I missed this post yesterday -- but I ate Kashi cereal for breakfast. All kinds of whole grain!

And I've started eating quinoa in place of rice. It's a fun change.

I switched away from white bread and white rice a while back. Now I look for 100% whole wheat bread and eat brown rice. I find I feel MUCH better when I eat whole grains! My blood sugar tends to spike and crash with white starches, and it doesn't do that with whole grains.

This was pretty easy. I gave up white about 9 months ago. Feel so much better too. Except for a teaspoon of sugar in my coffee and the occasional potato (very occasional) that is about all the white I eat.

In the process of giving up all processed foods too!

No white - easy, peasy. We always look for the whole grains. So far I've had whole wheat tortillas and raisin bran. Dinner - have to plan that still - but no white, promise!

Great challenge! I like Brownberry's Double Fiber wheat bread. One slice is usually enough--it's so filling. I'm not quite ready to give up white rice completely, so I use half white and half brown.

I had an oatmeal cereal for breakfast. Whole grains are in the granola bar I had for a snack. And I'll be having brown rice with my supper tonight.

I might be having white bread at lunch though. I forgot to take a loaf of "my" (100% whole wheat) bread out of the freezer this morning.

Challenge 08/10/10: emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Happy Tuesday to you!

Are you eating enriched, white flour in your foods? If you are, STOP!!! Foods full of enriched, white flour are not as good for you as foods full of whole grains.

Your challenge today is to EAT WHOLE GRAINS & SKIP THE WHITE FLOUR. Try whole grains in:

*Your cereal
*Your bread, bagel, tortilla
*Your rice, pasta

Remember to READ LABELS! Look for a high fiber content in what you are eating. When I go shopping, I look for items that list whole grains AND have a higher fiber count.

What are YOU eating today that has whole grain? If you have a favorite recipe, product, or item that fits this category, please share it with the team.

Have a THROWING THE WHITE STUFF OUT Tuesday!
