Nulife4me, I am certainly eating more than 1200 calories! I am trying to get that under control-replenished my pantry with better choices this weekend.I have been working out a bunch and hoped for better results. I'm going to try to limit snacks and I will weigh in again on Monday and measure too.

Thanks for the response, Larry. I certainly do need to gain more muscle and hopefully that is what I am doing. Good for you-going to the gym. I hope you get stronger and healthier!

Muletrace - the more calories you consume, the more exercise you will need to do to offset the higher intake. If you're exercising consistently though, your body will burn more calories which is where you'll see weight loss. Try to cut your caloric intake to no less than 1200 calories a day and work out for maximum weight loss benefits. Oh, and lots of water, maybe water will help supress your appetite.

I know this sounds simple, and I don't mean to make it sound childish. Your body is an engine, like your car, the more you drive it the more gas you burn.
But more important than that, I know for me I have always had trouble keeping my weight under control because my metabolism has always been slower then most of my friends. So even if I cut my intake, I still needed to stimulate my metabolism with exercise.
also the only thing that burns fat is muscle, so the more muscle you have or the lower your BMI, the more fuel(food) you'll burn. the only rub with that is what I am experiencing right now, muscle weighs 7X's more then fat per cubic gram. And as I have recently joined a gym and have been working out hard, doing both cardio as well as weigh training, trying to build muscle in my legs and rear end as I had a hip replacement and fractured my lower femur which caused a lot of muscle atrophy and weakness. So at least for this week I haven't lost weight on the scale, but my measurements have gotten smaller,so I must be building muscle.
I hope this helps, I know it helps me to share and reach out to a fellow life lover who wants health through proper nutrition and exercise.
God bless
Larry

I know that I need to bring my daily calorie intake lower(and healthier), but I have been busting my rear exercising and walking. Does a bunch of cardio make up for the excess calories?
