Was weighing in on Wednesdays, but am thinking about changing my day to Sunday due the my work schedule. So I weighed on Sunday this week when I got up. I also weigh in just my undies.

I plan on checking the scale for my weigh-ins on Monday mornings before I go to work.

This really gets to me because i can weigh up to a couple pounds more in the evening than I do in the morning.

I've decided to only weigh myself once a month. When I weigh myself every week, if I only see a very small difference in the loss or I see a gain, I get discouraged. As long as I can try to keep on program, I know I can expect a decent loss in one month.

I generally do it in the morning. I've been told that your weight is most accurate in the morning.

Today, I will be too calm for worry, too noble for anger and too strong for defeat. Today, I will believe anything is possible...I will walk through fear without hesitation. Today, I will stand for something. Today, I will make a difference.

Hi Katie,

You actually sound like you have the *best* understanding, but not being controlled by the scale. I like the "weigh myself when I get a chance" attitude.

That said, same time of day is really more important to those of us (myself included) who weigh-in daily. The same time of day tends to give consistency to each weigh-in. Many of us do it first thing in the morning because our bodies have had a chance to digest/absorb anything/everything we've eaten the day before (and expelled anything that didn't get absorbed :-). Weighing during the day is iffy: for example, if you just drank a bottle of water, then you've added a pound right there. And for many of us who sometimes live by what the scale says, that pound could be the difference between having lost a pound from the day before or staying the same.

Bottom line, and most important, is that you see a downward trend in your weight *over time*. The scale is always going to fluctuate, even for us daily-morning-weighers. It's more important to see a loss over the course of a week or month than it is from day to day anyway.

Honestly, I don't have a set schedule lately. My scale is at my parents' house. I drop my daughter off on the way to work, so I *could* weigh in first thing Monday morning if I think of it.

I typically weigh in, whenever I happen to be over there and think of it. COuld be Sunday afternoon, Monday morning, Monday evening after work....

Does it make a huge difference what time of the day you weigh in? I don't understand the differences. :)
