I don't crave sweet - salt/savory is my personal nemisis. But...really dark chocolate (88% or more) makes me really happy :)

I always have sugarfree candy and gum in the house. If I want a lowfat, low sugar treat I get angel food cake and add fruit to it.

I like both salt and sugar. Salt in the form of pretzels (but I avoid them now because I have little self control). If I don't eat sweets at all, I don't crave them. Today, I am craving sweet, so I am contemplating making a smoothie with yogurt or tofu and fruit...

I always keep lots of fresh fruit, and nuts and dried fruit, although I know they are high in calories, I figure it is better than candy, If I still can't get rid of those sweet teeth, WHAT THE HECK, I just eat some candy, I try to limit it, and it is hard, that is my weakness, I love it.

Thank you, I love the idea of baking my own tortilla chips!! I, too, could be wooed by crunchy cardboard with salt on it. I am already looking forward to today's snack to try this out! :)
For my sweet craving, I like sixlet candy. They are candy coated carob. And you can find them in a small roll of eight little candies in Oct., and around Easter. One roll is perfect ... just don't be sitting next to the Bowl!

I am a chocolate addict! One day my granddaughter made me "Ants on a Log", a celery stick with peanut butter and a few chocolate chips. Sweet, crunchy, a little high on fat from the peanut butter. Now I make it any time I need a quick fix to help my cravings!

I have a major, major sweet tooth - I'd give up any other foods to be able to eat sweets again I go for either the 100 calorie packs of cookies or dark chocolate or a few M&M's (it is possible to eat just a few of them, instead of the whole pack, if I can do it anyone can). There is also a whole variety of reduced fat, low calorie ice cream bars that are simply delicious and really satisfy my sweet tooth. Oh - and also light Chocolate Soy milk - sweet and delicious.

I try to stick with one piece of dark chocolate or a few gummy bears if I'm craving sweets. I find that if I can make it through a day or two without chocolate, I stop craving it! Salty foods are a different story for me, though...

I found a great recipe for a healthy muffin recently! The pecan crumb topping makes it a nice sweet snack, and the wheat flour, minimal oil and ground flax seeds make it healthy! 163 calories, 4g protein, 25g carbs, 6g fat (1g saturated), 2g fiber

They're great for breakfast, too!

I usually stay away from "healthy" recipes for desserts, pastries, muffins, etc., because I tend to not like their taste. I've tried the recipes where you replace oil with applesauce and use bran flakes and things, and I didn't like them. This "healthy" recipe, though, is yummy! My husband thought they were a little bland, but my in-laws and friends loved them!

Be the change you want to see in the world.

I have a new favorite that my sister gave me and it feels like a Starbucks' treat! It is hot macha green tea (worth many times regular tea), with truvia sugar substitute, and warm sugar free almond milk. It has caffeine so need to have it early in the day. I may have one or two a week. Otherwise, regular green tea.

I crave "salty-sweet" so when the craving hits hard I fix a bowl with 1 Tbsp mixed nuts, 1 tsp choc chips and 3 dried apricots. Works for me. Gives me lots of texture and chewiness. I eat only 1 tidbit at a time.

i loooove salty.. especially when crunchy... potato chips, popcorn, cardboard w salt on it.... in the quick and easy cookbook by american heart association they list a recipe to cut 6 inch corn tortillas into 4 wedges and bake them for 10 minutes in 400 degrees. one tortilla has 1 gram of fat, so it's a healthier option. i like to experiment with different spices i can add to the homemade chip: salt (of course), chili powder, paprika, pepper.. it's fun and delicious!

When I crave sweets, I try to remember that the craving comes from sugar-fueled bacteria in my body who are crying out "FEED ME". Most of the time, I'll have a drink of water instead. When I do choose sweets, I try to choose a hard candy made with real sugar that I hold in my mouth so that it lasts a longer time.

Challenge 10/02/10: emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Happy Saturday to you!

Some people crave salty. Some people crave creamy. Most of us crave SWEET (me included).

What do you like to make/buy/have around the house when a sweet tooth hits?

Our challenge today is to either:

1) List lower calorie foods that satisfy your sweet tooth - feel free to include the manufacturer or your favorite items and serving size

2) List a recipe or URL for a recipe for making a healthy dessert

Get out your shopping list and recipe cards, Team. The holidays will be here soon. We can even cut calories on foods that are special treats.

Have a YUMMY & DELICIOUS Saturday!
