We put on only about 20 miles today. But we did open the Harley-Davidson event at Summer Fest Park and watched the Skills Competition which two of our HOG Chapter members participated. One of them finished within the top 30 of the nation and was able to be in the final competition. 40 of our Chapter members are here to watch and enjoy the Anniversary event. When you hear of the North Hampton Seacoast HOG Chapter you will know we have participated with a passion to win the Skills Event.

We went to Milwaukee Harley-Davidson dealership for the coveted "new" dealership poker chip. We dined outside at a local restaurant to watch all the bikes travel through and the riders are from all over the world..

We ended up fooling around the house and doing errands here in town and did not get
to go riding.
If we ride tomorrow or this weekend will have to be extra careful due to the drinking and
football games going on .... hyper vigilant.

RE and your bride, do have a good time....lovely to hear about all the experiences you
guys are getting to do and see....

We put on 250 miles yesterday and one stop was so good.

We visited the College of Notre Dame and received a guided tour of the football stadium. Throughout the whole complex. The field, the locker room, the media rooms, the suites for big donors and officers of the campus. It was awesome.

We are lodge at the Hampton Inn in Downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin and looking forward to checking into the 110th Anniversary events!

We put on 350 miles yesterday. We are in Dunmore, PA. We stopped at Boston Harley, in Everett, MA, Worcester Harley in Auburn, Mass. and then Woodstock Harley, in Kingston, NY. It was a long day. We started at 7:00 a.m. from home and we did not get to our Best Western Lodging in Dunmore, PA until 6:00 p.m. And we were hungry and did not much water during the day. I am hydrated now.

We went riding today.....ended up at the open house at the Harley dealer for the unveiling
of the 2014 bikes....saw a beautiful bike in u\purple flake....think I will keep mine....
then we rode home in a roundabout fashion and loafed for a while then went out to eat...
All in all, a good day and has been a good week, went on adventures.....and it is actually
not supposed to rain so we are heading off on the bikes tomorrow again...

Have a safe trip to Milwaukee and post if you can.

Good morning on this fine Saturday morning the day before we start our motor journey to Milwaukee. Most everything on the check list has been checked off. Most of the packing has been done. We are ready.

GARLIC - we put garlic into many things. We have just baked it and then crush it into a spread. We put onions and garlic into mashed potatoes. Many of our pasta dishes are cooked with garlic. Chili - HOT CHILI - must have garlic in it. Some Sunday morning I cook an egg omelet with a mixture of onion, peppers and garlic which are cooked before the egg is spread over the mixture. DELICIOUS!. We have not tried it with oatmeal yet. Who knows what next.

Good morning on this Sunday morning. Yesterday I also dug up 50 garlic bulbs. I had planted 50 cloves last September and it was finally time to harvest the garlic. We are going to have a garlic of a time consuming them. I have to save at least 50 cloves or more for planting in September.

My coffee pot at my shop crapped out last Thursday too. It is a Bunn so I called Bunn and worked it out. We have to send them the failed Bunn coffee maker and they will return me a new one for $65.00. So the old one is making its way to Iowa and they will send a new one when they receive this one. We will be without a coffee maker for maybe ten days. I will be going through withdrawal - I just know it!

It is overcast and rainy here today so we probably will not ride this Sunday.

Here it is Saturday morning. I dug up my garlic bulbs - all 50 of them. I have mowed the lawn if you want to call it a lawn. More crab grass than anything else.

We got to clean up the bikes today and take a ride. All the rain storms up in Maine made them very dirty and we have not cleaned them up yet. It will be done in the next two hours and then we will take a ride to somewhere in New Hampshire. It is a great day in our area this Saturday.

Good morning Team Mates on this Friday morning.

A week ago Wednesday my mate and I rode our bikes to Presque Isle, Maine which was ten miles from the site of the Maine State Rally headquarters in Caribou, Maine which was 385 miles for us. We rode around the area Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday through wind rain and thunder and lightening and oh yes some sun too. We departed on Sunday on a beautiful day and rode the 376 miles home. It was 52 degrees when we departed on Sunday. All in all through those five days of riding we put on over 1,000 miles. Visiting the town of Fort Kent on the Canadian border and it is the town where Route U.S. 1 starts and paves its way all the way down to Key West, Florida.

Our HOG Chapter - Seacoast North Hampton, NH won the "plank Walk" beating all of the Maine HOG Chapters. This is our second year in a row where we won this event.

Hello, Team Mates on this Sunday evening. We did put on about 30 miles today just running around doing errands. No special place was the destination. We just took the bikes instead of the car to run errands.

Will be motoring to Caribou, Maine on Wednesday and that will be an all day event. which is about 350 miles. We are staying in Presque Isle, Maine which is a little bit closer but the Maine State HOG Rally is in Caribou, Maine.

Has anybody had a chance to read my Post in the "Daily Check in" yesterday?

Rained yesterday, rained harder today. LOL.....

Getting caught up on laundry after our quick jaunt to see 2 of the kids. We found a wagon
at Lowes on sale this weekend to tow behind my John Deere mower, now I can pick up
all the broken limbs and tote them to the street for pickup all at one time. We put it together
in the garage during a downpour this afternoon.

Otherwise, Davids' knee is still bothering him, has a followup appt. with the orthopedist in a
couple of weeks....and I hurt my back 3 weeks ago pulling weeds and using trimmers to cut
about a half million small trees, think it is just a muscle pull, then hitting a speed bump in the street reinjured it, so today it is better...

The batteries are probably down, will check that out tomorrow if it isn't raining again.

Happy trails my friends....

We rode about 90 miles yesterday up into the southern reaches of Maine. We went to Kittery, Maine to Chauncy Creek/Chauncy Point where we got some fresh lobster and it was good. It was a very warm day almost 90 degrees. When we returned we tried to avoid the highways since vacation traffic was returning home after the 4th of July vacations. It was a good ride. We are motoring to Caribou, Maine on 17 July to attend a State HOG Rally and that will be an all day event probably about eight hours total.

Yes, I did ride today. I rode about 35 miles to the Harley-Davidson Dealer in North Hampton, NH which is only about 12 miles from my driveway. But we took the long way back. I did look as though there was going to be a thunder storm. They were threatening us with one. Well the storm never happened. We were supposed to have a Chapter picnic today and they called it off since there was a chance of a thunder and lightening storm. Oh, well!

Well, folks, have not ridden as David had surgery on his knee today. Drat...but then he
does not let anything slow him down for long.

Good to see RE popping in to say hi and what he has been up too...

The last update on the sisterinlaw thing ??????? Monday evening she went off on one of
her screaming/cursing temper fits again and ordered us out of HER house and to never ever
come back as we are no longer welcome....this time she went a little too far and took a
SWING at me.....she tried her best to hit me with her fist, and haha on her, she missed....

As when David was a child........his mother sat there and smiled like nothing was going on...
he and his older sister were abused by their father.....and it is his mothers' house as long as
she is alive....but she said not one word...........so we are no longer accepting texts or phone
calls from any of them.
You would think, having the police called on her at the beauty shop, a criminal report filed
on her would have chilled her a little bit.

Good morning, Team, Mates.

I did a bit of riding about New Hampshire yesterday. Harley-Davidson had a "Pin Stop" in Loudon, NH at the New England Speedway - so that was the goal to get there. I started out in North Hampton, NH then to Rochester, NH - two dealerships owned by the same person. Then to Meredith, NH to the Meredith/Laconia NH dealerships and then to Loudon for the coveted pin. By the time I got home I had 185 miles on the 2008 Ultra Classic. We did drive through some small showers but otherwise it was okay

Not the last couple days...had mama business....now we are being carefully cut out of
the picture, mostly because the sisterinlaw is angry her manipulative actions have not
worked on me....somehow being her maid and cook and so forth just did not sound like
a lot of fun...silly me.............
She started out wanting me to come down 1 or 2 days a week to help, then it was 3 or 4
before she quit speaking at me it was cooking a few meals daily and so when I asked her
who was supposed to care for my house and David, she huffed up.........

Riding will be Thursday in all probablility...
Hugs ya'll

DW, a couple of friends and I joined a large group of fellow minded persons yesterday on the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation Ride For Kids - Atlanta 30th Anniversary ride. Haven't see
the numbers yet. Last year , our first, there were 400+ bikes and 550+ riders and passenger. 51 mile ride from North Point Mall to Lumpkin county high school. Police escorts from 3 cities and 3 counties - emoticon - no red lights no stop signs
- emoticon - almost the way motorcycling was meant to be the only thing missing was the thrill one experiences negotiating curves and twisties at, ahem, speeds moderately above than the posted limits.

This year 2 of the local HD dealerships raised over $17,000 each for a total right around $35,000. One individual fund raiser raised almost $10,000. Astounding. Several young survivors were on hand to tell of their experiences and how the foundation helps fund international research in treatment and early detection of brain rumors.

All in all a great ride. The ride back wasn't escorted so all road signs were observed, mostly because DS was riding behind me on her Honda Rebel emoticon while she's doing we'll and handling the bike nicely she's still not sure of her limits or the bikes, a couple more rides in the N. GA mountains will help.

Stay safe out there and keep the Shiny side up.

Dear friend, if David had not said this is a holiday you know and there might be a cop
I would have done so....95 was insane pulling a cargo trailer I thought.....however.....
we had a great time riding today.....and saw no driving maniacs...

For me, it is practice because I have been off the bike for awhile....and don't want to go
get into traffic....and believe it or not, the weight I have lost seems to make things easier
for me...75 pounds down....

I had to laugh when some guy passed us today and I looked over at him and he did a
double take....with so many women riders now, it amazes me there are still people out
there who are surprised.....lol

Stay safe my friend....

Davids' leg finally is well enough to try the bikes out....so today we saddled up and hit
the road. I really don't like to ride on holidays, but there was very little traffic today for
some reason.
Anyway, we rode over to Springville Alabama and around and then back home...since
it was the first ride in awhile, we took it easy...lol
but was loads of fun and we had a really good ride.

One little note: we were tooling down the highway and a truck, pulling a cargo trailer,
about a 15 footer, passed us....and I sped up to 80, and he ran off and left us...had to
be doing 95....what a nut case.

Good to see everyone riding....a lot of bikes on the road....BLAKBIRD, sounds like you
have been busy....

Fabulous weather here this weekend "enticed" me to ride all 4 days emoticon and all 3 bikes.
Friday, started out riding the '78 Moto Guzzi Lemans 20 miles to check for leaks from the recently replaced crankcase oil breather and double check the adjustment on the new clutch cable - in preparation for next weekends Ride For Kids - Atlanta. Both oil breather and clutch cable functioning properly emoticon
After checking out the '78 my DS, on DWs Honda Rebel, and I, on my HD super glide, set out for Riders Hill in Dahlonega - 51 miles from our house. After checking the time at Dawsonville, about 40 miles from home, we decided to stop for lunch and head for home as DS had to be back for work at 3:00 PM so approx 80 miles. 20 m round trip for coffee with a friend (120 Friday).

Saturday - 30 m on the '78 Lemans - Saturday Morning Starbucks Coffee Klatch run, followed by a 30 m mid afternoon leisure tour DW on the Rebel, me on the HD after washing all 3 bikes, Me 20 m on the Honda Rebel - checking out the gear shift and performance etc after DW and DS mentioned trouble shifting gears. The Rebel is performing fine, gears shift up and down with no noticeable sticking / missing. Top speed is a little emoticon in excess of the local speed limits and the Rebel can keep up with traffic on GA 400, throttle to the stops and small (250cc) engine revving fit to bust. Note to self - DW and DS need saddle time. (80 m Saturday)
Sunday - Ride with friends on GA 136 and 53 loop of about 100 miles of easy curves around on the lower edges of N. GA Mountains mostly good pavement, occasional pot holes, tar snakes and gravel patches - all in all a fun ride, not too technical or challenging and in Spectacular weather emoticon emoticon
Today, 30m Sunday Starbucks Coffee Klatch - 40 m looking for an alternate route to the Square Dance club, DS on the Honda and me on the HD, for those days when traffic on the main route is just too much for me (70 m)

Fri 120
Sat 80
Sun 100
Mon 70
Total 370 for the weekend - the most I've ridden in a weekend since Oct 2011 emoticon weekend for me.

Hope to see lots of other weekend ride reports later.

PS. In case you're wondering how I get lucky enough to ride 3 bikes in one weekend The '78 Moto Guzzi Lemans is the only thing I still own that I owned when DW an I married in 1980, and sat in the Garage for 20 years until Nov 2011 while our children grew up (sentimental value is much higher than fiscal value).
The HD is the bike I settled on after returning to Motorcycling in Mar 2007. The Honda Rebel is DWs beginner M/C, DS has wanted a M/C since he was very young and is ready to graduate to something bigger. First he has to demonstrate a sufficient level of maturity - by saving up enough money to buy a good used bike, cash - not credit, and pay for the insurance.

Ride safe and keep the Shiny side up.

We rode yesterday and put on all of 81 miles on our bikes. We met 12 other HOG Chapter members in Rochester, New Hampshire for a Plank Walk practice. We than met at one of the member's homes for a Pot Luck Lunch which we all contributed to - to make it the success it was. I probably ate too much too.

A fixin' to rain here any minute....on the positive side, the bikes are turned around
in the garage and cleaned up and ready to head out at a moments notice....had some
major flooding in the area the last few days from the heavy rains, so it is chancy even
driving a vehicle with 4 wheels....

Good for RE and the bride on their mileage.....envious we are......lol

We put on a grand total of a little of 600 miles from Thursday to Sunday when we got back from West Dover, Vermont. Beautiful country to ride in the Green Mountain area. And we lucked out with no rain. It was a bit cool at times and windy but no rain.

We have water everywhere....rained all day yesterday and most of today, but
would not have rode today anyway because one of the Vietnam Vets funeral
was today, and it was too muddy to ride our bikes....he did ride and had a beautiful
bike.

We are in West Dover, VT and I have put on 166 miles on the bike on Thursday and 148 miles on Friday and I should be putting on over 140 miles today if everything goes right. It is beautiful riding weather and area in the Green Mountains of Vermont.

No, no riding yet....however, we are pulling out on the being housemaid and whatever
for David, so hopefully we will be doing some riding. And soon.

I did mention if we are not going to ride, we should sell them and move on. I am just
tired of spending all the money with nothing to show for it.

After a leisurely 30 mile round trip to Saturdays Coffee klatch on the HD the rest of the day was spent replacing the relocated rear turn signals on DWs Honda Rebel, after I tried to tighten a loose nut and pulled the mounting stem right out of the rubber mount. The good news is that the Rebel now has HD Deuce style Bullet turn signals, that also function as rear running lights. emoticon .

Sundays coffee klatch called for the '78 Lemans, about 40 miles to coffee and the long way round following my DW on the now Custom '08 HonDa Rebel emoticon Then later another 40 or so miles, on the HD following my DS on the Rebel with DW riding pillion.

All in all a little over 100 miles over the weekend, Not really epic or considering the roads we took not doing much to hone my skills. The good news is that on June 2nd we'll be riding in the PBTF Ride for Kids Atlanta ride. About 50 miles from start to finish, with a police escort - no stopping at lights or Stop signs, on some passably fun roads. emoticon . Last year, our first, there were more than 400 bikes and around 550 riders/ passengers.

Yes, I put all of 30 miles on the old '93 today. I got my annual motor vehicle inspection sticker today so I am good until next May now. Probably will have to buy some new tires soon - latrer this year for this bike.

No ride today....planted tomatoes and a row of onions.....then went to the rehab center.

I feel so sorry for those people....only one other one in the dining room has any family
ever show up, and so I go around and help fix tea, butter bread, cut up meat or whatever
they are having, open lids on veggies or desserts or whatever.

Just tired tonight....catchya'll later....

N.GA weather not conducive to riding today... Yesterday was different though emoticon so I squandered the opportunity and spent the morning working emoticon , jk, without working these wonderful machines, and so many other things, would be out of the question for me.
I spent most of the afternoon "supervising" home systems maintenance personnel as they went about routine maintenance check ups etc.

Eventually, the Super glide serenade won, properly attired and geared (I'm into ATGATT) and off to the local HD dealership to pick up a couple of turn signal bulbs, S100, oil etc.

Imagine my surprise when I see the bike of my, most recent dreams, sitting in the lot. A 2013 Moto Guzzi California. 1400 CCs of pure Italian art. The first one to be sold in N. GA and there she is among numerous Harleys especially to get my attention. So The next 30 minutes is spent admiring one of the most beautiful machines to come out off the production line. The lucky owner had stopped at the dealership to show his friend the new love of his life. After a suitable interval I engaged the discerning biker in conversation about his experiences so far. As mentioned previously this is the "new love of his life", the conversation came around to how the Moto Guzzi California compare to a Harley, I'be been considering choices for my next bike, HD Road King or MG Cali. It turns out that my new friend just happens to have a 2013 Road King as well ( note to self, "what does one do to afford so many wonderful toys?") The Guzzi is a clear first: Faster, handles better, more torque across a broad power range, quieter, smoother and less expensive than equivalent equipped Road King.

Next question to self "How do I make space in the garage for another bike, and how do I convince my DS that I NEED another bike, especially another Guzzi, DS still hasn't learned to love my '78 LeMans emoticon ).

Almost forgot, very short ride, 30 miles, yesterday, HD dealership then off to the coffee shop to meet another biker friend to talk bikes...

With any luck your weather is better today and you are all out riding. Keep the SHINEY side up SparkFriends.

Right now, we have been at the hospital since Monday morning. At 315 am Davids
sister called and his mother had fallen, so we got dressed and went and picked her
up, then at 8 she fell again and we went back, calling an ambulance. I told David the
first trip she had something wrong.....anyway, turns out she had a stroke.
His sister fell and injured the shoulder reconstruction she had a week ago, and went
into emergency surgery today.
Anyway, I have been feeding her and whatever she needs done, and talking with her
trying to give her confidence in her recovery.

I only posted tonight because I am not sure what is going to happen next, she is going into
rehab for 20 days, and then we shall see if she makes progress, in walking, being able to get
out of bed, etc. The sister is going to have to go to some kind of nursing facility...

Yes, I did ride again today, Thursday, the fourth day in a row and it is pretty cool outside - high 40s and threatening to shower or rain. Rain is in the forecast for tomorrow so I probably will not continue this streak. This weekend the weather is going to cooperate and be slightly warmer than today - maybe in the high 50s/low 60s.
