newbie rookie runner around. I try to post to the C25K thread but I have not been consistent with it

Nera - hmmm... what can I say; "teenagers" keep a thick skin. I haven't been there yet; go back and take a look at your pass photos and remember his sweet little face he is still there; he is just trying to find his way during the uber selfish years
Oh yeah, padded bike shorts and a gel seat will take you far. Thick skin may also apply here or at least some Body Glide LOL

Beth - thanks for the link and congratulations on 17 years that is no small accomplishment in this day and age.

Ann/Bobby - LOL thanks for the funny story maybe we should call it "The Thong Tail" every pun intended

Trish - LOL I wasn't sure if the "hard head makes a soft behind" comment applied to you but at least it was good for a laugh! I go back and forth between is this too much or not enough. I have lost 29lbs as of today so I am sticking with the plan. I am going to increase my sleep (try) and definitely pay more attention to my calorie intake. When I was tracking consistently I was always falling below. I try my best to make sure I make good choices. I'm not trying to go backward or plateau.

Cassie - I wish you some much needed r/r at the end of your 12 day hump

Jules - I hope you enjoyed your CA getaway

To all those I have missed. I wish you every success this week!

Keep It Movin'

Tanya

Good morning everyone. Not surprised by the lack of tackers on the teenager. He knows he has pushed the limits because he has tried to be nice to me since the banquet. I like the hugs but I would prefer that he got his homework done when I asked. LOL!!!

Okay I think I will try using Sparks for my tracking. It is hard because when I first started I had my food on there and lots of time what I was eating was not on the list. I know the other day I tracked and I just put in my protein and found I only had 44 for protein. I will miss my paper journal because I am an old fashion gal and like to hold things in my hands. LOL!!! But I don't have time for both. My paper version may become more of a journal for thoughts on this whole journer. I have a couple of entries like that in there anyway.

I should run today but yesterday I put some major crappy fuel in the tank and not sure if I could make it. Maybe I will try riding my bike since it is fixed now.

Thanks for all of the support guys it means a lot. Now I have to get going because soon I will have 6 more teenagers in my basement playing games and I have not a morsel of food in the house. LOL!!!

Trish---how nice of the kids.....what a nice things they did for you...
That bruise sounds painful....does it hurt??
Where in CA are you??
30 min of stretching a day...now that's dedication...we could all probably learn from that...

Cassie----when do things calm down for you?

Nera----I would love to take your son.....send him over...but no rtns ok??
I am forgetting the other posts guys.....

Nera...you may want to start tracking with SP..its a pain at first to get the foods you eat in, and the recipes..but the payoff is huge...

Have a great day!!!

Hey everyone!!

Today my kidlets let me sleep in...wow, I can't even believe that I got up when my body said that it couldn't handle staying in bed. What a huge treat!! When I was ready to get up, I had both kidlets cuddling with me in bed. Joshy made hot chocolate for Missy and him, and coffee for me, then it was the fruit salad for breaky. What a fantastic start to the long weekend.

Bobby, I hope you are ready for me because I now have a nasty bruise just below my "sit bone"...AKA, the insertion point of the hammy...guess the tear was pretty significant:( Oh yeah, and I remembered the dress code...LOL:) Hahahaha, on the Anne yelling, you pulled a TRISH????? ARe you insane???? Do you remember how long I have been side-lined for??? OK, nuff said, glad it felt great for you (I woulda done the same thing). LOVE the thong-man tag...careful, it may stick (and sometimes it does - hate to be caught pulling it out though...LOL).

Beth...LOL, yeah, a little stretching nudge thrown in for good measure. It is a great idea though. I talked to one of my clients about stretching - he is a personal trainer, and he told me that he stretches a minimum of 30 minutes per day (sometimes it is yoga moves, but always it works the flexibility). Nice that you had a great dinner, enjoy the popcorn tonight:)

Lynne, enjoy the new shoes:) I ALWAYS have good runs after I get new equipment. Heck, I am famous for HUGE shoe break-in runs.

Cass, stay strong my friend...you are over half way to the end of this set.

Nera, has your hubby tried accupuncture yet? My dude has done crazy stuff for my friends with the whole hubby (or wife) snoring...maybe an option to think about. I would love to have a look at your nutrition journal...I have a feeling that your nutritional mix isn't exactly right. If you want me to, you can e-mail me your info, or track on Spark, and I will check it out. Remember, as an athlete, you need carbs to fuel you (make sure they are good carbs), and proteins to repair the muscles to make them stronger. Let me know if I can help you in any way. DH needs a kick in the pants...he obviously doesn't understand the whole process - it is as much mental as it is physical. Hmmm, slightly used teenager...um, sorry girl, mine are still 5 years out, so I am going to have to say no to that.

Anne, I love the bobby thong story, how funny it must have been for your friend!! Glad you got your Garmin...AKA, the Garmin Monster...LOL:) Nice with the LSD, sounds like you are almost ready to kick the pace up another 10 to 15 seconds per mile - start with a shorter distance to get used to the new pace, and give it a try on your next long run. Holy girl, 190 is HUGELY high. What do your docs say about it? As long as it is safe, I say take the extra cals...LOL:)

Mary Anne, you are like the Angel on my shoulder...I'm just wondering who the devil is???? Does anyone know? Enjoy your run tomorrow:)

Mike, great job impacting the kids, and their families:) I can't wait to see what you do next...I'm so thankful you are on this team:)

Anyhow, I have to fly, I actually thought about doing a long run tomorrow after reading this thread...then thought again about how GREAT it will feel to be starting training for Vic, and decided I would just do ST. Check it out, I can learn after being bonked on the head (or hammy) more than 1,000 times...LOL:)

Hugs,
Trish

I don't track my food with sparks I use a journal for that. But maybe for a little while I should use sparks to make sure I am getting what I need.

coops - happy 17th and may the popcorn be plentiful tonight. btw the nick name better not stick.

mike- great job today and nice blog.

maryann- anne and i lost 145 lbs between us by cycling calories two days toward the low range but never under 1200 then a day at the high range, keep your body guessing. then if you burn 300 calories on your run add back in 150 additional calories for the day(50% of what you burn). use the spark for a month like anne said and you will drop weight. you have to eat to loose weight, pay close attention to your protein intake.

nera - read above and i totally agree with what coops says. i see you do not have your food and exercise log posted on your spark page, you may want to track in spark and make it public, someone may take a look at it and be able to help you

lynn- congrats on the 30 straight minutes. the new shoes may not make you faster but they will be more comfortable, enjoy. i would love to have new ones every month they always feel so good new.

trish- i am waiting for you at the NM for some hammy work and please don't dress appropriate(LOL) yes we can do a double hammy this weekend.

jules- wash board abs burried under dirty laundry - love it and man do i have a lot of dirty laundry. have a great weekend at the beach

we did our runs today, i was going to quit at 6-7 but felt good so i went 8 and anne yelled at me saying i was like trish or gigi (too much too soon) since i have not run more than 5.5 since starting back. once i hit the 7 mark i was not stopping because i never did 8 before, i quit at 7.75 in december, so i had to do it finished 8.17 mile and felt like i could have gone 12. 11 min mile pace but mile 6 to 7 ran 8:42 just to get the legs moving and see how much was left in them. probably felt good because i am on steroids to clear up poison ivy, maybe i need them all the time.

Maryanne---check out the calc I posted...since I have been doing that I am losing or maintaining again...not going up and then down...

Anne---just this week, I am paying attention to my HR and what my runs are to be...easy run I stay in Z1...no matter how slow...I am sure you know this and I am just figuring it out...train with diff speeds, not the same all the time...I used to always try to beat last run and I think I was getting discouraged...

Great job to you and Bobby on your running today..I hope Bobby did some good stretching...

Mike---saw your blog--GREAT DAY!!!!

We had a nice dinner and cocktails...popcorn later...we both are working again tomorrow...I was to run today, very windy..will do my 7 after work tomorrow...

Hi all! Did our 8 mile LSD today. I avg.around 11:15-11:20. It's so hard to stay that pace but worth it in the end of the run! Knowing that I could have gone further makes me realize I am o.k. at that pace. Bobby stayed with me almost the whole way. Took off at mile 6 and ran faster-such a nice guy! Although he shouldn't have ran 8 miles-he hasn't gone more than 5. Hopefully he doesn't injure himself. (I don't think he can stand it if I run further than him!) My one issue is heart rate. I don't have a normal one with my illness. A lot of times before I even start running I am at 100. My highest always seems to be aroun 190-195 and I have been avg. 174. I feel fine-wasn't even breathing hard except for hills. With my tachycardia issues it's so hard to judge my hr. I do burn more calories tho!
Mary Anne-vary those calories. One high day-up at the top of your range (check with the nutrition page I don't think you are close) or even higher then a couple of days at middle range then maybe one low. Then back up to high. If you vary I'm sure you will lose. Don't worry about gaining. I too weighed 200 lbs. And only a year and a half ago. You won't gain it back-especially all at once. Do the varying for a month and see what happens. If you are burning calories (and I know you are) you need to add about 50% of them back into you calories for the day. You won't gain. It keeps your body fueled and keeps away the fatigue. With our health issues we have to be extra careful in fueling our body. If I don't eat enough my symptoms hit me like a freight train. You take care of yourself and EAT!
Beth-Happy 17th anniversary!!!! Hope you have a great night! Popcorn perhaps???
Mike-glad your race was awesome. Going to check out your blog when I am done posting.
It didn't rain here until AFTER our muggy, hot run. Jeez! It was hot! Now it's cold. Go figure!
See ya, Anne

Trish: Loved your thong story. Never know what the day will bring eh? Glad to hear you are listening to your body. I'm like that movie Ground Hog Day repeating myself. LET YOURSELF HEAL. Glad you resisted the urge after the work frustration.

Lynne: Enjoy breaking in those new shoes.

Nera: Sorry to hear your son was such a jerk. It is nice when they finally grow up enough to not be like that. It will come. I always told my kids that it is in the mom job description. I have to embarass them at least once a week.
On the weight loss issue, I know it is disappointing, but it is only 1 pound and I wonder could you be having the same prob I might be having? Not enough calories?

Coops: Congrats on the anniversary. 17 years. Did you do anything special?

Anne: Bob in a thong. Had to be a memorable moment for that chiropractor. Have to admit I've never used the sparks nutrition thing. I think I might check it out. But when I write down what I'm eating it usually falls in the 1200-1400 calorie range. And I can't lose pounds. I know part of it is this adrenal gland issue, but I'm thinking of trying to up it a bit. Kind of scary for me though since I was 200lbs 5 years ago and don't want a repeat.

I did go for a run through the garage sales. Makes for a crazy run since I'm constantly stopping, but it is fun and a much better way than in a car. Only bought one pair of pants that I will have to go back to pick up, but it was fun.

Tomorrow is the Celebration Run for Girls on the Run.
It is always fun to see what the girls have accomplished.

Morning folks! It's Saturday morning after a long busy week-Yahoo! Bobby and I are thinking of doing our long run together today. Not sure how that will go. I like to go as soon as my breakfast settles and he waits until later in the day. Plus he is a lot faster than me. My new Garmin arrived yesterday. I was so busy I didn't even get to open the box yet. Can't wait but for now want to sit here with my coffee for just a little longer.
Trish-ha, ha, ha on the thong story! A little story I have. I was shopping with a group of girlfriends and bought some new undies (thongs) and they bought a larger pair for me to give Bob as a gag gift. Now mind you, one of these friends was our chiropractor...so needless to say guess what Bobby wore the next time he went to have his back worked on????? I thought she was going to die from laughter when she went to work on him! We still talk about that one every time we hang out!
Nera-hang in there. I remember times when my boys said something that hurt. They don't know they do it. But on the bright side-they are my best friends now! As Cassie said it does get better.
Mike-please let us know how that run/race went! Can't wait to hear.
Lynne-new shoes, Woohoo! I love new running shoes! Good luck with your run!
Beth-hope you got that computer problem worked out. How is the pacing going. I keep saying that I am going to get a running routine worked out instead of just running the same old stuff...I am trying...but it's just so crazy here!
I am going to go get something accomplished before Bear starts being a crazy puppy. He is just laying at my feet chewing a bone like a normal dog....scary!!! Everyone have a wonderful Saturday! Anne

Good morning. I hope all the racers do well today. Enjoy the experience.

I am pretty much the same. Can't sleep because of the hubby's snoring but he gets upset if I move to the couch.

I weighed in and I am up a pound I could have done with out that today. I am not losing inches because my clothes are fitting the same. I am pretty much in the same spot I was two months ago. I am a complete stop in the weight loss department.

It is sunny but windy here. I plan to spend the day going to garage sales. The boy is going with scouts to an amusement park. Not sure what the hubby is doing. He wasn't very supportive last night when I told him I was upset. Plus he has D&D tonight with his friends.

Lynne - have a fun time in the new shoes! I hope you fly like the wind.

Nera - been there! Finally on his 18th b'day, I got to be in the same picture, so it does get better. But I know it hurts at the time. Hope you slept it off.

Trish - glad you got some work done anyway, even with the thong. LOL, but I'm sure they've seen that before!

Gotta run - leaving right away for work. Day 6 of 12

Hey guys,

Good luck racers....MIKE, I can't wait to hear how the Scouts do (or more importantly, their parents...LOL).

Today was a tough day at work...found out another file that ought to have been completed by that lovely x-employee was not - see Trish mopping up the pieces again. Funny thing, for whatever reason, I jammed my thumb - went to see Kelsey (Wes is away) to work on it, and she decided that she would work on my left hammy as well. Um, I generally make sure I am wearing appropriate undergarments when I know I am seeing one of my team...but today I didn't, so got to blush through 15 minutes of hammy work (thongs work so well under jeans though)...LOL!! Sorry guys, just one of those things.

Beth, I am listening (or at least trying to...LOL). TRUST me, I wanted to run today after the stress that was this afternoon:) I think the site was having a few problems today - some of my friends were unable to work things out today as well. Hey Beth, if you end up having issues with muscles, you may want to think about running really easy for about 5 minutes, then gently stretching for another 3-5 (especially hammy, quad, hip flexor, and calf) - then you can go to town. Rule of thumb, never stretch cold (thus the easy 3-5).

Lynne, GREAT JOB!!! I am so impressed - aren't trails wonderful? Enjoy your weekend.

Nera, hahaha, love that your hubby went for the free stuff!! Mine doesn't look either...thinks we have money to burn (perhaps I should show him our bank book!! I am so sorry about your night, it is tough when our kidlets don't consider how what they say will impact us. I'm sure if he wasn't with his friends, his response would be different...doesn't make it easier right now though...HUGE hugs my friend.

P, glad your ab class rocked!! I'll try to not crack a joke tomorrow ok?

Jules, great job on the push ups!! Sounds like the ones I do with the TRX - suspended, you can also add a pike to them to make it more interesting. Enjoy your weekend, you deserve to chill out and have some fun:)

Mary Anne, I will totally listen to my bod, and you are right, Tara and Mike have seen the "light" so to speak...they love the new lifestyle, and appear to want to share that love with others - a GREAT thing. Thanks for the info on the book, I am going to head over to the website to check it out after I post here. I agree with everyone else...starvation mode will take place if you don't eat enough. Did you watch the biggest loser episode when Jill talked to Tara about why she wasn't losing weight? She told her that she wasn't eating enough to fuel the exercise she was making her body do. If you put your body into survival mode, it will store all food to use for later because it doesn't know when its next real meal is.

Anne, don't forget to stretch after each workout - even if it is hiking. Trust me, you don't want your hammy's going sideways. I count my warm-up and cool-down in my miles, although I am pretty weak with the cool-down part (mostly I walk after I get to the end and stretch). I am with you on the sleep in, kidlets have no soccer, swimming, or gymnastics this weekend - love the long weekend thing.

Anyhow, I have to head to bed!!

Hugs,
Trish

Well I am a bit disappointed. We went to our son's theatre banquet and I was told on the way home that he was disappointed in my behaviour. Seems I committed a major faux paux but going over to the table he was at(he didn't sit with us)and try to get a picture next to him. We spent $16 a piece(money we really can't afford) to go to this thing and eat various forms of bad chicken. All so I could see his one minute of glory when he accepted his letter. I don't think I can talk about this anymore. I am off to bed.

Hi all! On the not eating enough calories. It's true! When you eat too little your body does believe it's starving and holds onto the fat just as Penny and Beth say. When I was trying to lose if I followed the SP nutrition guide and stayed at the bottom continuously I stopped losing. When I varied I immediately dropped the weight. I have also been told if you eat too few calories and your body hangs onto the weight if you fall off the diet wagon and eat badly you have a tendency to gain even more back. So basically, eat varying calories and don't stay at the bottom of your range. Your body gets to used to it and stops losing. Also vary your food, don't eat the same thing every day (this from the girl who eats a peanut butter bagel for lunch every day-love my natural pb!).
Long work day for Bob and I. Had a break in the afternoon and took the pups for a hike. Then off to work again. Home now and ready for the crash. I am supposed to do a LSD tomorrow. My hammy's are bothering me-don't know why-they never bother me. I wonder if it's all the hiking with the dogs? We really don't do too much climbing, just trails. I never really count those into my fitness miles. Also, do you guys count your warm up and cool down miles? I usually wu and cd about a half mile or so and I haven't been counting them in with my total miles ran. Bob says I should. What do you guys do? Everyone have a wonderful evening. Can't wait to sleep in tomorrow!

Here are some reasons I found on the 'puter....

Cutting calories too much can send your body into starvation mode which makes weight loss more of a challenge
Eating too little can cause other health problems, including reduced immune system functioning, fatigue and inactivity, and even eating disorders
Your metabolism won’t go back to normal as soon as you diet to give up the calorie restriction diet
