YOU ARE RIGHT. YOU SHOULD NOT OVER INDULGE ON THE FOOD. THAT IS ALL OF OUR WEAKNESSES. STOP AND START OVER.IT IS THAT EASY. AND DON'T FEEL GUILTY CAUSE WE ALL DO IT. i BELIEVE THAT A PERSON MUST WORK THAT MUCH HARDER TO WORK OFF THE OVER INDULGEMENT THAT SAME DAY. IF YOU CAIN'T DO THAT, AT LEAST TRY. IT IS A STRAT TO GETTING BACK ON TRACK

I actually did really well over the holiday weekend. In the past I have gone overboard and know what you mean about the guilt setting in. I think I'm past that. As long as I don't make going overboard a habit it's okay to indulge every now and then. Just make sure you get back on track quickly.

Going overboard *once in a while* isn't going to kill any of us...it's the going overboard way too much that will! I tried to be careful, and even made an attempt to track, but I ate things that I wouldn't normally eat. But, as soon as the weekend was over, I was right back on track. Moderation is the key-if you eat too much one day, just get back on track the next. It'll all even out in the end.

My weekend was bad, but I'm back at it. Calories and exercising on track Mon, Tues. and now today! We don't have to let our errors of yesterday control our successes of today!

What a bad weekend! I feel like all I did was eat. I'm starting over again also...I guess I've got to start somewhere, but it is sure frustrating.

I had one celebration after another, no time to workout nor track food eaten, yikes.

I don't even know when and where to start....so I decided to start all over again today!

Good luck all,

My eating was totally out of control. I worked all day Fri. and snacked off and on the whole time, then went to a bbq. Sat. and Sun. I snacked the whole time I was at work. The only thing I had going for me is I get a lot of exercise at work.

This was definitely an eat, drink, and be merry holiday weekend. I kept my fitness level up, but I definitely ate and drink more than I normally do. In the future, I will be bringing a green vegetable to any cookout I attend. The multiple barbecues I attended this weekend.....they were mainly meat and desserts. The only vegetable served was corn on the cob. I find myself eating more of the other foods, when I don't have vegetables to help fill me up. Lesson learned! Now, I'm armed with the knowledge I need to make it through Labor Day barbecues. SMILE

I saw a pretty big jump in my calorie intake this weekend. Not to mention a pretty low level of activity. I seemed to inhale my mother-in-law's cookies. Having company in town has not helped anything! I'm so excited to be back on track I practically jumped up and down nonstop in aerobics today. I'm sure people were wondering.

I love homemade bread too much, but I can handle the calories, because the family enjoys it so much and I only make it 7-10 times a year. emoticon

I love homemade bread. Growing up my mom made homemade bread almost daily. I think I love the smell almost as much as the taste. I like it better in the winter I think because it makes me warm inside. Amazing how just mentioning a food can cause such a reaction.

My daughters, son-in-law, and grandson were here, and I made two kinds of cookies, homemade bread, pepperoni rolls, Cheese-garlic rolls, big breakfasts, and had a bar-be-que for the rest of the family. I had to sample everything. The good news is that they ate or took home everything but one roll and a few cookies. They loved the food, I enjoyed cooking for them, and now I am back on track. emoticon

I agree with Frannie. You have to allow yourself soemthing sometimes. However do not go major overboard.

Now compared to how I usually eat lately I did go a bit overboard myself by having 2 pieces of angelfood cake with hi calorie icing on it (probably- dont know for sure) and an extra hot dog with a bun when no one was looking. yeah Im a hider when I eat extra stuff and I had been so in control with that. I didnt control it.

I did weigh this morning and I still weighed 170 so aparently if I lost any last week it didnt matter I gained back to 170.

As for today I have done 6 miles which is 120 Minutes of work outs.

You have to give yourself permission to enjoy food, moderation is good. I still eat what I want to, I am just very careful about how much and how often! I definitely ate this weekend and today I am being very good!!!

I did a LOT of eating and drinking this weekend to.

I had a BBQ on Friday and Saturday (couldn't pass up the desert) and yesterday I ate good but had dinner at 8:30pm (too late for me).

Needless to say I gained 2.4lbs over the past week
(I assume it is all in cake, brownies and alcohol!)

You might want to think about renting Sabastion out to people who have tempting family food events coming up. I would have done the same thing!!!

I think I did really good for the holidays, but then I stayed at home. Long story, we were to go to my in laws for a big family b.b.q. Well that morning my fur baby Sabastion pushed the screen out of the window and was MIA. I called and called to no avail because he doesn't know he's a cat. Anyway I was so worried over him, that I sent eveyrone else to in laws without me. (2 hr away) My other daughter who is a spark person too, grilled chicken breast and invited me over. We eat healthy (not like I would have done at in laws) and Sabastion came home about 1 hr. after the car left. So in a sense I had no choice but to eat healthy. Good going Sabastion.

I didn't eat too much but what I did eat, I made all the wrong food choices AND I drank a ton of beer, those things have a LOT of carbs and calories (DOH!)

Just got up so I'm hoping to stay on track today and the rest of this week emoticon I feel sooooo bloated!

I did ok... I tried to make healthy choices. Like I only ate grilled chicken at the BBQ we went to, and when we had people over our house, they ordered pizza and ate cheese burgers. I made my usual tuna fish with avocado.

Don't get me wrong though, I did splurge! I gave in to a craving for a turkey club sandwich with bacon and mayo and a small portion of onion rings! :) Onion rings are my vice....

Ok, am I the only one that went way overboard this weekend? I can usually splurge a little bit, then get right back on track. But not this weekend...I just kept on eating until Sunday night.
The funny thing is that I really didn't feel too bad about it. Normally I would feel so guilty. I guess I just needed to indulge my cravings for one long weekend.
I am back on track today, though. I have tracked both meals so far today and am planning my workout for tonight. I did not get on the scale this morning. If I can hold out, I will weigh on Friday so maybe it won't be that bad.
Hopefully, I can stay on-track for a while now! :)
