A whole year... EEK! Well, my story hasn't been an entire success, there have been many weeks when I haven't done anything to help my health or weight loss. I haven't checked, but I'm pretty sure I'm heavier now than when I joined.

HOWEVER, there are two big positives:
1. I've started running! Well, jogging, very slowly, but it counts, right? I thought I couldn't run at all, and just last week I managed 15 minutes in one go. SO PLEASED!

2. Attitude adjustment. I'm coming round to the idea that change has to happen, big change at that. My laziness/inertia is having a really negative effect, and it's now starting to show in my body in the form of pain, often daily. So therefore, I have to start thinking of myself as an active person, maybe even a sportsperson/athlete(-in-training), and I can't really afford the excuses anymore. I'm seeking out people who are active, and trying to do things that get me moving (juggling/spinning, dancing), versus sitting down (pub, cinema, etc). It's HARD though - I like my old habits, they are fun! But I'm learning that I have to actually put my body's needs ahead of my hedonism/laziness.

Anyway. I've been away from here for ages, but am determined to keep coming back... if anyone would like to buddy up and encourage me further, I'd be very grateful :-)

wow - lots of pounds lost on this team.

I can't believe it's been a year. I joined and then fried a modem and wasn't sparking until about April of this year when I bought a new computer. I've missed my goal by 5 pounds, but I'm so much less stressed about it - the weight comes off slowly and I'll get there and it will stick.

I'm training for a triathlon in September - not a big one, but it's something I've always wanted to do and I'm doing it.

I love the support, the challenges, the ideas from SparkPeople. Now I just have to figure out how to get the benefits without spending 2 hours of screen time in the process. Neither my eyes nor my caboose are getting any benefit from that!

Best wishes to you all. I hope this is the just the first year of the rest of your healthy life.

I can hardly believe that my 1st Spark Birthday is only a couple days away--on July 5th. Wow.

I'd seen a few other people having Spark Class of teams on their pages, but never really knew what it was about. I just found out it's from the week you joined, and so here I am!

Happy SparkDay to all of us!!!

What have I been up to? I've gotten a lot healthier and more active. I've lost almost 110 pounds so far, and am less than 6 months away from my target date for my goal weight, for which I'm right on track. My life has changed in so many ways, too many to list here, but for instance, I'm living greener by walking as often as possible to any errands within a 2 mile radius. I hope to expand that to 3 or 4 miles before summer's end. I've joined Planet Fitness and discovered the joy that is elliptical machines. I'm dancing again and most of all, I'm inspiring others to achieve their dreams through techniques and skills I've honed with Spark!

it's been an amazing year, and it's flown by. Great to meet you all!

One year since I joined SparksPeople, but two years since I began my weight loss lifestyle.
Year one: -40 pounds
Year two: -35 pounds (Sparking)

I have been exercising daily since last March. It took a while, but it is a habit that I enjoy. I'm thankful for that. I've struggled with my eating the last few months and have bounced up and down 2-3 pounds. I feel re motivated since I began logging my food again.

Goal for Year Three: 25 pounds (for a total of 100 pounds!)

 current weight: 225.6

221.25
202.5

WOW 1 yr already!! 1 side of my head says its been that long and this is all I have accomplished.
THEN I say WOW 52 weeks have passed and I lost 43 lbs. That is a great accomplishment. That is a steady as you go pace. A wonderful learning experience of foods, emotions and control.
I am doing it! I can do it! I will do it!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here we might as well dance. Remember Dance like no one is watching!!
