My chorizo was really good, I added diced tomatoes and green chilis and cheese and mixed it all up and then covered it with cheese and stuck it under the broiler.

Another nice sunny day! Definitely going to get out in it later. Already took the dogs for a longer than we had been walk.

Nothing else super exciting in my life, same old for another two weeks until the semester is over!

Looking outside at some gorgeous sunny weather and cannot wait to go for a run this afternoon!

I took yesterday off from social stuff and finally caught up on grading lab reports. I hate lab reports. I'm coming up with new ways to have the students self grade. I just give the same comments over and over anyway! In fact, I have a document of them and I copy and paste!

Today, I was all achy in the morning, so I gave myself a schoolwork break and caught up on other stuff. I'm feeling better now, so I'll probably get work done this afternoon.

It's Taco Tuesday, and I have chorizo for dinner, so that's exciting! Have a good day!

Friday: Had my audiology appointment yesterday to get my hearing aides fine tuned. It went well. Very safe.

Otherwise, a stay in the house day Ė rainy, dark, cold, gloomy.

Hereís to Friday!

HUGS and take care.

Melissa: The brisket is such a wonderfully flavorful cut of meat. Have to admit, never had veal brisket, but have had lots of beef brisket in my lifetime! Delish.

Have good luck w/the Hike for Life!

Happy Friday! It still mostly feels like Friday around here. Although I actually have a lot going on tomorrow, because I've been involved in helping to promote and plan a virtual "Hike for Life" event to raise money for a local health organization, and that's happening tomorrow afternoon. It's online, I can still be home, but I'll be on camera part of the time and will probably go outside and walk for at least part of it.

I am also getting a veal brisket tomorrow. I had veal steaks from a newish farm (new to me) last night and they were fantastic, so I'm excited about brisket.

Okay, a few more videos to make and I'm set for the week!

It's true, peanut butter is not specifically bad for me, but I get so addicted to it that I'll eat an entire jar in two days if I'm not careful! I don't even buy it anymore, I switched to almond butter, it slows me down, but my husband wanted it, and since we're stuck at home together, I at least buy him the healthy things he wants. I did declare absolutely not to the candy suggestions. I have been making keto brownie bites which are really good.

COLD this morning, but temps are going up and staying here, woohoo! I might be dodging some rain, but I'm flexible since I'm working from home. I went running in the wind yesterday, it was better than I expected! Then I took the doggos out and the chihuahua did not blow away.

Doing pretty good with maintain my no nutrition window to about 7:30pm-7:30am. Then, I have tea or lemon water until about 10am, and then my "bulletproof" tea with collagen, coconut oil, and cocoa butter, then I don't eat until noon. It's pretty easy as long as I'm active, and I have plenty to do still, so that's not hard!

Wednesday: VERY windy and cold day yesterday. But got the shopping done and delivered the care pkg. to DS and family.

Otherwise, an relatively quiet day. Spke. w/a cousin who live in Mo. He was laid off. His DS (lives in the heart of this pandemic . . . . New York . . . the Bronx) so was glad to hear that theyíre doing all right.

Thatís yesterday. Going to try to groom Miss Lilly. Weíll see how that goes

HUGS and wonderful Wednesday.

And it snowed again. This time, enough so I had to bundle up the dogs and put on their booties. I think I'm taking a snow day. I mean, I can't actually take a snow day, but dude.

I did good yesterday, I had a small sweet craving in the evening, and I was like, nope, and didn't have anything. I got up and ended up having some peanut butter this morning, but I can adjust for that pretty easily.

The weather is supposed to get better in a day or two, woohoo!

Nice weather yesterday, and cold and rainy today - hey, as long as there is no snow, I'm fine with this.

Trying to track my food lately, because I seem really hungry and I've been wondering if it because I'm sitting at home or if I'm actually hungry, and I realized that I'm not eating nearly as many calories during the day as I thought, which is probably why I'm going for sweet things at night. So now I'm upping my meat/egg intake at lunch and dinner and seeing if I'm more satiated by evening. Only one day so far, so I can't tell yet.

Okay, have a good Tuesday!

Hello, Happy Monday!

I used to always say that to my students and they would groan at me. I'll have to be sure to say it on my Youtube live today.

On Saturday, I was supposed to run a half-marathon for Earth Day, but it was moved to at least July, so I did my own! I ran 13.5 miles and did pretty well. I still feel okay today, except my hip has some minor pain, but that's pretty good. Not going to let all this noise mess with my running.

Today I am feeling good and ready to have an awesome week.

Today is my husband's birthday! He doesn't normally do much for his birthday anyway, so he's not missing out, and he'll probably get phone calls from friends and family all day (I've got 2 sisters and an almost sister who will call him plus my parents, plus his parents and sister and friends). One of our local meat vendors does veal, and I have cutlets and will make veal Parmesan for dinner so it feels fancy.

Otherwise, still snow, but at least yesterday afternoon it got sunny and I got a good run in plus dog walk. I'm hoping for sun this afternoon for more dog walks, but I'm still staring at wet snow/rain crap coming down right now.

Running a little late this morning, but still on schedule, more or less. Off to get work done.

Well, the snow was back! Fortunately, it was only on the grass, not really on the paved surfaces. The dogs barely noticed, though we didn't go too long this morning.

I'm hungry this morning. Trying to find acceptable things to munch on and not junk. My husband's birthday is tomorrow, so I allowed him to have some junk in the house for celebration. Ugh. We're going back to only good stuff after this. Maybe I'll cook up some eggs and actually have breakfast.

Two good days down, trying to get all the online learning stuff finished this week so I can focus on other things!

Wind and rain yesterday! Fortunately, not too bad and no power outages by me. Rest of the week looks pretty good. I'll definitely run this afternoon. Would have had a half marathon Saturday, but it was delayed, but I'll run one anyway.

I just updated the dose on my ADHD med and yesterday went really well so I'm hoping that's a good sign and not just a one-off functional day. I still have a lot to do!

Tell Clara to take care of herself for sure and keep an eye out!

Monday: Had a quiet Easter. Dropped off a care package to John and family. John now has an earache. Told him to call the DR. so he can get on an antibiotic. Donít want Ry to get it. So, he will let me know today what he is put on.

Clara had to work. Not sure when sheíll be off again. Will set aside some Easter goodies for her. Found out there was a case of corona in her facility. A resident had become ill, and was immediately transferred to the hospital. She was tested several days later and was + for the virus. Fortunately all are well in Claraís facility at the present. **SIGH** She did learn her friend will probably be going home mid-week. Thatís GOOD news!

Mutton might be one of my new favorite meats! I let it cook in the crockpot all day, and then made a gravy from the drippings with just a little bouillon and arrowroot to thicken, and it was delicious! I love fatty meats, and I love the way edges of fat cook in the crockpot, and this was right up my alley. My husband liked the flavor as well, but he found it a little "greasy" (I keep telling him that he's made of grease!) and it had a few more small bones than he liked.

Well, it finally rained again, but I still got at least a mid-length dog walk this morning. We'll probably go out again this afternoon. These spoiled dogs get two walks a day now that I'm home all the time!

Ok, off to Zoom with students about lab reports!

Melissa; Enjoy your mutton. It's tasty. Dad made soup from it -- combined with any kind of veggies you like and barley.

Enjoying some good weather finally! Got in a really nice run yesterday afternoon plus walking the dogs.

I'm trying something new for dinner: mutton chops! They are in my crockpot right now and I'll probably make a gravy with the liquid to serve. I'm excited. I like new cuts of meat. I'm also using this time to try and further optimize my diet, so I'm trying to up my omega-3 fats by eating salmon, sardines, and mackerel more than I usually do. I enjoy them all, so it's good for me, they just don't always travel to work as easily as grabbing them at home.

Back to the grind. I think I'm just as busy now as when I was out all the time! I just don't change my clothes as much.

Monday: Quiet day. On line services. Relaxed a little. Made a couple no-sew masks. Pretty good.

Today . . . . more of the same! Just going to make it a point to get outside for a walk w/Miss Lilly. Always get out there early so there is literally nobody out.

HUGS and have a mindful Monday. Gratitude!

Melissa: Oh my it is so hard when a medication is ineffective w/hormonal changes. **SIGH** Good luck and glad the focus is improving.

HUGS

Hello! I took a bit of a long weekend off from my usual internet-ing. It was somewhat nice, but also, my ADHD meds interact poorly with my cycle, and at the end of last week they were not working at all, so my focus level was non-existent. I'm more on top of things today, so now I have a little bit of catching up to do, but not too much.

I did go for a nice long run Saturday, the weather was perfect and it was nice and quiet out. Then, I picked up more meat from my local farmers, yum!

Okay, time to get going and make things happen!

Saturday. Well, another at home Saturday morning date. Nice, but miss the diner!

Clara got to go home for a few hours yesterday to pay bills. She got a text from a friend of her that is a nurse in MI (she is the daughter of neighbors we had in IL). She contracted the virus, and is hospitalized. Clara feels so bad for her. I do, too. It is just impossible to think how long it is going to take for these young people to get over this psychologically (well, us Ďoldersí too, but especially daunting for the young).

Hereís to a peaceful Saturday that hopefully provides some sunshine!

Blessings, stay safe, stay well.

Thursday: Clara got a good rest, so feeling much better. PHEW.

I am hopeful that our virus seems to be flattening out in the spread. WE shall see. Praying so.

Hope you have a good Thursday.

Happy Friday EVE

Took some scavenger pics on my dog walk this morning, including Christmas decorations and a household appliance (dishwasher)! I'll go for a run later, so maybe I'll even get more stuff!

I've been eating good food, but I think being home all the time I'm snacking a little too much, so I'm getting back to tracking my food for a few days just to make sure. I also need to lift more weights, so I put them under my table where I work at my feet so I'll remember! Just as long as the dogs don't sleep on them.

Glad Clara is better! Sleep and water are amazing things.

Wednesday: Clara called yesterday evening, and she rested all day. Sheís feeling much better. Thank goodness. Still tired, but not like she was.

Got our taxes done yesterday Ė done remotely. Weíd sent all the required information to our CPA and yesterday went over it all via phone. Worked well. Thank goodness.

Rainy, drizzly day yesterday. Hope to see some sun!

Have a wonderful Wednesday. Stay safe, stay well.

Melissa: I just ROFLMBO! Yup . . . everyone should have a plastic skeleton in their car for emergencies like this! LOL Good luck w/your bones/muscles video. Interesting topic.

Have fun w/the virtual scavenger hung. What a great idea.

Happy April 1st!

Sunny weather finally! I went running in our local cemetery yesterday, lots of hills, but really pretty, and I found some deer. Going to get in a few more miles this afternoon. My run club is doing a virtual run scavenger hunt, we have a list of items to find and take pictures of and post in the club facebook page. Should be fun. I'm already planning on how to get them all.

Gotta make videos about bones and muscles today. Good thing I randomly have a plastic skeleton in my car. I mean, that's totally a normal thing to have in your car, right?
