I set mine at 150 because that is the middle of the range for my height. I have not been that small since probably middle school. I was 180 all through high school and I was a big girl so hopefully 150 will fit me better!

I would like to get down to 165 because thats what I weighed before I got pregnant, and I had much more energy, my clothes fit better, I was more confident, and I was just a better me!

I'd agree with her. I'm a 23 year old guy, and I hide my extra weight really well. People always go "you look about 175-180".. and actually I'm anywhere from 205-210 on any given day.
I'm moving off to Graduate School in January, and would really love to be in top shape and as healthy as I can be. I want to drop to a comfortable 180.

I have one of those body types where I "hide" my weight rather well. When I finally fess up and tell people what I really weigh they're shocked.
So for me I'd really like to get to 140ish. I say ish because it's really going to be about how I feel!! I don't think I'd get any lower than that. I do have a muscular stature so anything less would make me look ill.

My goal is 130lbs. I weighted that through middle school and most of HS. That is a healthy weight for my age and height, and I am tired of trying to find clothes that fit, and not those that look good on me. 30-40 lbs off, and I'm sure I will be much more comfortable with how I look!

A(n underlying) reason is that I am the maid of honor in my sister's wedding, March 09 comes, and I need to be in shape for when that comes!

I would love to get in contact with everyone here. Just need to find out where to start.

My goal weight is 125. At 5'2 inches that is right in the middle of my healthy range. I also picked it because I know how I feel at that weight, pretty darn good. I have weighed far less but that was many years ago and would not look so great on my more experienced self.

MY GOAL IS 202, NOT REALLY CONCERNED WITH THE DATE AS MUCH AS MY HEALTH. TWO YEARS AGO ON CHRISTMAS I TOOK A TURN FOR THE WORST NEVER EXPECTING ANYTHING TO CHANGE. I WAS JUST HEALTHY AND SLOWLY GETTING HEALTHIER IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN. I HAD A BAD CAR ACCIDENT INJURING MY FOOT REAL BAD. SINCE THEN REALITY KIND OF SET IN. GUYS IN MY FAMILT DEVELOP DIABETES. MY KIDS ARE YOUNG AND THERE IS STILL TO MUCH LIFE TO LIVE TO MAKE DUMB EXCUSES. SO TO ALL LETS GO AND LIVE IT.

my goal is 170 because i felt good then. i was able to maintain that. i would like to try 150 because i don't even know what that looks like for me. the lowest i have been in my adult life was 160.

SP gave me a goal of 164 lbs. My original goal was 150 lbs. I chose the goal of 150 because that is what I weighed at 18. I am going to go for the 164 and see how that feels for me. If I feel the need to go to the 150 I will do that.

My goal is 140 lbs. This is the weight I started out when I met my hubby 2 1/2 years ago, before I got pregnant. I want to be that weight again, before we start thinking about a 2nd child.

My current goal weight is 157 by the end of December. The final goal is 128 or a size 6-8 whichever comes first.

I guess more than anything, I want to feel good - about my body and about my health. Right now, I hate going and trying clothes on. I see so many things that I really like, but just don't look good on me because I'm overweight. Also, I tend to get sick easier and my immune system isn't what it should be.

When I met my husband 5 years ago, I was a slim and fit 130. Since then I have gone up to 180 from bad habits and losing my crazy teenage metabolism. I want to get down to 145 so that I can feel pretty again before I take my trip to Paris.

Though my long term weight goal is 150, I decided to start small with setting my WG at 160. I chose this weight goal since I have to be 156, to be within weight standards for the Navy. I am striving to stay under weight standards, so that I won't have to be measured.

After reading your message I thought that you sound alot like I did last year. I looked good and felt good in high school, but after getting married and having kids, it seems like you no longer have time for yourself anymore.
Last year I weighed 220 pounds. I wanted to lose weight, but my main focus was to start enjoying MY life again and to do the things that I use to enjoy doing when I was in my teens and twenty's.
I started taking my two boys camping and hiking (something that I loved to do when I was younger, but my husband would never do with me after we got married). Hiking was very hard for me last year because I would get very tired and out of breath very quickly. So the next thing that I did was to join a gym that had a pool and a free daycare (the YMCA). I would work out first and then take the kids swimming after I was done. It has been a year now, and I feel Great. My current weight is down to 180 pounds and I did it without dieting, I just cut out anything that had trans fat in it and I increased my outdoor activities with the kids and started working out. I think that the important thing to remember is that if I had not done anything, then I would still be at 220 + pounds today. Don't get too focused on doing things that you don't like to do in order to lose weight. It wont work. Focus on doing the things that you enjoy doing and that you will continue to do even after you have lost your weight. I use to love to canoe, but my husband of 16 years hates the outdoors and would never go canoeing with me. So, I bought a kayak a few months ago and joined a local kayak club, and every Tuesday night the club goes out kayaking for 1 to 2 hours. This is something that I love to do, and it is something that I know that I will continue to do regardless of what else is going on in my life. My husband understands that this is my one night out without the kids and he stays home on Tuesday nights and watches the kids. You must find something that you love to do and just do it. Its not about losing the weight. Its about feeling strong and healthy.

i want to get to 14 150 because at my height and age i shoulg be under 160 and naturally i would like to givemyself a little wiggle room- such asthose times of the month and holidays ect .

My goal is to get below 200 and then 190, then 180....I think someone else said it already on the thread. I just don't ever want to see the 200 again. For my height the 'normal' range is 150-135...I can't imagine myself at that low weight. If I could hit 175 I would be thrilled. It's more about feeling good, how your clothes wear on you, confidence and being in shape that what I weigh. So my goal is to get to 175 and then take it from there to never go up again!

180lbs and I really haven't a clue. Read somewhere that's a good weight for a six foot guy to be at, so I figure I'll try it out and if I don't like it, find another weight more my style.

I'm currently 245 at 5'9 and I would really love to be 170 eventually. I think I have to set realistic goals though, because that feels so far away. I'd like to be at 210 by December, but even then...

My goal weight is to be 145 lbs. I am 23 yrs old, 5'9 at 183 lbs. There was a time when I weighed 130... But I look back and I think that is too skinny for my liking now. I like some curves lol!

So my goal is to get to 145 by the January 09 which is the month I turn 24! I want to feel hot again and be able to buy nice clothes. I currently love shopping...but hate shopping. I hate not fitting into nice clothes. I am currently a size 12, but I'll more than happy with a size 9!

My goal is 180 since that is the top of what is normal for my height. I'm currently at 256 so I have a ways to go. The last time I weighed 180 I was in highschool and wearing a size 12. That is when I played varsity soccer, and danced, and ran 2 miles everyday! It seems unbelievable to me that I will ever get there again because I certainly don't have time to play sports and exercise as much as I did in high school. I also don't have the same very powerful motivator - attracting cute boys and caring what everyone thought about me! (although hubby is pretty cute :) ).

I set mine at 150 initially and then did some research and reset it to 138 which is in the middle for my height.

I really have a goal to just feel good about myself and comfortable in my clothes!

My goal #1 is just to get to 275 pounds from 325. My ultimate goal is 170 pounds because I was tested by a dietician who said that was the perfect weight for me since I am 5'10". Actually, I guess my ULTIMATE goal is to be able to run with my son. That would be better then anything... emoticon

My goal weight is 135-140. My ideal healthy weight is 130-150 for my height and age.

I met my first goal...to get under 200.
My next goal...to get under 190.
10 lbs per month thereafter!

I was 135 (til age 20) until I gained weight from medications and had 3 children! 8 years later, I have another 50+ pounds to lose. At my heaviest (a couple of years ago), I was about 250. TG, I'm not there anymore! So, ultimately from where I originally started I'm halfway there. 16 lbs down since joining SP!

Look forward and hold your head high; don't take the time to look behind.

Who cares where we've been as long as we know where we're going!

My goals:

*To have a happy, healthy 2009
*To stick with Sparkpeople
*To lose 45 lbs in 2009 (to get off the rest of the weight)
*To be 180 or less at the end of my 8-wk battle challenge - GO BLUE TEAM!

Likewise, my initial goal will be ANYTHING under 200. Yes, I've set my goal for 199. Why? Increase healthiness and of course, never to see that '2' number again.

My first goal is to get under 200. While the weight doesn't seem to want to drop, inches are going down and I have regained health. I don't know what my ultimate goal is yet because I don't really know where I will feel the best. I will just have to play it by ear!

Like SLA7272 I'm working on a Goal #1 first: Get to 170lbs. It's frustrating, because I remember four years ago when that goal was 15lbs away! But, I know I'll get there. My final goal is to get down to 125lbs, and I'm not sure that's possible, but more than anything I want to be able to run flights and flights of stairs and go dancing without getting winded and to feel good in my skin again.

My ideal goal weight is between 115 and 125 pounds. My immediate goal is to get to 135. I currently weigh about 142. I had gotten down to about 135 earlier this year, but just put it all back on with bad eating habits, and quitting on my goal. I wanted to be be at 120-125 when my oldest graduated (I wanted to show off to my long distance family)When I eneded up going out for a funeral in the spring, I had gotten down to around 135, and everyone noticed, so I quit.

I weighed 115 when I finished basic training in 1976. I don't know if I can or want to get down that far, but that's the direction I want to take.

I am doing this for myself, and my health. I feel better when I weigh less. My sugar is more stable, and I suspect my cholesterol might go down some too.
(I also enjoy the compliments my hubby gives me)

I am currently 155 and my goal weight is 129, this was the weight that was the default when I entered my weight and height information. I know that I only have 25 pounds to loose, but I will try to break it down in 5 lb intervals.

I'm on goal #1. My first goal is to get to 175 which is where I was prior to my Cancer care. After I get there I am going to create a 2nd goal of 135 to my healthy weight.

One step at a time!
