I vastly overestimated how many cardio minutes I could log, especially considering this was my first monthly goal, so I'm going to scale back a bit. Right now, I probably average only about 135 minutes of cardio a week, so I'll up that to 200, or 800 for the month.

Last month my strength training goal was only once a week, but I failed to make that. Pure laziness on my part. So, I'll set the same goal this month.

I'm still getting in the groove of this since I just started Sparking on September 8 but I'm going to make a goal of at least 30 minutes of some kind of cardio every day and some kind of strength 3 days a week... I'm going to hope that I end up with a lot more.

I did a lot of extra walking in the last few months, but I want to do more dance. 90 minutes dance a week, and some walking and strength training twice a week.

I was sick a lot last month and only did 972 minutes and Im sure my target was a lot higher!

But September is almost behind us and I pledge 1500 minutes for next month!

I wasn't a part of this team for all of September but I did manage 1,000 fitness minutes for the month. My goal for October is pretty much the same since I'm just now getting backk into the swing of things.

My plan is cardio 7 days and ST 3 days.

I just joined this team on Monday the 27th, so I did not set a cardio goal, but I am aiming for 2000 a month, I usually do at least 60 minutes a day, treadmill, walking, I have a 10,000 step a day personal challenge, so, I really have to get that under my belt, because otherwise, I cant do it. I will track it with one of the available tools, (I love Sparks) I will also do more strength exercises, so I will try for 4 times a week and I will have to figure out what that would total.

I reached my September goal for cardio minutes (1000 minutes), but I don't think I quite reached my strength training goal. I'll work harder on that one!

My target for October is 1440 minutes cardio (that is 2 hours line dancing 3 X a week). That will be helped by the two day, dance all day, Line Dance Jamboree I am going to in October. emoticon

My strength training target is 360 minutes (that is 3 X a week at Curves Circuit training) which is both cardio and strength. I will get additional strength training from the one month boot camp I signed up to do. emoticon

That is a target of 1800 minutes for October! emoticon

Happy Thursday to you!

We are going to continuing with our new monthly goals for ALL exercise. It is time to make goals for CARDIO AND STRENGTH TRAINING!

FIRST: Determine how many cardio minutes you want to accomplish in October. Consider how many cardio minutes you achieve right now for a week. How much would that be in a month? Can you increase that by a bit for October?

SECOND: How many days of strength training are you doing right now? Can you increase that this next month?

THIRD: Once you have come up with your cardio minutes/strength training days target for October, MAKE A NOTE OF IT. Put that number on your calendar. Stick a Post-It note to your bathroom mirror. Put a note in your gym bag. POST IT HERE!

LAST: Were you with our team for the entire month of September? How did you do with cardio minutes? Did you get in your strength training? Did you exceed your target? Did you find it challenging to squeeze in exercise? Feel free to post how you did in September.

Remember to drink AT LEAST 8 glasses of water and take your multi-vitamin today.
