Nancy it is that same way on ALL the teams. Certain times of the year we are busier than other times, and I think another problem is that when a person is no longer active on a team, and I'm talking about no input at all for maybe a year -- you'd think SparkPeople would delete them, but they do not. Probably the reason for this is that it would reduce their overall head count, and that would not look as impressive.

I'm not going to worry too much about it, I'm quite busy myself, and if they like some of the forums and not others that's OK. To each his own. As it was Spark People who actually appointed me as Leader it did not occur to me to go in and see if that box was checked. I just figured something had gotten screwed up and they didn't need me after all. They had asked me the later part of 2016 but I was having heart surgery, and told them "not at this time, but perhaps by the beginning of the year." And sure enough, the beginning of the year they sent me a Spark Message and I just assumed they had taken care of everything. Sorry!

It was nice of you to volunteer especially as a newcomer. I lived in Sedona myself for about 10 years, but a couple of years after my husband died in 2001 I sold my big top-of-the hill house and moved down to the Phoenix area.

Hugs, Eve

Eve - You are the one who chooses which teams show on your page. Go to the Start Page and up in the upper left, click on Account/Email Settings, then on Community, and then on Spark Teams.

Welcome aboard. It seems that many of the local teams are having fewer and fewer active members.

I was not an active Leader because when they notified me that I was now the leader around the beginning of the year, they failed to put the team on my List of Teams, so I just figured someone else had taken over. Sorry for the confusion.

APPARENTLY_HERE if you would like to be a co-leader with me, I'd love to have you. Just send me a SP message.

Hugs, Eve

I'm not sure what people would like to see posted on our team threads.

If you have any ideas, please let me know!

Happy 2017 to you! It will be a Wonderful New Year!

I posted a few new threads to get some good discussions going.

I understand the lack of time and having other commitments. What you do is really important and takes a special person. I haven't been especially good on my food plan and I look forward to talking to you more soon.

Thanks!

I will post some new threads soon. I work with special needs students in the public school system, so we have one more week of school before 2 weeks of vacation! Lots more time to Spark at the end of December ;)

I really like the exc idea. I am learning I do better when I have some accountability. I have started walking (some would say strolling) and I am going to begin moving faster with more intensity.
I like the personal goals idea as well.

I think committing to any form of exercise 4 days a week sounds good to me! Even 3, honestly!

I will probably start out with just walking, and then I'll add in strength training once I'm on track with consistently going for a walk.

We could also start a thread where we share our personal healthy living goals, and we could help each other stay motivated!

I know I need to exercise more and need some help or guidance in that area. Maybe we could have an exercise goal in Jan. Walking 4 times a week for a certain distance or amount of time for 30 days for non exercisers like me or a more difficult goal for those more advanced in fitness.

I need help and encouragement, too. Sometimes it's difficult to stay motivated.

I was thinking that we could develop a few challenges that would officially begin in January. We'll probably see a lot more active Arizona Sparkers around New Year's Day!

Until then, we could share ideas and think of some team challenges that might help!

Hello Everyone!

My name is Sonia, and I live in Flagstaff.

I joined SparkPeople 8 or 9 years ago, and I used to be a very active member. I have a new profile now, because I want to get back on track with healthy living.

Leading SparkTeams helped me lose 70 pounds between 2008 and 2011. Life helped me gain back 30 or 40 of the pounds I lost, but I know I can try again, and succeed again!

I will do my best to keep this team active! Please let me know if there's anything I can do to help you on your journey :)
