El primer dia Jillian me dio una pela.
Pero esta bien que me pase, porque estaba baga/peresosa.

Try it you never know. If you have cable on demand, is on exercise tv, you can also order from Netflix, or check out your public library. Library hold a lot of exercise dvd's. SP has a Jillian Michael team if you want to read more.

Wow, see I was never a runner. I never even ran for the bus! Sad but so true! I had the amazing gift of gab with the adults so when we had to run for PE I use to sweet talk them and I got a pass. Which is pretty odd because I played sports, but I guess it was much easier for me to run after a ball than it was just for the heck of it. So girl, you know I'm trying. Promised myself I was going to push the envelope a bit this year.

Oh speaking of which are you going on a hike this weekend?

Okay so this month or more like the middle of February I started running. It's not easy and geez do I feel it the next day, but I'm doing it. Indoor and outdoor, the crazy part is that sometimes I feel like going on a run. It's obvious that I'm not going to be able to run for the whole 45-60 minutes of cardio I do-YET! But I'm running! It feels good too, such a rush and I feel so accomplished...I just had to share!

Just the fact that you are checking in shows your accountability. If you are getting over any illness your best bet would be to rest and not think about working out until you are completely well, otherwise your looking at a relapse.

Well my goal for this week was to workout
M-Friday.
I worked out Monday felt good about it, and then woke up sick Tuesday morning and am still sick.
Just a cold, but feels like a disaster!
Resting up as anyone should when we are sick.
This coming Monday back on track thru Friday!!!!
Ladies keep reporting your workouts cause it is encouraging for all of us!!!

Bueno okay...as promised did cardio only

40 elliptical, Hill program level 11...oh and I did it in reverse mode. This is the only way I use this machine, you go 5 minutes forward then the machine stops and you do 2 minutes in reverse. Great workout for your butt!

20 mins. stationary bike, same level and program as the elliptical. treadmills were all taken emoticon

You girls rock! Didn't work out on Sunday, errand day! But yesterday the plan was to hit the gym, but I fell at work and my entire left side was in pain. Planning on hitting it tonight, will not be to do strength training...but at least some cardio!

yesterday i biked and that is what I will do today althoug it is -8 degrees now!! the snow has gone but it is litterly freezing cold.

yesterday I did again my funny exercise at work, walk up the stairs from the 3rd to the 8th floor, down to the ground floor and back to the 3rd floor. not fast but I already notice it is going better. hopefully somewhere next month I will be able to do the exercise twice in a row.

today i have to put the money where the words came from
it snowed during the night. emoticon we have been without snow for a week after more then a month of snow and i thought okay that has been the winter spring here we come emoticon

Oh heck yea...6 days of rain in LA? That's just unheard of!! LOL! Sad but true, but the scary part was the tornado alerts. WOW!

Okay, so this thread is keeping my accountable, I think we should have one of these for every month. I wasn't going to go to the gym yesterday, but I remember this thread and I was like 'there's no way another day with nothing to post?' No, no puede ser...so ay te va!

Yesterday..Friday:
- 35 mins. treadmill, hill program, level 11. I ran for 3 minutes on my last 5 minutes. No incline of course, kept it at a 1.5.
- 25 mins. bike, same program and level as the treadmill
- 15 minutes of strength training on the machines, worked my arms

Today: Saturday...nothing but I did go to a convention and I walked so dang much, oh and only took the stairs. That should count for something, cause my legs be hurting! emoticon

Definitely Prefer and even suggest
Outdoor Activities.
But as U said the weather lately has not permitted.

So last night @ the gym I lowered the incline and the level on the elliptical and I went slower.
My Heart Rate was lower and I lasted 13 minutes (would of continued but the gym was closed and they kicked me out)
Also did 10 minutes on the stationary Bike.
Come Monday 1 hour!!!

I also prefer doing stuff outdoors or even playing sports, than hitting the gym sometimes. But I can't always do those things so I hit the gym.

Oh, yea couldn't make it yesterday...so nothing to report. Weather was nasty and I'm a commuter I just wanted to get home, before it get worse. emoticon

I have a love hate relationship with gyms. See my blog 'Love hate relationship: January 20th 2010'. In short I understand the value of it, I don't dislike it but they don't motivate me. That's why I love outdoor sport. I walk, I bike, I do nordic walking and I run although the passed five months I have had to stop because of track and shinsplint. See what those to injuries have done to my figure in my photogalary but more important look what running has done to it. The fitness I do at home. Crunches and a few exercises more. I have found a super workout here on SP '30-minute holiday workout'. It is on the program for next week. Tonight 50 crunches. The last 20 are still a nightmare.

Thanks ladies...okay, I want to make sure we're talking about the same machine here...a lot of people get the Elliptical and the Crossramp mixed up. The Elliptical is the one were your legs and arms are moving, so you are working both your arms and your legs. The crossramp sounds like what JX is talking about, were the machine has an incline and the the machine moves up and down. Working on your your lower section, legs, thighs, butt, etc. only.

Well on both I do 40 minutes; since I like to hike I always set up the cardio machines to a hill program. Here's the thing don't go fast, when you're starting a machine. What is recommended is to start slow as in a warm up mode, then maybe increase...do a few minutes this way, then slow it down a notch. Then repeat, you will later start to build up your resistance. Remember you're trying to bring your heart rate up, not get a heart attack.

I started cardio a bit out of the ordinary, I just got on a machine and put in 60 minutes. In the beginning in order to last, I just slowed down my pace a bit...not too slow but just enough. Now I've broken it down so I can fit two machines in for cardio; usually the bike and the elliptical are my cool down machines.

Ginadebaca, when I first got on the elliptical I would set the machine on weight loss and then enter the information that it asks for. The elliptical would then take the speed & incline up & down, this allowed me to go hard when the speed went up and pace myself when it went down. I know this may sound crazy but I would also stand behind someone who would go hard on the elliptical. Just seeing that person go hard made me push myself even harder.

Good luck & definitely look into kick boxing it's awesome!!!

How long did it take U to get up to 40 minutes?
The first time I got on it, about a few months ago, I was on for about 5 minutes going fast. Thinking wow this is fun I could do this all day, and then 5 minutes into it I was burnt out!

Tubo kick boxing sounds awesome! You go girl, okay yesterday I didn't go to the gym...but tonight I will. So I'll post later, but the day before I did...

I did...40 minutes on the elliptical and 20 mins on the stationary bike.

Last night I went to a turbo kick boxing class for 60 minutes. I freaking love that class, because my heart gets pumping, I get my sweat on & I also take out any aggressions I may have had :)



You can have RESULTS or EXCUSES... not both!

You can't spell CHALLENGE without CHANGE!

Alright Luscious Latinas
Who's been working out???
Not me, sad but True.
That's why I have not been losing weight.
Let's try and check in through out the week and share with eachother what type of exercise
we did and for how long.
It really is motivating for me to hear what others are doing.
I'll start:
I worked out yesterday for 10 minutes on the elliptical and today for 8 minutes.
Sad!!
So guess what tomorrow I will at least do 15 minutes, but goal is 30 minutes.
That elliptical is a B___!
