Only once a week.

My husband says I just need to put one foot in front of the other in order to reach my goals.

I weigh myself after my workouts usually everyday. However if I gain or lose I really do not put much stock into it because weight can flucuate daily. I record my weight on Fridays to see how I am doing from the previous week. I am more concerned with percentage of body fat and my measurements (which I also do on Fridays).

I was weighing in once a week but my instructor told me to not measure how much I lost by the scale because right now I am building strength in my muscles for the Spin class and the weight may stay the same but will show in inches.

Officially I weigh once a week, mostly on Sundays but will change the official day if my schedule demands as I am sort of ritualistic about my weigh-ins (having once weighed more than I do know). I call it the Sacred Ceremony of the Golden Scale of Dietary Justice and as with my whole journey in life and weight, I sometimes weave colorful tales about it as I am a storyteller and use parables for motivation lol.

My once a week weigh-in is usually just before brunch on Sunday, at the same time of day approximately.

But basically, once a week. I do unofficially hop on sometimes at other times to get an idea of where I'm at.

I rarely weigh myself. Instead, I use a tape measure to mark my progress. I tend to get obsessed about the numbers on the scale.

I weigh myself Fridays and Tuesdays- it keeps me honest during the meat of the work week and also throughout the weekend where my routine gets chaotic. I used to just log my Fridays, now I input every time.

I will be weighing in every Friday morning (although I am always tempted to weigh myself a couple times a week). I took my measurements for the first time yesterday and will add those in again in a month.

I weigh in every Friday. Friday is our pizza night, my one splurge that I refuse to give up. It is just a special time for DH and myself although I have cut down on the size of my portion! By weighing in on Fridays I know before I start whether I can have 2 slices or only 1!

Right now? Whenever I can get to a scale... I'm on vacation, so I don't have the access that I did when I'm at home. I did bring my measuring tape though (I'm gone for five weeks, staying at my mom's).

When I'm at home, I usually weigh every day. Sometimes more than once a day. I do realize that the scale goes up and down; I really only care about the trend. I get excited to see new lows, either with the weight or with the body fat measurement.

Once a week, Monday mornings. I tried daily weigh ins last year and it made me nuts. Sometimes I dabble with the idea of every 10 days, but a week so far is good enough for me.

I used to weigh in every day, which held me accountable, but then I started feeling defeated when I'd weigh in high or would sabotage when I weighed in low. Now I weigh in once a week. It's been much better for tracking my overall trend.

I weigh in once a week. The scale is not my friend right now. So it stays in its room somewhere far away. Although it did say I have lost .4lbs since last week I still don't like it. lol But I am feeling pretty good about the .4 lbs... I Just don't like getting discouraged by the scale. lol

I weigh every day, but just learned a new trick to deal with the frustration of those daily fluctuations - once a week I total up all that week's weights and average my weight for the week. I pay more attention to the average from week to week than the daily losses or gains - and the numbers are moving in the right direction!

My weigh-in days are Saturdays. This helps keep me going strong during the weekend...no cheating allowed. However, if I wake and feel like I've lost or gained, I get on that scale to see the results. Either way, loss or gain, it helps me to stay focused or review the prior day's choices.

I weigh in once a week on Friday. This way I can plan my weekend depending on my results. If I lost, I keep doing what I'm doing. If I stayed the same or gained, I know I need to work a bit harder. But the reason I like weighing in once a week is this way I feel like I'm progressing and it also gives me a chance to learn how to eat and exercise without becoming obsessed with each and every day.

My first month I was tracking every meal and my weight once a day but now I am feeling more confident in my portion sizes and consistent workouts. And by entering in my info at the end of the day, I've had an easier time grasping portion control without fixating on exact measurements.

Looks like everyone is doing great and keep it up!

I began 3 weeks ago, and am weighing in daily to track progress along with tracking meals, exercise, calories in/out. I'm going to a wedding in 4 weeks so I'd like to reach my first goal of 160, which is a 20 lb weight loss from my start weight. So far, so good!

I weigh in first thing every morning and track it on the calendar above my scale along with workouts and major events - this helps me make correlations about what I do and their effects. When I first gained all of my weight I had quit weighing myself completely. emoticon

I weigh on Friday mornings so that I'm motivated to keep my resolve over the weekend. If it is a happy number, I'm encouraged to continue. If it's the same, or higher (no!), then I'm detrmined not to make it go higher over the weekend.

Once a week at a weight loss support group.
I use to weigh myself, but became obsessive over the numbers.
Since I have a long way to go, I feel it's better to check the numbers once a week.

I weigh in once a week but I think weighing in everyday is a good practice. I have a wonderful scale that gives my weight, body fat and water so I am shooting for lower body fat!

I weigh myself every Monday morning. If I know I had a very bad day, I'll weigh myself every day after to ensure the number goes down.

I found I have to weigh myself the same, clothed or unclothed at the same time of the day...morning, night. etc. in order to get good results. Otherwise, the difference in weight varies so much it drives me crazy. Oh and only once a week.
That's just my way of doing it.

Well I'm kind of off to a bad start. I weighed myself at work and that's the weight I used to get started on this site. But my scale at home appears to be off by quite a bit.

Hi everyone this is my first posting. I just bought the spark book and started reading it. I weigh myself at least once or twice a day. I have kept my weight off for over a year doing this method. I would like to loose 3 more pounds. When I over eat on sweets or to much one day I try to get on track the next day or the day after. I Love your new book! Cindle

This is an interesting ? I started my journey on 1/1/10, which was a Fri., so that was my weigh in day. Then I joined a BL challenge that started on a Tues., so I was weighing in then also. On 2/1 I started TheSpark 28 Day Challenge and that was a Mon. So I was weighing in for each of these (3x's/wk). I discovered that was not working for me. Sometimes you can have a slight gain overnight & lose a couple lbs in a few days and then it is less a few days later. This was driving me insane, so now I am down to once a week and I feel much better and seem to have better results.

Just my two cents!

Have a Super weekend and enjoy your parties, but keep in mind the journey is still on! emoticon

One of the biggest problems with "diets" is the weighing in. Nothing stresses me out more. I haven't weighed since I was at the Dr's office in October. I think I have lost about 15 pounds since then but the only way to know is buy a scale and I just can't. It's going too good without one.

Officially I weigh in Monday mornings. BUT I work out with the Wii Fit and do a body test pretty much everytime to see what it says. I don't count this number though even though it is about 5 pounds less then my scale....I started with my scale so I figure switching mid way would kind of be cheating.

I think once a week is perfect, weighing in more can get you down sometimes, some days plateaus can be hit, water retained, etc. A whole week gives a better perspective. Although the bottom line as long as it is going down and you are happy with what you're doing, go for it as often as you want!

I guess as long as you weigh on the same scale - I had two for a while, and they differed by 4 pounds! SO always try to weigh on the same scale each week.

So I'm going to sound like the crazy one but I check my weight a couple times a DAY. Its good for me to know how much water/bloat weight increases during the day. However if the scale goes up I NEVER get down on myself, its just data for me.

Saturday morning is my official weigh-in. But I do hop on sometimes during the week. Today I weighed myself fully dressed in shoes - I was going to the doctor and wanted to see how close my scale was to his. They were almost exactly the same! So my WW scale is pretty accurate. Now if the numbers would just go down faster!

I used to weigh in every day, sometimes twice a day, but I would consider the official "weigh in" once a week. I know I'm on the scale too often so I'm trying to go a couple of days between stepping on the scale. Maybe I can wean to once a week. I think it would be a more positive experience that way.

Is that official or unofficial? Officially, I weigh in once a week at my WW meetings ... but I also hop on the scale several mornings a week.

I think that when I hit my goal weight, I'll be weighing daily, at least at first, to try to get a handle on things.

When I avoid the scale altogether, I feel like it gives me license to eat whatever I want. (I know, it doesn't make sense ... but that's the way I think.)

I'm taking it one choice at a time.

Hey... I didn't even think of the added benefit of not being taken by surprise by the scorpions! Bonus! I've never had to deal with as many scorpions as we have in my current house. Even with preventative measures we see 4-10 every week in the summer. It's AWFUL! But, I agree, it's a great place to live... so we work around eachother.

I love my glass scale...(got it at Costco), because a couple of times when I pulled my scale away from the wall to weigh myself I found scorpions hiding underneath it. Creepy!!! especially when you are in the buff and barefoot! Now, with the clear glass scale, no creepy crawly things will surprise me. I think must live in the scorpion capital of AZ. But I love it here.

I used to weigh in once a week. Then we had a garage sale. My partner sold my scale. It was in the bathroom, not in the garage sale. I'm just sayin'.

I do say this with a smile on my face - kind of. Maybe I'll get a new one, a nice fancy glass one for a holiday gift.

I know it is against current "guidelines" but I weigh every morning. My digital scale measures in tenths of pounds and even a one-two tenths loss is very motivating. If my weight suddenly pops up, I know it is probably water gain and I need to back off the salt and increase my water intake. I watch for "a new low" number and don't really count it until I've seen that number repeated for three days. I don't get depressed if I see fluctuations...they are part of being female. So...it works for me.

I weigh in every Sunday morning when I first wake up, after relieving myself. I also weigh naked. And then I take my measurements because in the past I've noticed the scale not necessarily changing, but the measurements go down.

When I was in law school and obsessive about everything, I would weigh myself everytime I stepped into the bathroom - its amazing how much my mood could change with just a simple trip to the bathroom! Once a week is much much safer for me.

Once a week. Most people's weight can fluctuate from day to day, even hour to hour, so it's a better gauge to limit to once a week, at about the same time.

In the past, I weighed in EVERY day and frustrated myself on the days the scale didn't move. I stopped trying to lose weight for about a year & re-gained every lb plus more. NOW: I'm back and losing weight and weighing-in only once a week. I have a body fat/water/weight scale & think the body fat is VERY important to see decrease! Cross my fingers that exercise & more veggies & smart nutrition will help weigh-in be a pleasure experience.
