That's rough. Stay hydrated and only eat when you're hungry. Most people lose weight in the hospital so just stay upbeat. You can read nutrition/fitness books and dog-ear pages that you want to try later.

PLANNING PERIOD! : )

I just read post about the bicycle accident. Did you loose consciousness after the fall? I work for a Brain Injury Assoc, and when I hear "hit head" it alarms me. Please be careful with your recovery.

I was in a car accident on the 19th of May (some young man made a left turn in front of me), and I have not been able to exercise since...so I know your pain.

Take it easy.

Hope your feeling better soon. Remember that a healthy diet helps you heal faster so try to do your best with that and when the doctor says its ok to exercise, start slow.

I exercise through the soreness, but make sure you stop if there is pain, that means it's too much, rest a day or two and then try again maybe with less weight or few reps.

Thank goodness you were not hurt worse. During the time that you can't work out, at least try to eat healthy foods and drink plenty of water. Good luck during this recovery.

So sorry to hear about your accident. Other people can be so rude sometimes. I don't know why people can't pay more attention to what they are doing (assuming it was an accident) at the risk of hurting themselves or other people.

With regard to exercise, first be sure the doctor says it is okay After a head injury, you need to do things exactly the way the doctor suggests. Secondly, the videos work on different body parts each time so your legs can rest while you work your arms, your arms rest while you work your abs...it isn't so bad once you do them a few times. Move at your own pace. Don't worry if you can't do everything perfectly, just do the best you can! You can get through the obstacles, I'm sure of it and think of how much stronger you will be KNOWING you not only made it through the exercises but through all the obstacles that have been put in your way!

You are awesome and can do this!

Donna

Anyone can give up, it's the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, that's true strength

I must learn to love the fool in me- the one who feels too much, talks too much, takes too many chances, wins sometimes and loses often, lacks self-control, loves and hates, hurts and gets hurt, promises and breaks promises, laughs and cries...

Don't push the exercise, do it when your ready, you can do little things like walking in place while watching tv or extra stretching exercise, make sure whatever you do is low impact, the bootcamp can wait till you ready

Ah man, so sorry to hear about your bike accident! I am an avid biker and can totally relate. Time to get a new helmet. I had one bike crash 1 week after buying my new $90 helmet! Man did that suck.

Take care of yourself and ease back to exercise carefully.

As for the question of how to exercise when you are sore from the previous workout. Do what you can, maybe do active rest in between days of doing the bootcamp videos. Active rest - do easy spinning on your bike (low gear, high cadence) or walk, and then go back the next day to a video for a little while.

so I started here about a week ago
and I ate properly, drank water and did the exercise videos and everything was going great and then on monday morning when I was cycling to work some idiot knocked me off my bike and I banged my head really hard on the road.
I spent two days in hospital, and now I have to stay a week in bed (with a black eye and really sore dizzy head)

I didn't eat anything on monday, just some bread, and I can exercise at all this week...

Typical, every time I decide to do something it's like the world turns me around. emoticon

I did boot camp video one on sunday... I suppose I will have to start again next week.
(but actually my outer thighs REALLY hurt!)
How do you do the second day if you are in pain from doing the first day? I need to get more fit I suppose
