I am MORE motivated today than I was on day 1... I was really crazy about logging my food and that was my downfall because it took so much time and I didn't concentrate on the exercise portion of a healthy lifestyle. I fell off the wagon in October and didnt' care to get back on.

In January I got back on, skipping the tracking food business because it is too time consuming, and just sticking with eating well, small portions of healthy food and being smart about snacks. And really focusing on the exercise aspect! I am pumped up for a change in 09!

My comments are a reflection of some others... I hap-hazardly got into SP last August, with no real long-term intentions. Today, it a lifestyle change. I'm more commited. I've seen the results. It's paying off... and I feel good about it. I've met my first goal, and this week, I met my second goal. I'm on my way to 160 lbs.... and planning on setting a new goal.

For years, reaching 150 lbs. seemed impossible. Today, remarkably, it seems doable.

That's a great question. I think I was more frenetic when I first started. Really nervous that I was going to fail. I was motivated but in my heart-of-hearts I didn't really believe that I could last at this.

Now my motivation is much calmer and determined. I don't feel like this is a short term thing. I am starting to really feel like I'm making permanent changes to how I view my body and how I want to take care of it. Like others have said - some days more than others - but mostly its there.

I really think I am more motivated today than I was back in August. I stumbled into SparkPeople site by accident but I really wasn't sure how it was going to help. It took me 2-3 weeks to start logging my Nutrition and Fitness. Now that I have seen some results, I know it can be done and I believe that I will do it. There are some days when I am less motivated - especially when the scales don't reflect all the work I did during the week but I have already hit a couple of plateaus in the last few months and I know I will get over it if I keep working.

Wow, that's a great question. In some ways, I'm must more motivated because I've actually gotten involved with the sites. I'm participating in a Biggest Loser Challenge, am active on several message boards, and log in daily. On the other hand, my eating (and tracking of said eating) is worse today than in late summer/early fall.

I do weigh 5-7 lbs less than I did in August (depends on the day), so I've had some succss in the past 4.5 months.

Honestly it depends on the day. Like today...I wouldn't mind laying around doing nothing and eating everything in sight. I won't do that...but I certainly wouldn't mind it :)
