Back & center for me too! I can see my instructor but don't want to see myself that close up in the mirror! LOL

Front and slightly right of the instructor...though our classes are usually small enough where there's only one staggered row across. But even if they were larger, I'd want to be up front...I'm short and like to be able to see the instructor as well as myself in the mirror.

"This is the beginning of a new day.
I have been given this day to use as I will.
I can waste it or I can use it for good.
What I do today is important because
I am exchanging a day of my life for it.
When tomorrow comes this day will be gone forever,
Leaving in its place something that I have traded for it.
I want it to be gain, not loss; good, not evil; success, not failure;
In order that I shall not regret the price that I paid for it."

Front and center. That way I can feed off the energy of my instructor if I'm not feeling particularly energetic that day. And since I've been attending for about a year and know the moves quite well I'm probably helping the newbies stuck in the back who can't see her.

I am so jealous of you guys with mirrors! My gym does Zumba in the large gym and there are no mirrors in there. I would love to be able to watch myself so I know if I'm doing it right or not. Once upon a not-so-distant past, I would have LOVED having no mirrors, as I used to hate watching myself exercise. But my, how times have changed! LOL

Facing the front, we have mirrors on the front and left walls. The sound system is in the middle of the front wall and the instructor stands to the right of that. I try to divide my time between the right front corner and the left front corner. So I can watch the instructor directly or in the mirrors.

I'm usually a "front row diva" although I prefer to be off to the right side. I sort of think of that as "my side" of the room! Plus, I've found that the floor is a little less slippery there - I have to be super careful in my dance shoes on the left side!

Although in some of the classes that are packed, I can be happy anywhere... I've figured out that I can have just as much fun as a "back row diva" and when you're LOUD back there, it usually helps the energy in the whole room.

I'll also usually hang out in the back if there are a lot of newbies in the back. It usually helps them if they can follow you.

Front! I've only been doing Zumba for a few weeks, but I am 5'1" so I like to see the instructor, plus I just like being in the front. I don't like to hide. LOL

I'm in the back until I pick up the routine, then I zumba my way to the middle. I don't like the front because it's so in your face and I am tall. so I am comfortable in the middle

Hey Tygerlily!!
Great question!! Hahahaha!! I never really thought about that, but you're right--most people have their prefered place in class!!
I WAS a back-row, hiding-in-the-corner girl for the first 6 mo to 1 year of Zumba!! I was SO self conscious, and didn't want to see myself or have others see me!! LOL!! As my confidence improved, I gradually moved to middle-of-the-class, and now I feel comfortable wherever there's an opening. I don't particularly like being in front because I want the newer people to be able to see the instructor, but if no one wants the front, I'll take it!!

Right smack in front, to the left. I'm short also, and hated being even a row or 2 back because I couldn't see that well.

OK, and I also HATED being behind people who consistently got the moves waaay wrong. It's fine if they're still burning calories, i get that. But I like to be able to do the actual moves my instructor is.

I am usually up front so I can see better. But we used to have our classes in the gym so there where many lines of 6-8 people going back. They just completed a new fitness room where our classes will be, so depending on how many people come, we will all be one big happy row

Up front, middle, right behind or slightly off to the right of the instructor. I have to see her feet! I was told by instructors that it's good to have me close by since I smile the whole class and am vocal (how can you not, seriously!!). They feed off the enthusiasm and love to see us enjoying ourselves. So if you feel like being vocal during class, please shout it out! Add a little of you to the moves. Spice it up and have fun, fun, fun!

I want to be up front where I can see all of the moves right away. I attend a class that rotates the lines after each song so that everyone has to experience it the whole way around. Believe it or not, nobody complains about it now that it's routine.

When I teach, I plan on doing that if I bring in more than 20 people in my class.

Check out my youtube channel...I have a lot of my favorite Zumba routines. Have fun! www.youtube.com/user/angiemoe7?featu

Those of you who take zumba classes, I'm curious where you like to 'be' in the class, where 'YOUR SPOT' is (I notice that our class regulars always seem to have 'their spots' lol)

I notice some seem to like the back, me - I prefer 1st row but off all the way to the right. I'm not vain or anything but I feel like I need to be able to glance at myself in the mirror to make sure I'm doing "okay" or something lol, somehow its motivating, and at 5'2", I feel I HAVE to be up front to be able to see what the instructor is doing!!!

Curious so hence this poll! --- Where is "YOUR SPOT"? any reason why you like it there??
