done and LOVE this stretch- it realigns my entire body and gives my arms a good workout at the same time. I can just feel the muscles in the back of my entire body releasing. Thanks for this one...

Funny, I just got done with my yoga routine and it had the pose in it! I love downward dog, it really does help with the hamstrings, as well as targeting your upper arm muscles.

I have tried many kind of cardio: running, walking, Zumba, Insanity, etc. Each one leaves me with tight hamstrings. Thank goodness for yoga and the downward dog. Start in push up position, then shift your hips up and back so that your body makes an upside down V. If you have trouble, slightly bend your knees, however, straight knees result in the best stretch. Hold for 20-30 seconds. Enjoy!
