Wow Like many in this forum, I was an avid lover of Dandy and video games. Time passed and I never stopped doing it and now my main improvement is esportbetweb.com/skrill/ . I believe that eSports is the future for all crazy night players. Play is not bad if it also brings you money

Oh man, where to begin... My husband and I are both nerds (or geeks, if you prefer that term), so this is going to be a long list. XD

Joint
- Anime, Star Trek, Star Wars, Twin Peaks, Westworld, watching B-movies (think Birdemic), collecting weird stuff we find at secondhand stores, collecting vintage video game stuff, and finally, computers (DH is an IT professional and I'm into programming and 3D modeling, but we both build our own rigs and such).

Now, as for just me, I don't really know if it's considered nerdy so much as it is "smart" (that's the way former schoolmates used to describe it if they didn't just straight up call me a nerd), but I really love studying/learning languages. Since my obsession began over 10 years ago I've studied French, Welsh, German, Norwegian, Russian, Japanese and Korean, and I'm currently learning standard Mandarin Chinese. I prefer Eastern Asian languages over European because they're extremely challenging, but Welsh has been my overall favorite to learn.

Edited to Add: I also play D&D and a few other tabletops as well as sew, read (a lot) and practice music.

I studied ancient history and Latin back in high school! It's been far too long for me to be able to discuss it now, but I remember really enjoying it!

We have a pretty nerdy household. LOL. There are lots of obscure movie or video game quotes thrown around, but Mass Effect and Futurama seem to have a quote that can fit any situation. We are all book lovers. We are all students (two grad students and two in primary school), so there is a lot of talk about our classes and what we are currently studying. My husband and son are history nuts, so there is usually one long winded Greek rant daily.

Wow... most of what I do is nerdy, hobby wise and work wise!

I'm a singer/actress/writer/composer/arranger in one life.

And a budding math teacher in another.

I play all kinds of music, write, read a Lot, watch the occasional nerdy tv show or movie....

Pretty much the least nerdy thing I do is run, but I geek out about that too.

I LOVE the wonder woman outfit. You are very talented with a crochet hook! Be sure to post pictures of Yoda or Leia or whatever you end up making!

Today is another chance to get it right!

I'm trying to piece together crochet patterns to make this for my niece so she can wear it to comic con next week. If not...she'll just have to rely on the Yoda and Princess Leia hates I made her when she was born. LOL

I suppose she learned her lesson... and in later years, when we got in to Diablo 2 a lot, we'd play over battlenet. She'd then hunt down Player Killers who stated they would play friendly yet then go and attack party members. She'd make low level LOOKING characters, but build them up with special items, and then lure those PK's into playing with her, where she killed them.

Haha! Like a little Boondock Saint...

One of my friends created a half-orc named Krell Kenderbane who specifically targeted the kenders — annoying little thieves like your sister's gnome. Stealing from party members is pretty much never cool.

Uncool!!!

My sister, when she was young and first allowed to start gaming with the older group, was playing a gnomish thief. And what'd she do? She "practiced" her pick-pocket skills on team members. But she didn't tell us, and she didn't return things she was successful at getting. Since my dad was the DM, he said we had to let her keep playing (he did try to tell her she couldn't do this, but he also is a big fan of letting the world remain open so people can have the freedom to do what they want), we ended up tying her up and dragging her around like a prisoner. Her character became "Gnome on a Rope"

It's funny now, but man were we mad at the time!!

That drives me crazy!!! That is a problem I run into a lot also. The character who always wants to steal from EVERYONE and it creates all of these terrible situations and you never really get any where. The other problem we have is an unmarried girl in a group with an unmarried GM-guy. He lets her do ANYTHING she wants and get away without a problem. She is meta-gaming and I have to bite my tongue to be nice sometimes!

Today is another chance to get it right!

When in doubt, go workout.

Aww, that's too bad. PVP?! No thanks, that wouldn't be my style either. Yeah, I played witha group for a long time that didn't fight each other, but they didn't really help each other, either. We'd get new people in, and no one wanted to take the time to kind of show them the ropes or help them along; and it was "I want to search this or do that - I don't care what the team is doing or wants" That was frustrating.

Ah bummer!! We are state side! We live in Colorado with a move to Wyoming in the near future. It's tough to find decent people to play. I know everyone has their own style, but for some reason we always get people who want to play PVP and that's just not for us.

If anyone is ever up for a D&D campaign over roll20 (it's free), let me know. My husband has been looking to run a campaign for awhile now. We would need at least three players though. I am one so we would need two more. No pressure! If you're interested let me know!

Fun! I haven't played Magic in ages!!

RIPRISE: the downside to ARGs is that if you miss their start, it can be really difficult to catch up and figure out what the heck is going on. But unfiction.com is where I find "trailheads" of starting games (when I allow myself to go looking... which isn't all that often)

I am with KASHII, I love that cross stitch!! You will have to post pictures of your redecorated place. I would love to see the unique style!

I have never tried ARG but like you KASHII, I am always trying out things other people say are addicting. Sometimes it's great getting lost in something!

There are moments when I just cannot decide which game to play, I will play something silly like Nancy Drew to pass the time until I can decide.

omg! I love that Groot cross stitch!! (And am curious about this "Eclectic Gypsy Vintage" look)

And loving to learn what everyone does and obsesses over!

Alice in Wonderland - any and all versions? I played the part of the Caterpillar when I was in 5th grade, with our touring community theater, and adored the Disney movie when I was a kid :)

Another geeky hobby that I try avoid most time because I will disappear from all responsibilities if I get hooked: ARGs!! Anyone else gotten into Alternate Reality Gaming?

My nerdy hobbies list could go on and on. My absolute 2 favorite Geeky things are Alice in Wonderland and Wonder Woman. Other than that, I love all things Marvel, Walking Dead and all zombie and supernatural things, Game of Thrones. I'm also crafty and knit, do embroidery (all things nerdy and geeky though), paint, and photography. I'm also into some vintage stuff. I'm recently single, and I am redecorating my place in what I have dubbed "Eclectic Gypsy Vintage" style.

Oh my goodness I am a lover of almost all the things listed here.... superhero movies and now TV shows.... Arrow and The Flash are my current favourites. I also LOVE the walking dead and game of thrones with a passion and I'm a lover of ANYTHING handmade. I just love to be creative. I can knit, sew, make rugs, crochet - the lot! I am more into crochet than anything else at the moment though. I've made a few blankets and currently I'm making an infinity scarf.I think I'm going to fit in very well here! emoticon

Love it! I used to cross stitch while I'd binge watch Gilmore Girls. :) So great that you guys also do that, and quilting and crocheting. Homemade things are amazing! Have dabbled with making my own deodorant (worked, but left chalky white streaks - no good) and homemade "toothpowder" instead of tooth paste (love it) Something nice about making your own things :)

Firefly was amazing - never watched Sliders. HUGE fan of Big Bang Theory, and Sherlock.

Guilty Pleasure: Teen Wolf (so silly, I know!)

"Face Off" did look impressive! I may have to check that out. As for Anime, I tried a few episodes of Gantz, watched a season or two of Clannad; a few Full Metal Panic and Full Metal Alchemists. Probably my favorite has been Death Note, so far - I recently got the live action movie but haven't watched it yet.

SWTOR has some fun things but I find having to upgrade your gear constantly really hard. I'm not a real good fighter in any game but love the crafting in EQ2. I've been playing with some of the same people for almost 8 years now. We have a mumble server that crosses games. Some play SWTOR, some Landmark, or EQ2 and I believe we even have some playing Star Trek and Rift. But we can talk to each other no matter what game we are playing.

Homemade stuff is the best I agree.

I am addicted to the Game of Thrones book series and TV series. I love the emotions that come with reading what happens next! I do enjoy cross stitching but have so many projects at once that it gets crazy when trying to finish one! I also like to marathon watch old sci-fi series (because I am a major nerd) like Buffy, Firefly, X-files and Sliders (pretty cheesy series but I like it!) I am also really digging episodes of "Face-Off" on the syfy channel. I don't normally like reality TV but the designs they create are amazing! I enjoy anime but am not what anyone would call a savant. What animes are you trying out KASHII? I have a small list of the ones that I enjoy and am always open to try out new series. I mix all of this stuff in with gaming and manage to keep myself busy!

CALAMITIE-My husband really enjoys SWTOR and I have been thinking of trying it out. My internet is ridiculously slow so the download time is BRUTAL. Do you think it's worth the wait? I love that you quilt and crochet and would not say it's old lady stuff at all. My entire extended family on both sides is a bunch of crafty ladies and I LOVE homemade things!

Today is another chance to get it right!

When in doubt, go workout.

Besides burying my head in things like Farmville, Everquest 2 and SWTOR I am learning how to quilt and I love to crochet. That's just old lady stuff but I fit that category.

I got all excited to see the newest Star Wars teaser trailer - I haven't seen the original three movies in aaaages, but I LOVE most things by JJ Abrams, and of course seeing Harrison Ford reprising his role is super exciting!

What other things do you love outside of gaming? I'm a huge fan of most Superhero movies (even though I think there are often plot holes and silly lines written in - but that's what makes HISHE a fantastic youtube channel!) and I love The Walking Dead (may not be totally geeky, but, hey, throwing it out there.) Never got too much in to Anime, but my hubby likes a lot of that, so thought I should give it another try. Also been binge watching Fringe lately.

Currently reading Cryptonomicon, though I don't understand much of the math in it. "An Abundance of Katherines" was an adorable teen geek book that I recommend for lighthearted reading :)
