I actually have a question. How does SP determin how many calories you need per day?

Fitmeg13 -

I went a took a look at your food and exercise log...the only thing I can think of is to make sure that you are logging ALL of your exercise and make sure that you are changing your calorie range so you don't put yourself into starvation mode...

Sometimes our bodies take a bit to adjust to the new eating and exercise routines and they will hold onto the weight not knowing exactly what is going on!

Also - check with the Nutritionist online here at SP on the Message Boards - they have some great ideas to help those that are experiencing challenges!

Change is whats hard, but its change that will reveal all the wonders that life has to offer

OMG! I've been on SP since the end of August and have started a running program that gets me running for 45min daily. I'm losing inches but the scale isn't budging from 180! I had a friend say that I look like I've lost weight this weekend but I'm only down three pounds! I know we're supposed to look at inches as well as weight but it would be nice to see a little change in the scale... Any ideas??

Thanks for the responses. I know we are all different and lose at our own speeds. However, I just wanted an idea of those who began with me so I could see if I was in the same neighborhood. I realize it's not good to compare which wasn't my intention, just wanted to see how all who began at the same time were doing, It seems you are all doing well and I am so happy for all of you. Keep up the great work! emoticon

Agree that each body is different and therefore each weight loss journey is different. I've managed to lose weight the first week...and then gain it back even though I didn't change much of anything. But the monthly miracle happened and I'm in serious water retention mode. *shrugs*

I agree - everybody and every body is different. Even our own bodies will react differently at different times (moreso for women than men, or so I am told :-) ).

In any case, as long as the question is asked, I've lost 12 pounds since joining SP. 114 pounds since reclaiming control of my life and health on 9/21/07 (almost 1 year ago).

Cyndy -

That is a very healthy attitude. We can't compare our journeys to others because every body is different...when we start comparing we are setting ourselves up with negative talk.

Good morning,

I have lost 5# so far. I think that pretty good for me. I don't care if it comes off 1/4 of a # at a time as long as it comes off. I know there will be times when I'll either stay the same or even go up but we are gaining muscle as we exercise so that is to be expected.

God Bless,
Cyndy emoticon

Just wondering since we all began the same week, how everyone is doing so far? What your weight loss is to date? emoticon
