thanks. So I got about 1700 once I multiplies my BMR by 1.2. How to I account for exercise? This is great info since I have been very good about my diet and I have not seen any results. I exercise almost everyday for about an hour and it is usually very intense.

Thanks for the help.

BMR is your Basal Metabolic Rate which is how many calories your body would need to survive if you were to lie in the dark all day and not move. It's basically the rock bottom number of calories your body needs to survive.

Your body actually needs more calories than this number though since none of us lie in the dark not moving. Once you determine your BMR you should multiply that number by 1.2 to get the number of calories your body needs in order to provide fuel for you day to day activities like walking around, showering, doing laundry, sitting at a desk, etc.

The only way that your BMR can change is if your weight, height or age changes. BMR has nothing to do with the amount that you exercise so this would not have changed the number. Did you recently update your weight on the site? This would have affected the number.

hey all, Just a quick question....4 days ago I noticed the new reports and have been using the daily calorie differential to keep track of my deficits...however, 3 days ago until today it said my BMR was 1585 and today when i logged on it said 1855. Could this be because I worked out 4x...does it automatically adjust?? Not sure...Any advice would be great as I am now trying to log my daily calorie deficits to make sure I get to at least 3500 to lose a pound, I think this will work as i have been stuck at same weight for ever and work out 4-5 days per week and try to stick to outlined calories...Thanks
Jo
