I have done tons of research. The pain clinic are also very open for using natural medicine, herbs and other alternatives, so I'll be open to all alternatives. We'll try the IV Lidocaine first next month, then we'll see how that goes.

BLEBJO, sorry about your pain. Could you find some alternative help by researching on the computer? Or asking EJ? Just a thought.

It seems that the injections didn't make a difference after the numbing agent was gone and the soreness after the needle-poking had gone away. It was worth a try though. I'm now wrapped up in a good and warm sweater, and will be using my heat packs often until my next appointment.

Thank you for all the responses.

I'm not doing so badly tonight. Of course the spots where I got the injections are hurting, but that is no wonder. Trigger points are sensitive spots.

My mood is good, and I've gotten some reading done, and talked to friends through the 'net. Going to read more this weekend, and will probably spend more time in bed tomorrow than I did today.

I must say, this team is very good. We can understand what others are going through here, and that is a very good thing.

I am so sorry you have to go through this. I think you have the right idea though, rest this weekend and be gentle with yourself. I hope you enjoy your book and I hope it helps to transport your mind somewhere far away from your pain.

Heard that expression before?

I went to the pain clinic yesterday. This was my first appointment. The doctor pushed all the trigger points on my body, asked several questions, went through the form I'd filled out beforehand, and concluded with this: I have unspecified rheumatism/fibromyalgia. This is on top of the CFS/ME, not instead of it.

To make a long story short, I got several injections in the trigger points on the top of my neck and shoulders on both sides. The numbing agent had worn off mostly by this morning. I was warned that it'd feel worse today, and it sure does. We'll have to wait a day or two and see if it's made a difference.

Next time I go to the pain clinic, I'm getting a pain med through IV. I hope that I won't react too strongly to the adrenaline. We'll have to wait and see about that too.

Going to read on in a book I'm reading now. Relaxing this weekend and taking things slow.
