You wear the big pants and wear a belt! My problem is that my pants have no belt loops! But I refuse to go shopping.. I'm set, I will wear my size 12's for now... I only own 1 pair of dress pants and 1 pair of jeans in a 31 waist. I have 3 pair of dress pants in a 10 and 2 pair of jeans from WAY back in 2004 when I went to CalFit and worked my way from a size 30 waist to a size 28. Now I'm wearing a size 31 and would LOVE to fit into my size 30's again. You wouldn't think there would be such a big difference in 1 inch, but the 31's are a higher waist so they fit differently.
I'm not going shopping until I need to buy SMALLER pants LOL. Good news is that all my shirts should be fine for a while, unless my chest shrinks too.

I dropped from a 16 to a 14 almost two months back....my problem is I have very few clothes that are a size 14. Do I go shopping or do I wait until I get to shop for 12s??!!

Katie - I'm in the same boat with my pants, just one size larger. My size 14's are really baggy and look terrible, but most of my size 12 winter dress pants are just a bit tight in the waist.... a dilemma!! (But, I love the reason I'm in such a predicament.)

Jenn - Sorry to hear you've been under the weather too, but glad you've recovered. Sending you hot chocolate with peppermint schnapps in it... totally 100% fat and calorie free. Enjoy!!

Oh good :) I logged it as "heavy cleaning" under the cardio section LOL

This week is almost a write-off for me, which sucks cuz it's the last week of bootcamp. Between the 2 sickies at my house, me feeling a little sick, working full time, etc etc I haven't hardly worked out at all this week. But I have been watching what I'm eating so hopefully it shows a little bit on the scale and in my measurements.

Tonight I am getting off work a little early, YAY! We are going to see Jeff Dunham the ventrilaquist (sp?) tonight!!! I am hoping to find a little time to squeeze in a trip to the gym for a fast 30 minute cardio workout, but we'll see. I already KNOW I'm going to be buying popcorn tonight, because I used to work at the arena and can NOT resist it (nor do I want to LOL I've been resisting movie popcorn every day at work, and this is my reward) but I will do my best not to junk out on all the other awesome fattening foods at the arena. I know I know.. I'm bad.

Anyways, wish me luck squeezing in the workout!

PS - I really wish I COULD wear those size 10 dress pants to work now... I've got a catch 22 going on right now.. the size 10's are still too snug, but the size 12's I've got on right now I am constantly having to pull back up cuz they are riding down too much!

Of course it counts! Anything that gets your heart rate up :)

Sorry I have been MIA. I too have been sick. I caught up all my Boot Camp videos on Tuesday night while watching BL, but then felt bad yesterday so now I have to get that one in. I haven't really lost any weight, so I am anxious to see my measurements on Sunday to see if I lost inches.

I've heard her sound breathy once or twice LOL but I know what you mean.

Feelin crappy... since hubby and baby have colds, it was inevitable that I start to get one too. Took today off to take care of sick baby since hubby went to work... but didn't get ANY workout done. I am taking a few days off this week and saying I'm resting to get rid of the cold. But I did work up a sweat cleaning my kitchen this afternoon, does that count?

For the past couple of nights, I've been watching some TV on my stability ball. Most of the time, I'm bridging on the ball and, at times, working the weights. My gluts and abs try their best to sabotage my efforts by "speaking out" in a dull pain. I'm hoping it the ache of joy??!!! (Did I tell you I love my stability ball?)

emoticon Ooops! After having supper at my mom's (health chicken & rice) and running errands this evening, and then dealing with financial crap on the computer, I didn't get my workout in today. I PLANNED to go to the gym with my BFF but she cancelled on me and I got preoccupied with the financial stuff and forgot to go until it was too late (it was after 9, gym closes at 9:30). Plus I'm still fighting this cold off...
I feel bad for missing a day, but I'm not going to let it ruin my week. I am DEFINITELY going to the gym tomorrow, and BFF has promised we are going Friday. I'll find time to go this weekend too, if my mom will watch the baby (hubby has to work all weekend cuz they missed work due to weather this week)

PS - if you didn't do the Butt Blaster yesterday, you should work it into your schedule one of these days! It is a killer but you feel great afterwards! I wasn't even sore today!

I didn't make it to the butt blaster video. I saw some of the comments on the Bootcamp Chat Thread. People were saying it was a killer. RUN AWAY... was what I heard myself saying.

Katie, hope you feel better. My DD just got over a cold that she got from her Gma who was visiting last week. Sending you a pot of homemade soup... Hope you like a hearty black bean soup. It's one our family favorites.

Oh my god that butt blasting video. I've done it before, back when I was doing Spark workouts last fall.. but holy man that was killer!
I didn't get to do my cardio today, but my BFF says she'll come to the gym with me tomorrow, and I'll probably push myself to do 45 minutes tomorrow. I know it's not the same but I am fighting off a cold today (both hubby and baby have it) and just can't handle doing cardio today. The 2 workout videos were enough!

OK vent time... I just realized tonight that I've been measuring my waist wrong! I've been measuring it in the widest part of my waist... where my flab is under my belly button... but apparently we're supposed to measure in the smallest area of the waist? DOH!

I can touch my toes! emoticon I just randomly went to get something from the floor and realized I didn't bend my knees as much like I used to, so I tried touching my toes and I can do it! Hubby says there was just a tiny bend in my knees (like how I would normally stand, without locking my knees) and I can touch them!

I think these videos have reinforced how important stretching is for me... in my old workouts I don't think I ever stretched enough.. and it showed!

Last night, I did Day6 & Day7's videos again.

Since we only have one more week of the Bootcamp Challenge, let's hit hard girls. (Anyone know how to print off, or save the videos? I'd like to continue to use them when the challenge is over. Ironically, once I've completed one, I can't remember what I did 30 minutes later. Short-term memory....)

Well I went to the gym last night and did my cardio but never did the Day 6 video.. that makes 3 weeks in a row I've skipped that day.

I didn't do any cardio today but I did do the Day 7 video. I skipped the bonus because I do those type of exercises at the gym on the Roman chair.

My progress is confusing me... my weight is fluctuating so I've been between 162-165 in the last week and I'm choosing to believe the lower one... LOL.

Here are my measurement stats for this week (I normally do them on Sunday but decided to do them tonight):
Weight - 162 lbs (1 lb lost this week, 3 lbs lost since Day 1)
Waist - 38.5 inches (.5 inch gain this week & since Day 1)
Hips - 42.75 inches (.25 inch lost this week, 1.25 lost since Day 1)
Thigh - 24.5 inches (1.25 inches lost this week, 1.5 lost since Day 1)
Chest - 37 inches (1.75 inches lost this week, .5 lost since Day 8)

Hey, Gals... Surprisely, I got an early start on my exercise today. I did the Day7 video this afternoon, and will do it again here shortly. I'm trying to get my oldest son, Mr. Basketball, to do it with me. He could use some abdominal toning. (Cross your fingers.)

Day7's video was a killer two weeks ago, but a bit easier today. Hopefully, that's a good sign. I haven't had any luck getting the scale to drop, nor have I taken new measurements. I'm a little hesitant, because I'm not convinced I'll see any tangible improvement. Don't want it to slow my enthusiasm down.... so I'll just keep doing the Bootcamp for now, and not worry about the rest. It will all come together.

Keep sparkin' ladies... emoticon

CAHIBOMOM, I am here. emoticon

I am doing the Bootcamp videos most of the days(maybe 5 out of 7). I think I am doing them a little better than the first day or at least I don't have to stop that often to check the video to see if I am doing it right. It is NBA season....so a bit more of TV and that gives me a chance to use the stability ball and the dumbbells.

Creative ways to exercise at work:

#1 - Engage my abs muscles while I am sitting in a chair repeatedly bending over to get files/papers off the floor, and bending over to put them in the shredder.
Name: Shredder Crunches
Time: 1 hour and counting...

ETA - and may I say that the sparkpoint gods must love me... I've gotten 25 points on my spin 4 days in a row!

The gym was awesome! I did 45 minutes today on the elliptical while watching The Last 10 Pounds Bootcamp and felt sooo pumped when I got home that I immediately did the day 5 video. I love that one.. I need to work that area anyway (hips/thighs). Didn't do the bonus videos thought because hubby is harassing me to go watch the 2 hour Lost episode we recorded last night.

Cahibomom, you did Day 5 for the first time, and tomorrow I will be doing Day 6 for the first time (assuming I do it this week LOL)... that one just scares me for some reason. We're weight buddies now, are we? I don't intend to stay in the 160's very long though.

Ok off to make a healthy snack and watch the show!

Jenn -- Do what your body's telling you. I like your "I getting right back at it" attitude. Tomorrow, it's great day to do two videos.

Kate -- 162 lbs. Join the crowd! You've got good company - ME!! Glad to see your enthusiasm. Let us know how your workout turns out. Were the ellipticals are full again?

JNN & GAYATRI -- Friends, where are you??

I did the Day5 video tonight for the first time. Not sure why that is, but it was a good thing I wasn't being taped. I had serious issues with doing those abductions (lifting the leg up from the side). I couldn't keep my leg up, or off the floor between the repetitions. Good thing the video comes back around next week. We'll see if I do any better. ... Got my 30 minutes treadmill in, too. But, didn't do the extra bonus exercises.

Off of AF and my weight is back down! From the 16th to the 19th I gained 2 lbs.. and now I lost that and am down another 1 lb! So 162 lbs now! YAY!

Planning to go to the gym tonight since I missed yesterday. I'm psyched to go since I'm seeing progress. Will take measurements in the next couple days!

Yes I am feeling much better... I even baked cookies yesterday afternoon when my hubby took my daughter out to run errands. MMM chocolate chip raisin cookies... because hubby was asking for them for days. And a good way for me to show resistance by only eating 1 at a time. LOL

I didn't get my cardio done yesterday because I wasn't feeling well.. so maybe I'll have to pump it up to 45 minutes today to make up for it a little bit.

Great job Katie!! Hope you are feeling better. My poor body is so sore. I may have to skip a day and do it the next day. I am exhausted tonight so heading up to bed. Have a great night.

Congratulate me! Even though I stayed home from work today because I was feeling quite sick this morning, I still managed to do today's bootcamp video this evening! And since the bonus was non-workout related, I did that too!

I want to get back to the gym and use the elliptical...I love it. It just hasn't worked out. I am trying to get up early to go to the gym...but I like to sleep :)

I did a killer work out tonight though at home and I am feeling it. I really should go to bed.

I should mention that the elliptical that I love so much is one that only uses the legs, it's not one of the ones that has the arm push/pull thing (the old gym I went to years ago had the ones with the arm exercise thing too)... it's actually called a Cross Trainer. DOn't know if that makes a difference.

I just got home from the gym... Off to do today's video!

I was in KY last week for work and happened to try to elliptical machine in the hotel gym too! It was a StarTrac - I remember Cahibo talking about not liking that brand - and yes, I hated it too. My knees were killing after 15 min so I had to transfer to the stationery bike (which Kate, I agree, doesn't get my heart pumping as much). Alas, the treadmill was in use so that wasn't an option (some dude got on it 5 mins before I got there and programmed it for 90 mins - In my head I was like "is he doing our team challenge??).

I'll off to do the bootcamp vid now. I hope its one I like (I can't seem to remember which one falls on which day)!

Cahibomom! Missed you!

From someone who lives for the elliptical, let me tell you it gets easier every time you do it! When I first started a couple weeks ago, I thought I was going to die too... and now I'm pumping up the slope and the resistance like crazy because it's getting easier! I absolutely HATE when the ellipticals are in use and I have to use the treadmill, or god forbid, the exercise bike (it does NOTHING for me... see my vent a few posts down LOL)

Way to go on continuing to exercise even while you were away! Welcome back to the bootcamp routine!

Okay girls... it's time to livin' this chat room up. I'm back from my New Orlean's trip, and will be getting back to the bookcamp routine.

Stupid me, thought I'd access to a computer while away, but nothing of the sort. First thing, scoped out the hotel's gym, and was excited to see stability balls and free weights. YEP.... I used them. Frustratingly, I couldn't remember all the cool exercises we'd been doing, but did enough stability ball crunches and tricep extensions, my arms hurt the next day. For the first time, for me, I did 30 minutes on an elliptical, and thought I was going to die. Had it not been for two male business counterparts on the ellipticals next to me, and a VP behind me, I think I would have stopped midway. But, I did get through it. (Couldn't believe how exhausting it was... I swear I'm on my treadmill at home every evening, but I'm not sure there was any comparison. I have a new admiration for those of you that do the elliptical everyday, and like Alan, for mega minutes.)

Anyway.... let's get back in the groove. We all know it pays off in the end.

Yah - I've noticed that its been quiet too! I've had a hard time making time for the Bootcamp challenge. I end up doing it before bed when I'm waaaayyyy too tired. I've been skipping the bonus parts but that Pilates vid sounds gooooood. I love short workouts that have a big impact. Better go check what today's bonus challenge is about. I'll have a better chance of doing it if I actually find out what it is earlier in the day!

My arms hurt too much to type! I over did it today a little. You aren't kidding about that pilates video. I am not sure how I am going to make it upstairs to bed. I can't pull myself with my arms...:) Maybe I can hook my Huskies up to some sort of sled and have them pull me up there.

It has been quiet around here. Wonder where everyone is hiding out. I didn't post much over the weekend because I had a paper due for school.

Day 16... holy crap, that bonus video (Pilates Hips & Thighs)... I think I found muscles I didn't know I had... that frickin' hurt! But I feel like I accomplished something today by finishing it!

Where is everyone? LOL I'm the only one posting over the last weekend.

Ugh.. my BFF and I just went to the gym, but 2/3 of the elliptical machines were being used (only 1 of them was booked out on the board... stupid people not following rules), and we didn't want to be on other sides of the room from each other so we went on the bikes... and may I say that bikes do NOTHING for my workout except hurt me knees. I came home feeling like I wasted my time there because I feel miserable and not at all pumped like I do when I come home after the elliptical workout.

OK vent over.. I'm off to do Spark videos and build up my mood. emoticon

ETA - ok I did Bootcamp Day 7 and Day 1 and I'm feeling a bit better.... emoticon

OH my god am I going to be feeling it tomorrow! my BFF and I went to the gym together tonight and did 30 minutes on the elliptical, then did strength training (I tracked as best as I could remember what I did), then I came home and did today's Day 5 video. I think I covered every muscle today emoticon . I'm tired but I feel great!

ETA - Weighed in Friday morning... 163 lbs! I have dropped 2 lbs this month so far, all in the last week!

I thought it was just me - I exhale when I supposed to inhale and vice versa. If I think too much about it, I end up holding my breath.

You are supposed to exhale when your muscles contract, and inhale when they lengthen as they return to the starting position.

I notice that once in a while too, with my breathing... like I feel like I should be breathing out when she says to breathe in, and vice versa. I am REALLY bad at that when I'm swimming, my breathing is horrible.
I wouldn't stress too much about it. They just say to breath out when you exert energy to help your muscles I think? That doesn't sound right but I know what I was trying to say LOL.

Day11: Got the videos in. Yep, both of them. But, didn't get the cardio in... that's two days in a row. Oh, no! I have no doubt that my abs are going to be "talking" to me all day tomorrow.

Question: Does anyone else have trouble exhaling and inhaling correctly? It's cracking me up....I'm finding the breathing the most difficult part. I seem to do the exact opposite of what we're suppose to do. It's just not coming naturally. No way, no how.

I think carrying your daughter around totally counts! We had the windchill advisory here today too. I guess I was lucky that I woke up sick and called in to work? I didn't go out at all either.

I loved today's video... didn't get a chance to do any cardio today though... there was a windchill warning today and it was -45C... I just didn't want to go to the gym, I didn't even leave the house today! But I definitely felt my abs today. And I was playing with my daughter, carrying her around and running around and being silly.. so I got a tiny cardio workout with her. emoticon Do you think that counts?

Congrats on the inches lost, Jenn!
My hubby used to supervise my measurements... help me make sure I'm holding it straight (especially around my hips/bum LOL)... but I know all about user error, since I totally was measuring myself wrong, in the waist area, at first.

I did today's video and the challenge video and then got onto my fitness coach where my workout was a core workout today. So needless to say I am feeling my abs. Who knew I even had abs? haha

I think I am getting stronger. I just think I need to up the intensity of my cardio a little bit. I did take measurements today for My Fitness Coach and my thigh actually has decreased by 2.5 inches since the first day of boot camp! Some of my other measurements were higher, but I am blaming the fact that I had eaten and user error (my hubby measures me) emoticon

LOL thanks Cahibomom! I actually work for a temp agency on job placements, so the job is only 2 months long.. but it's better than nothing since I've barely worked in the last 2 months. And hubby works outside for a living building houses so the weather has taken a toll on our income lately. emoticon

But I'm excited to be working again, and the hours are 9-5 so I have a bit of time with my daughter in the morning instead of rushing to get to an 8am job like I was doing earlier. And hubby says he'll make sure I get to the gym after work. emoticon He's really supportive of me getting in shape.

Yes maam! I will get back to exercising! Doing today's video as soon as the baby's in bed.

We're here for you Kate. Congratulations on the new fulltime job. It seems most people are either looking for a job or hoping to hang on to the one they've got. Don't seem like you hear many people talking about new jobs.... Congrats!!!! (Now, get back to exercising!)

I am definitely getting my money out of my gym pass... at least for now. I have gone 4 days out of the last 7. I have trouble doing the bonus challenges when it comes to food... exercise I have no problem with, but when it's food related I never seem to be able to fit it in. That being said, out of the 10 days of bootcamp I have only missed 1 day for the videos (Day 6)

I start a full time job on Thursday, and I'm a little scared that it might effect my motivation... so make sure to push me extra hard emoticon if you see me slacking off. But I'm going to work hard to make sure that it doesn't happen, and get the hubby to push me too.

Day10: Completed the workout, but didn't do the 30 mins of cardio. My knees/hips need a rest. I'm not sure if it's the treadmill or the squats that are killing me right now, so I'm abiding by the newest bootcamp commandment.... Keep Day 10 Holy (Restful).

(JNN.. suppose I should leave the commedy to you.)

Bonus completed: I ate two large salads today, and a ton of veggies.
