I am new to the group and just reading up on the challenges. I have done this one without trying to far today. I had whole wheat toast this morning with my breakfast. No added sugar applesauce. Lunch was good too. I have been trying to replace all my white stuff with whole grain lately.

I drink my coffee black, so that's easy! I have really been loving dark rye bread lately. Halloween's a coming and my solution to that is to buy candy I don't like so I'm not tempted. My husband can eat the leftovers or I take it to the office (revenge).

So far so good. I've eat mostly whole grain and am planning to have cauliflower mash tonight with dinner instead of potatoes or pasta.

Now I just need to avoid the office candy dish...

So far not too bad. I had whole wheat waffles for breakfast with yogurt. There is sugar in the yogurt but not too bad.

I'm so up for this, however I did have my breakfast before this challenge was posted and did have white bread but apart from that its a no go area cutting down on bread in my diet is something I am trying to do anyway !

Ok, I am surely up for that for 24 hours, aren't I. Yes, I am. brown rice, I'm good there, no candy, (a hard one) whole wheat bread, that I mostly always do, I think that coffeemate is one of those white things, I should stay away from, sorry, I already had a cup this morning, but not more today. White flour and pasta, I wonder if that includes potatoes, oh well, I am out of white potatoes anyway, I can do this, and I will, I love these 24 hour challenges, anyone can make it 24 hours, if they want to. and I surely want to lose my paunch.

Happy Wednesday to you!

White Rice
White Flour in bread and pastries
Sweet breakfast cereals
Full sugar sodas and beverages
Tons of sugar in your coffee or tea
Candy
Salad dressings

What do all of these have in common? They are NOT what your body needs for energy or to get into slimmer jeans.

White flour and sugar may boost your body for a short while, but you will hit "the wall" far sooner than if you consume their healthy, whole wheat counter parts.

Your challenge today is to SAY NO TO THE WHITE STUFF. Really think about what you are consuming. Instead, try to:

*Eat whole wheat grains in your breads, cereals

*Eat brown rice or whole grain pasta

*Eat low sugar or light salad dressings and condiments - READ YOUR LABELS

*Have air popped popcorn for snack instead of chips, cookies, or crackers

*Eat beans or sweet potatoes for more vitamins and fiber

*Drink your coffee or tea with a sweetener substitute

*Limit your intake of sweets. READ YOUR LABELS. How many calories are in that candy bar? Do you REALLY need to be eating that? Is there a healthier alternative in the vending machine?
