I went back to using a 6" plate for dinner and it really does work. Your eyes see a full plate, not the size of the plate. I find if I eat more than that, I feel sick now.

Also when I am out and about, I take a different route when my head tells me to grab a latte and warmed up cheese croissant. Avoiding temptations!

I opt for a magazine with a health article instead of chocolate at the grocery store checkout if the mood hits. It doesn't anymore.

I have to admit that something I like is that when I hold my feet out, I can see the metatarsals really well. My feet weren't excessively puffy before, but it's happened only in the last year, so it's still novel.

Mine is not body-oriented. I've adopted a recommended habit of eating slowly for years but for some reason yesterday, I was an eating machine at lunch. I kept looking at the clock and being a little shocked how slowly the time was going. I finally just put down my plate and read a little on my laptop for awhile. Then I finished so that the meal took about 30 minutes.

Well, I've been paid - so I bravely went and picked up some new undies - a size smaller all round! Travelling home I wondered if I was deluding myself - would they be too small? No - they are just right! Gosh! I really have shrunk!

2 NSVís Iíve never seen on SP. 1) Better skin...skin tags and other growths are clearing up. 2) Toungue is healing. I blogged about this yesterday. My day6 on a reset. Tongues are indicators of health issues.

@Msjennifervt48 congrats on the tracking. Day 6 for me. It makes a huge difference in keeping you focused and aware of what you eat.

I am on a 5 day geen dot streak.

I also started wearing size 12 - since I started SparkPeople 560 days ago, I am down 2 sizes.
Took 4 pairs of pants and jeans out of storage and put the size 14's away.

Lucky to get those steps with Mom. Chair exercise sounds good. My foot is still healing; I might do a session today. I wish I sounded more committed but I know I'm not.

Had to delay lunch but stuck to my guidelines when I finally ate it. No compensating for the delay as if I needed more food.

Went for a Walk today with my Mom... Will have to check fit-bit to see how far it was, but it was a pretty nice one! At times we went slower- I think she needed small breaks at times- and I can't keep an even pace when I'm walking with her - I tried to keep going but slower even when she stopped. Today I will also do some Chair Yoga. Get my stretching in! When I don't do the Yoga/Stretch- I forget how much I love it-- and how good it feels- So I should probably try to do it daily! RIGHT?

My NSV today is while clipping coupons, I don't even feel like clipping the junk food, candy, or prepacked sodium loaded meals!

I used to clip junk food coupons and buy the food because it was on sale, but now I am different!

I almost never consider buying any of the packaged food available at the checkstand, where I routinely used to get a big chocolate bar or something. I feel neutral about them now.

I have a small victory...

I was at walmart shopping with my mom today. I was walking around the food part of the store with her. We went down the Chip and Snacks isle... I saw a few different types of chips/snacks that appealed to me- I ignored each bag without giving it much thought. Walked right up to a bag of Cheese Balls- and I almost reached out and grabbed the bag to plop it into the cart! Then I realized my "Commitment"- I said NO out loudly and quickly walked out of the isle.

I feel a bit hesitant and shy about sharing this - but I have recently had a couple of 'dates' with a new fella, and it feels really nice to know that my body is admired for it's slim, fitness.

This guy and I have almost identical, healthy BMI (he is around 150lbs and 6'1". I am 113lbs and 5'3") so there's a good chance we will support each other to maintain this.

Yesterday I sat having coffee and conversation with three friends. One friend had arrived with a big box of assorted biscuits (cookies), and a plate with biscuits was put on a side table right next to me. At one point I asked around "would anyone like a biscuit?" No-one did, so I said (jokingly) "I'll look after them!"

My victory was that those biscuits didn't bother me at all. In the past, I'd have had one of each kind, and been the person who had the last biscuit! In recent years I've been able to resist eating them, but had to move them away from me, and felt angry that they were even there! Yesterday, they seemed to have no power at all.........I don't know if this is a permanent change; I really hope so! It felt very good to feel detached from the biscuits!

This morning I went to the shop to buy an ice-cream - it's Sunday and it was on my plan. As I made my way to the check-out, I also picked up a single-size portion of carrot cake (in the kind of lunch-deals area) - it's a tiny piece of cake, but as I stood in the queue, I read that that tiny piece of cake had 268 kcals. And I went back and returned it to the shelf. It wasn't on my plan, and I didn't want to eat 268 kcals of sugar.

I'd picked it up thinking I could take it to work for my evening snack as I'm doing a sleep-in shift. But I'd already planned to take some homemade marzipan and almond sweets with me as a 'treat' today.

However, when I checked my cupboard, I noticed that a 'Lemon Drizzle Raw Bar' had got pushed to the back of the cupboard and I'd forgotten about it! This bar is just nuts, dates, coconut, lemon. I was overjoyed! THAT went in my 'supper box' to take to work and SO much better than the cake I nearly bought!

This one might sound a bit odd, but it was such a victory for me that I wanted to share it.

I had put 'Hula Hoops x 2' on my shopping list, as these potato-chip type treats were on my weekend menu. I will not buy a family-pack containing 6 bags - I can't trust myself with those! But the only single bags were 'grab bags' and contained 50g. I bought 2 bags.

When I got home, I opened both bags, and divided the contents into 3 x 30g (roughly). I will still eat 100g in all, but divided like that I will only eat 30g at a time. I had one with my lunch today. The other 2 are ear-marked for Saturday and Sunday meals.

This is the first time I've ever been able to do this. Previously I'd just have eaten a 50g bag - even though I know that is too much.

Congratulations, Oola.

Last night I sat eagerly waiting for a Sykpe call with my son, daughters in-law and little grandson. It didn't happen.

I had a coffee and ONE cinnamon raisin ball (100 kcals) from the baggie in the fridge. Then I did some knitting and yoga.

I think if I'd had chocolate or any other quickly-accessible carb I'd probably have eaten more, but I didn't! So, it was a win!

Left a cooking class yesterday at which it would have been very easy to eat so much that I felt bloated and logy later. Didn't! Even after a couple of cookies later. SO nice to know I can have a great eating experience out among others, eat enough to enjoy myself without "hovering" over my eating behavior, and feel light later.

reduced the amount to a small bowl and was just fine!

It has just occurred to me that I am now very comfortable wearing crossover ballet-style cardigans!

I've always liked this style but felt too thick-waisted to wear them. I now have three of them and wear them almost daily to work. I feel nice in them. I know I do not have a spare tyre to hide.

Wearing this shape-fitting style is a NSV for me.

Though I have delicious tasting chocolates very close by I consider the cost and avoid them altogether for myself if I have one then I want another!..... believe it or not I cut up a red bell pepper into strips and I love this crunchiness of those and so I've discovered a new healthy snack...... emoticon

I am also happy to report I am now able to get into some things in my closet I almost got rid of because they were too tight but now they fit....... and I always seem to gain weight before I actually begin to lose so the scales haven't budged....( I do quite a bit of strength training exercise and actually really increased my amount of exercise this last week)

Yay 2BDYNAMIC! That is great. I think other than ordering sashimi (no rice) we have been restaurant free for awhile.

I mentioned I have been staying away from restaurants ..... (nearly one month)....
Am now eating when hungry ..... and using food for fuel, nutrition, but not sport! ....
Being much more mindful of the quality of what I am eating and drinking. Lots of emoticon

This morning I tried on a little black dress I have been hanging on to because I liked it so much - and I could zip it up easily!

after that, I 'dared' to try on my 'slim skirt' and - YES! - I could get it on!

I didn't think I'd got that much smaller, but obviously I have! It's a great feeling!
