I like the graham cracker/applesauce idea, but I'd probably eat the whole box of crackers & the whole jar of applesauce! That's my problem - moderation!

I've been signing on to SP a million times a day. It keeps me motivated and busy so I don't think about food. I also drink a ton of water and log my calories.

I am not a big dessert eater, but I do like something sweet about an hour after dinner - it's like the exclimation mark on my eating for the day. I have 2 low fat graham crackers (retangles) which I dip in cold unsweetened applesauce. Get in a fruit, a crunch, and a low cal. snack. It is my ritual, and my dog sits there eagerly waiting for the last bite of graham cracker that he knows I will share with him.

Its not that some people have willpower and some don't. It's that some people are ready to change and others are not.

I am a big fan of candy bars. However, I only allow myself once a month. This satisfies the sweet tooth (which is quite stubborn some days!) and I am doing better by not getting them everytime I go to the store. Saves on calories and money!! Also, I tend to eat when i am bored, so playing a game, reading a book, or putting on a movie and knitting, especially since I tend to get so absorbed in what I am doing, I forget about everything else (including the cat, much to her annoyance!) At work, I find that if I keep a water bottle near me, I am more apt to drink during the day. HOWEVER, I am very careful about this as I am a teacher and have very little opportunity to use the RR.

Don't stress and God bless!

I too am a big fan of chips and can't have them in the house, hence I would eat them all. I do the vegetable and dip thing... but sometimes I want something different. I have found that cutting up a pita (whole wheat) and toasting in the oven and using tzatziki as dip is a crunchy alternative.

It takes a lot of courage to show your dreams to someone else.

My tips:

Use measuring cups to measure your food portions, and a scale to weigh food, write everything you eat down, throw out junk food from your pantry and buy healthier foods to snack on, (old ww habits)

When you feel the urge to nosh, go shopping for clothes (you'd be surprized what a motivator that is!) or do something to make yourself feel beautiful(bubble bath, facial, manicure, etc.) or get lost in the computer (time flys by) or call a friend, or take a walk, or do something creative like scrapbooking, flower arranging, redecorating. knitting, sewing, etc.

Life is a journey. Enjoy the trip.

That is a terrific idea. I was just doing carrots and am really getting sick of them. I will have to try a variety of veggies. Thanks

I munch on raw veggies. They fulfill your vegetable servings and your hunger. I get the bagged sugar snap peas, carrots, and cauliflower the most but broccoli and peppers are on the list. Trust me, you'll eat them and eat them and then go, OMG I'm sick of these and put them a way because you're full.

Does anyone have any good tips to stop munching and temptation to munch? I do good some days but then others I feel like I need to be munching on something for most of the day.

You might like veggie chips or soy chips. These are really good and they are a nice size. I usually count out the serving size then put the bag away.

I stay home with 2 little guys. So lunch is the hardest for me. A PBJ would be great. However, I need to plan. So the night before I make a nice big chef salad with oodles of veggies, lean ham (about 2-4 ounces depending on my workout that morning), 1 ounce cheese. Yes I do measure them. But when lunch calls I have my salad ready with 2 TBSP of light or fat-free dressing and some whole grain of some sort. That way I won't eat whatever I can put my hands on or fast food.

I know that potato chips are my down fall ... oh how I love that salty crispy food. I don't buy them. Keep out of the house. Because I can't eat just one ... oh no I could sit down and eat the entire bag. So I do not buy it. If it is not in the house then I can't eat it.

I have a few tips for drinking more water, too.

*When I really can't stand the thought of another glass of it, or when the tap water doesn't taste good, I add a few drops of lemon juice.

*Water tastes better cold, so I try to remember to put a bottle of it (even if it's tap) into the fridge.

*Seltzer makes a nice replacement for water or soda. It's especially more refreshing on a hot day when you're really thirsty, because the bubbles also help your thirst.

Does anyone have any helpful hints or tips they'd like to share? I have a couple of things I do to help me (or at least I hope they're helping).
I don't waste consuming extra calories or fat on drinks. OK, I have the occasion alcoholic beverage but for the most part I do water, teas, low sugar or diet juice/sodas.

Also, I add Benefiber to a lot of stuff. I add it to drinks I make at home, like tea mix or crystal light mix. I add it to "liquidy" food too, like soup, but I never tell my husband.

Oh! And this is kind of funny but it helps. Drinking water is sometimes hard to do so I force myself to drink water. When I'm at work I'll leave my water bottle on my desk next to my mouse so its visible and in arms reach. When I have to go to the bathroom I chug a lot of water (I already have to go what is a few extra oz. gonna hurt). I have one of those aluminium bottles so my water stays cold for a long time, especially if I put it in the refrigerator.
