I too get those cravings...Its like you can't control them!

Thanks MRMENTALFITNESS. I will definitely try to stop and wait it out next time. That is a great tip. Getting away from the situation seems that it would help for me!

I get those cravings bad!!! I'm not sure what the best way to deal with them is, but I imagine that drinking more water and eating a lot of iron rich foods might help.

There is a thought displacement technique you might give a whirl just for the sake of noting whether or not it has the potential to remove you from the pressure of any given urge in any given moment.

When you detect the onset of a pressuring, or painful, or anxiety-laced impulse or compulsion, immediately stop what you are doing (if to do so is safe)and find a place to sit for five minutes. Center your attention on your breathing, and begin to take slow, deep breaths, giving absolutely no notice or participation whatsoever to any thought or emotion that might happen - do not even allow yourself to engage in self-talk. Every slow, deliberate breath is to have your full, deep, undivided effort of pure concentration upon it so that you feel every single aspect and characteristic of the breath itself. Do this for five to seven minutes.

You'll find that your mind cannot maintain the bio-electrical signals that constitute the 'urge', and that your taking your attention and refocusing it on a definite task sweeps all other mental events off the stage of consciousness in order to get the job done. This method will test and strengthen your mental concentration just as it fortifies your willpower, but it requires commitment and dedication. If you have any questions on it, let me know.

""Dwarfs can often do the work of giants when they are transformed by the almost magic power of great mental concentration. But giants will only do the work of dwarfs when they lack this power. We accomplish more by concentration than by fitness; the man that is apparently best suited for a place does not always fill it best. It is the man that concentrates on its every possibility that makes an art of both his work and his life."---Theron Q. Dumont

I definately have that problem! I let myself eat to the top of my calorie range those days and I do try to let myself have a little of whatever I am craving. I just work it in to my day. I try to exercise a little more too and get even more water in so I feel full.
