I would have to say that unless you are ordering a ton of dice, you'll lose horribly on s&h. But you can get dice from Amazon, Crystal, and Think Geek as well as many others. Usually gaming groups always have a few of us dice hoarders that will gladly let you borrow what you need, but if you really want your own set now or in the future, what you need to find is a Comic Book Store, a store that sells Magic The Gathering Cards, or any sort of board game or hobby shops… I'm 100% sure there is at least one store near by that will have what you need, though you might be stuck with what they have and it is usually behind the counter so ask. (Not the prettiest colors sometimes - LOL)

Usually you will find a stick of dice and that's all you need to get started, if you find a store with open bins then be sure to pick out: 1d20, 1d12, 2d10, 1d8,1d4, 4d6 - or in non crazy gamer speak that'd be one with 20 sides, 1 with 12 sides, 2 of the 10 siders, and on... you really only need 4 of the 6 sided ("normal" dice) if you are rolling up a character in D&D or similar gaming systems. Stick with all numbers, no symbols and you should be good to go! Happy gaming!

Edit: Sometimes you'll find a cube of dice, it won't have enough d6's but you'll be fine:

Not sure of the site itself, but will ask the BFF back in Indiana where she and her hubby got all their die. I know they bought most of the sets online--will try and do that today for you!

Hey howdy.

My GM in my D&D for dummies (i mean newbies) group told me to just go get some D&D dice. well, there're lots of different dice that seem to fit under the name of D&D when i look on e-bay and other things like that. Most have numbers and are the various shapes up to d-20 (bidding on some now). others look like they have symbols all over them and things like that.

Where would the best place be to get D&D dice at? also, the ones with symbols, are they for another game maybe or should i get those, too? would go to a game shop like he suggested, but none near where i am.
