I have been out of it going on two months now. I've gained back a lot that I had lost, so much so that I don't even want to get on the scale to see what the damage is. I know I will get it together sooner or later, but right now it is depressing.

I'm logging my activity & what I eat. I stay within my calorie range. I've tried exercising more for 3 weeks, less for 3 weeks, no exercise for 3 weeks. It doesn't matter. I still go down to 228 then back up to 232 on the 3rd week.

LUNDQUISTK, are you tracking your calories in vs calories out? That will help a LOT!

I'm feeling out of it also. I have been stuck in a 3 pound up & down cycle since I started. It takes me two weeks to go down 3 pounds, then one week back up to start over. I'm so frustrated. I know it takes time to lose the weight it took a long time to get, but this is just silly & really frustrating. I don't do anything different in the 3rd week.

Help!!!!

I was reading through this thread and just wanted to say what a wonderful inspiration it is to read everyone's advice and see their weight tracker of how far they've come!

Way to go team!

Everything everyone said is excellent advice! I especially agree with what GILLS62CA said: tracking helps INCREDIBLY! It helps you to stay focused and to be aware of what you are putting into your body.

You CAN do this! I have been on this journey for over a year now and I had not been doing everything the way I was supposed to. But now I am focused and on track and making considerable progress. I'm proud most of all of the fact that I have not given up even though it's been this long (I started 12/26/07). I took a break for a few weeks, but I started back. Even though it has been 'slow' for me I'm still going. Just keep on and I know that you are gonna see results!

Oh! And I agree with BLACKANDI that you should try to set smaller goals (like the 5 lbs/month that she suggested).

Good luck! :o)

You can do it! Do you track your food? I think that's the one thing that most helps with my success. If I log what I eat, I'm aware of what I eat, so I'm more careful and get back on track quicker when I slip. Jogging has also helped me, because the exercise seems to cut cravings and helps me sleep better. When I'm rested, I also have fewer cravings.

Don't look back, just forward. Every single day is a new opportunity to do something to get to your goal. Baby steps!

If it is to be, it is up to me.

8lbs is a good goal. Maybe set smaller goals for yourself...maybe like 5lbs a month which is manageble. Keep your spirits up. You can do it!

Hang in there. This is not a linear journey but rather a journey of ups and downs. The important thing to remember is that you did not quit and you came back! I know that you can do this - you are not alone in this journey. We are all here with you - cheering you on!

I joined Spark People back in June and when I started I weighted in at about 243 pounds. When I followed the plan I got all the way down to 218 now I am back up to 225.5. I don't know what happen, it's like I was so motivated back then now its just like I wanna do it but it feels like something is pulling me back. My goal for February is to lose 8 pounds and to stick to the plan. I know it's going to be hard but I know I can do it.

Just need to vent a little bit. I have so much coming up in the late summer and the last thing I need to worry about is my weight.
