I got the Cathe Basic Step for .01 cent plus 3.99 shipping.
I haven't tried it yet, but I'm looking forward to it.
I still love Gin Miller & The Video, with percussion music. So tribal. Now all I need is some Peyote! Just kidding. In that video I feel like an Indian doing a tribal dance. It's FUN!

I love the "The Video: Gin Miller's Step Reebok" with the percussion music. I gave my dvd away a number of years ago and was sorry I did. So I just reordered it. It got delivered yesterday and is in my mailbox, I just need to go over and get it. I won't get my step platform until the 11th. I can't wait to get back to it. I will order a Cathe dvd later today. I want to try her style of step.

I love Cathe!!!! My favorite is still her Basic Step + Body Fusion DVD. I did her more advanced stuff prior to pregnancy and now almost 2 years postpartum, I still only do that DVD. Love, love, love her style and looking forward to getting back to her advanced stuff soon.

I also love Petra Kolber - she has quite a few step DVDs.

Gin and Cathe have different styles, but they both ROCK!
Once you do Cathe's workouts a few times and get the "fancy" footwork they ate so much fun.

Live classes are so much better than doing dvd's. It takes a little bit to get over any intimidation other "regulars" may throw out there; adjusting your ears to the music; there's not a lot of time for do-overs except by coming back to the next class.

The trend in my neighborhood is yoga and limited Zumba, so I step in my living room until I find another venue to hold a class. Cathe Friedrich has a website were you can sample her workouts. She's an awesome instructor. My two favorites are Cathe and Gin Miller. Gin Miller has a very different teaching style from Cathe, but still gives a great workout.

I have only ever seen Kathy Smith's Step DVD. But I sure got a rude wake up call when I started taking live fitness classes, some advanced and some beginner and realized how very different they were from the DVD I was used to. They were for sure very challenging and the choreography was something else gain! I was lucky not to be tripping and falling over my own feet. I wasn't the only one having difficulty following it all. I was starting to get comfortable with it, but all the instructors are different, doing different things and changing up what they do so it doesn't get boring.
I have never heard of this Cathe, will have to check her out as I can only make it to the live classes in the summer. Thanks for the tip!!

When one door closes, I simply kick down another one!! Never Give up!

I love Cathe's step classes. In fact, she's just an awesome instructor. I like the fast pace of the choreography. At first it's difficult both physically and mentally, but when you gain fitness and learn the routine the class is dynamic. That quick quality of the routine makes doing the same dvd over and over a lot less boring!
